LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v70000-1.1.0-2016-09-05
by: Cladhaire [More]

The last date of comment parsing is now part of the addon's filename.

Includes over 166,198 comments for more than 15,560 quests

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Thanks to lunarwtr we're able to parse again, since I didn't have time

Fix LH waypoint set integration

- We now are able to properly reverse WowHead mapFileIds to the in-game
areaIds, so waypoints should be set in the correct zone.
- We don't know how to set a waypoint in an instanced zone, so we just
put those in the current zone
- Integration with MapNotes, Cartographer and friends always set in the
current zone.

I cannot reproduce either of these errors. I suggest you disable all other addons and test again, inevitably some other addon is messing with the quest log system. It functions properly with my entire list of addons enabled. That is, I can close quest headers and it works properly, and LightHeaded moves between quests properly.

Different problem here with r308.

Its now showing XP & reputation properly again. But...click a different quest under the same zone header (for example, Howling Fjord), the Lightheaded page does not change to the proper quest. It still displays the last quest. It only changes its page properly when you select a quest under a different zone header.

And then the error(s). Minimize a quest header and 5 errors occur at the same time:

Code:

Every other line shows up properly (Name:, Level:, Required level, Quest series:, etc). But not those two line types.

The quests exhibiting this issue seen so far: various ones (of level 70-73) in Borean Tundra, Dragonblight & Howling Fjord. Such as Kill the Cultists & so on. Revert back to r304, Experience: and Reputation Gained: show properly again for all quests on the initial Lightheaded pages for each one.
Then it's a parsing error and I'll do what I can to fix it.

Nope.. not anything to do with LightHeaded.. you've got some program on your computer that is causing this to happen.. what that might be is a mystery to me.

Did it really impact you all that much? Anytime there is new content added to the game, I update the comments. I'm not interested in doing it every 2 weeks when not much is actually changing. The fact of the matter is LightHeaded continues to be useful and accurate. That's not to mention the neurosurgery and recovery that's kept me occupied.

That being said, yes, I will try to keep up to date on it.

I noticed you updated the comments nearly the same day and we've just now gone ahead and installed it on her machine.

As for any reworking (as I've seen alluded to here in the posts), does LH do any indexing in the A, B, C (and so on) modules based on Quest ID?

If so - would it be possible to ONLY load the module responsible for the quest selected? I notice that my memory usage goes from around 20MB up to nearly 90 whenever I press the L key for the first time (open quest log). And this itself (pressing L key) causes the title to hang for approx 5-8 seconds.

Just a random question. As always, very glad to have been able to enjoy your contributions to the scene and game!

Best wishes
This is exactly how LightHeaded already works.

Feeding the Survivors

See the green text....
I believe the green text appears that way based on rating level.
And from the ones I looked at 10+ appears to make it so.

So if you are including the post's rating level in the parsing, then one could set which min level and above to show.

Of course Rating is an opinion and the default in the app would be 0+
Comments are already sorted by rating so the more useful ones appear at the top, but I don't really see any harm in including this. I'll have to think on it.

Since you are reworking LH a little anyway...

Can you add to the parser option to only select those posts flagged as useful and then make a LHLite version.

Or if not....

Add an option to LH to only display Useful posts?
