TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:
/way 14.78 23.90
/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback
/cway
/closestway

TomTom seems to be lagging me out bad (drops me down to about 2-3 FPS) in BC instances. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but I'm assuming the lack of maps and coords and whatnot in those instances is the culprit. Disabling it before going in the instance and enabling it when I'm done is what I have to do now, it's slightly annoying but it works.
I'm not in a rush so enjoy your holiday

I know you're away, but as I thought of this again, let's mention it now rather than later :P
Two things, probably rather issues with the game's handling of the questtracker's POIs, but maybe you can find a workaround: a) Often after completing all objectives of a quest, adding a waypoint from the tracker's blob points you back to the target area for a certain while, rather than to the quest ender NPC. b) Sometimes, TomTom doesn't react to using that blob at all, until you open the map (Mapster for a smaller map ftw so you can still see the quest tracker) at which point the addon indeeds reacts to using the blob. Of course I am already in the quest zone, I am aware that there are even more problems with objectives/NPCs that are in another zone. |

Not sure if this is common but when I log in chat box gets filled with a crapload of "Astrolabe is missing data from [Insert location]" messages. Nothing gamebreaking as the only reason Im running TomTom is for Archy. Is there a way to prevent those from showing ? It's just something that bothers me
Thanx |

Here you go. Removes an extraneous comma or period from between coordinates, and also corrects decimal separators for the user's locale (eg. EU users copying coordinates from US forums, or vice versa).
Code:
local wrongseparator = "(%d)" .. (tonumber("1.1") and "," or ".") .. "(%d)" local rightseparator = "%1" .. (tonumber("1.1") and "." or ",") .. "%2" SlashCmdList["TOMTOM_WAY"] = function(msg) msg = msg:gsub("(%d)[%.,] (%d)", "%1 %2"):gsub(wrongseparator, rightseparator) local tokens = {}

Then write the code. I'm on holiday and not even remotely interested in doing it. It's been this way since 2007, and while some people have complained everyone has learned to cope.
There are solutions, but there aren't just simple patterns that make it work.. and I haven't had the time nor the initiative to make a change like this. I'm much more concerned with the legitimate bugs and issues that I'm trying to track down.

Please point out any number system used anywhere that uses a comma (or any other character) followed by a space to separate decimals.
Edit: After looking at the code, I see you're already splitting slash command input on spaces, so you could just check if the first or last character of each segment you've identified as a coordinate is non-numeric, and, if so, remove that character. Since you're only running this code in response to user input, the overhead from the additional string operations is irrelevant. And realistically, you'd only need to check the last character of the first (x) segment. ___

No. It is absolutely NOT trivial. In many European countries comma is used as the decimal separator. Should I handle a full stop list separator? There are a LOT of cases, so I wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment!

Obviously it's not impossible. It's just inconvenient, and would be trivial to code support for in TomTom.

Cladhaire,
Would you please add support for commas in the /way command? Nearly everyone who posts coordinates on the internet (eg. in Wowhead comments) posts them with a comma separator ("Found in the hut at 48.0, 36.7"), but I can't directly copy and paste these into a /way command in-game, because TomTom freaks out about the comma. |

Re: Script or Console
Console means macro all the time, unless you like to waste your time typing commands one at a time. Scripts - read TomTom API description, but it will surely be more code than using macro. |

Script or Console
I know I have seen that people have been able to add waypoints in tomtom through Console or scripts, but i cant find where i saw it now. If anyone knows how to do this can they please post directions here?
I have seen that you could add 20+ waypoints all at once without the use of macros with this technique. Please help! Thanks |
