TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:

/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback

I am a priest, I have the talent that rezzes me as a spirit a little bit before I die. May be related.
I haven't bug tested this, because honestly, I don't like having to die so much to do so. An error message is thrown when I die and go to spirit form, sometimes...but it's not related to TomTom so I haven't posted it before now. I can if necessary. Keep in mind, I use TomTom ONLY with QuestHelper. I set no waypoints manually, so the only tomtom waypoints I have are the corpse arrow. I run back to my corpse, rez...and sometimes that's far away from my corpse (39 yards), and the little green dot saying 'your corpse' is still there on my minimap, and if I move far enough away, an arrow at the edge of the minimap points to it. Only way to remove is right click and select remove waypoint. Expected behavior is for this to automatically remove when I rez. The actual crazy arrow points as expected to QuestHelper or my current corpse, however. The only things I can think of that may be causing it is that I sometimes rez as far as possible from my corpse, that I have the spirit healer priest talent, and that I play on a PvP server so sometimes the death is pvp related and sometimes it isn't. If I had to guess, I'd say it's rezzing at a distance that causes it, or an ace-related bug with the spirit healer talent. But again, I don't know for sure.

Out of curiousity.. Clad, what's the highest number of waypoints you've ever tested with? |

Re: Re: This seems odd...
Did get this error first time using TomTom on my DK in Outland, near Honor Hold (I'm using the r193 version): Date: 2009-02-14 16:23:55 ID: -1 Error occured in: Global Count: 111 Message: ..\AddOns\TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua line 382: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'column' (a nil value) Debug: [C]: ? TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:382: TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:381 TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:392: TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:389 TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:464: TomTom\TomTom_CrazyArrow.lua:428 ------------- If you want the entire addon list I'll be happy to send it in a PM, just didn't want to crap up this thread with it as it is rather long. Lemme know if you want it. Oh, and thanks for making such a great addon, it's truly one of my favorites and hard to get along without once I'd gotten used to using it alongside LightHeaded and nQuestLog. Edit: Added version number of TomTom

Further testing must await the end of my day's obligations :-)
I do thank you for your continued support and willingness to look at this...and I'll check back here as soon as I am able to see if you have any further suggestions. And just to re-iterate; it really is a great add on that you have developed; my game is much less enjoyable without it ! |

Turned off Zygor; Tom Tom was more responsive for the first 2 minutes back in game ( changing orientation and color), then after 2 minutes; the arrow(s) disappeared completely. Turned off ALL addons except for Tom Tom, returned to game; no tom tom arrow at all , checked Tom Tom options to make certain they shoulddisplay, all were intact; still no arrow. Changed to a level 70 character (mage) ( thinking perhaps the problem was hooked to the Zygor level 60-70 ally guide), tom tom functioning perfectly with zygor. Checked level 80 character ( hunter and druid ) Tom tom functioning perfectly with Zygor as on mage. Interesting, eh ? |

and as I said early on.... I found it curious even when I use the EXACT same add on profile as other characters which do not share these issues. It continues to be a curious matter, indeed. |

Perhaps I should reiterate. There is absolutely no code in TomTom that directs it to work differently from one class to another. I suspect you have an addon enabled on the Death Knight which is causing issues and conflicting.. but again this is all speculation.

Re: Re: Re: Re: This seems odd...
The waypoint arrow is very 'slow" to respond to change in direction and does not change colour to indicate object facing direction as it does on other characters. In TomTom options, Ive kept it pretty vanilla; turning off only the announcement of new arrow points ( as they seem to be endless) and I have enabled , but not locked the coordinate block. On the waypoint arrow options I have unchecked Lock Waypoint Arrow, and Disable All Mouse input... turning them on doesnt seem to affect the problem. I have disabled mini map arrow points ( as they too, seem to encompass the entire perimeter of the map). None of the LDB data feed options are enabled, Ive reset the profile to my server, tried other characters, which results in no change, and displaying waypoints from other zones is a greyed out check mark. I hope this additional information is helpful. The version of Tom Tom I am running is R193 |
