LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v70000-1.1.0-2016-09-05
by: Cladhaire [More]

The last date of comment parsing is now part of the addon's filename.

Includes over 166,198 comments for more than 15,560 quests

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Thanks to lunarwtr we're able to parse again, since I didn't have time

Fix LH waypoint set integration

- We now are able to properly reverse WowHead mapFileIds to the in-game
areaIds, so waypoints should be set in the correct zone.
- We don't know how to set a waypoint in an instanced zone, so we just
put those in the current zone
- Integration with MapNotes, Cartographer and friends always set in the
current zone.

i got a weird issue with no comments being found for quests that had comments a few hours ago. i updated through wowaceupdater after closing wow, and once i relauched wow there was no comments. they show up if i disable everything other then lightheaded. is there any known addons that cause problems? i have no clue which one is causing the problem. wowhead quests works though for some odd reason. thanks in advance. =)

I'm not sure what wowaceupdater has to do with lightheaded, but you have to make sure you have all three folders in your directory, LightHeaded ,LightHeaded_horde_data and lightheaded_alliance_data. If you have an addon that alters the output of the GetQuestLogTitle() function, to perhaps add the level of the quest, then ou woudl need to disable that.

It wasnt till after i updated through wowaceupdater that i had this problem. I deleted my WTF, Cache and Interface folders, and re-downloaded just lightheaded and it worked until i got other addons. The only thing i can think off that might be causing the problem is Nquestlog or Quixiote, since they should be the only quest related addons. When ever the servers come back up ill try with those disabled.

Check if you have something like Minimalist - it was an issue for me. Just turn of it's inserting of the quest levels.

I use QuestsFu which uses Quixote and have no issues.

LightHeaded plays nice.

Qfind

Using the /qfind functions I can get a list of quests that match - is it possible to get the wowhead information for a quest that I do not have in my quest log? This is nice for lowbies asking questions about quest you completed ages ago - I would love to be able to to pull up the LightHeaded information on the quest and relay the information to them.

In order for this to work, you'd have to know the exact title, and the level of the quest. If you can do that, I'll can add a slash command in which will give you the comments to the chatframe, if that would be sufficient.

If so, please post a feature request at the googlecode page for this site:

Love this addon! But..

A simple slash command to toggle this on and off would be great. I have a few more ideas, but thats one I really would love to be implemented.

Thanks for this mod!

CTcore

As well when you enable the quests level in Ctcore mod, it makes it so lighthead doesnt show the objectives in the pane.

Any chance to make this compatable? Would be nice to have an option to show the quest levels in the quest frame.

Those addons work by altering the fundamental returns from the API function, so I can't really make them "compatible". I'll see what can be done as far as offering that functionality.

This mod is truly one of the better ones I've ever installed. No longer do I have to check Thottbot or Wowhead for quest info! So great to get comments, coordinates and good quest info right on my screen! Thanks, this mod rocks!

Great addon, really useful!

Comments in the latest version seem to have the HTML for line breaks included, for example:

Confirmed<br />The only type of crocolisks...
Would be great if these could be replaced with actual line breaks (possibly just a bug in the latest data? Don't remember it from earlier).

Ah good catch, wowhead changed their <br> tags to be proper now. I'll re-parse tonight and get a new version up. Thanks.
