Manage & view my Addons  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v0.90
by: Mars85 [More]
Manage & view my addons is an external application to manage your addons and have a quick overview of them. It has following features amongst others:
- A quick overview of your addons
- See detailed infos when you click on an addon
- Outdated addons will be marked
- See on which addons the single addons depend
- See which addons depend on the single addons
- Addons which are libraries will be marked if no addon depends on them
- Export addon list to several formats
- See for which characters the single addons are enabled/disabled
- Option to configure which infos to show in the overview list
- Option to hide libraries and/or sub-addons from the addon list
- Loading addon list from a different location, even zip files
- Backup and restore your addons and settings

Ideas for future versions:
- Saving and loading the 'activated/deactivated' settings (profiling)
- Remove unnecessary SavedVariables

If you have more ideas to include, please post in comments.

You must have the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Runtime installed on your computer if you use Windows or Mono if you use Linux/Mac OS X (compatibility isn't tested!). Please see FAQ also.
v0.90
- Backup & restore feature (It's not tagged as beta but same as the whole program: Use at your own risk)
- Added "short note / category" columnn
- The functionality of MAVPlugin_IsOnWowace.dll has been integrated into the program, thus that file will be ignored and you can delete it
- Several bugfixes, small layout changes, and other improvements

v0.87 (beta):
- There were many internal changes (including bugfixes/adjustments) which maybe broke something so this a beta release. Please feedback (even if there are no problems)!
- The program is now ready to be run under Mono what means that you could use it on Linux/Mac (even if I can't test it under Mac)
- There is now an option to show a warning if the "Load outdated addons" function isn't activated
- New feature: Addon-History which will show addons which were installed in the past (the program had to be run in the past while these addons were installed)
- In preparation to next major release you'll find an "Backup folder" option in the settings (which isn't used at the moment)

v0.86:
- Bugfix for "Argument 'Path' is Nothing or empty" error
- Added new column which shows which slash commands an addon has (Hint: This can't be determined for every addon)

v0.85:
- Per-column statistics can be shown (rightclick on a column header)
- Most columns got settings (for example an option to don't colorize the cells)
- Improvements & bugfixes for the export and new export formats (XML and colorless HTML)
- List of characters an addon is enabled/disabled for
- You can now define to which package an addon belongs to (BigWigs, Pitbull, X-Perl, Quartz, etc. are packages which contain several sub-addons). This can be done in the "notes" window.
- Sub-addons (see previous changelog entry) can now be hidden from the overview list
- Changed IsOnWowace column/plugin to a general "addon source" column. That column uses your notes and the information an addon provides to show where you can find updates for that addon. You can click a cell to open your browser with the main URL of the addon.
- Several other bugfixes and improvements

v0.8b:
- Fixed bug: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
- Several other bugfixes
- Added threshold-setting for interface-number auto-update
- New feature to load addon list from a package (beta, please test and report but don't expect that it works good)
- Added current selection related context menu entries
- Improved performance of IsOnWowace plugin and added a message if addonlist file is outdated
- Added progressbar for the addonlist loading progress

v0.8:
- You can now configure which columns should be shown
- Libraries can now be hidden from overview
- Improved export function including export as CSV, TXT, HTML
- LibBased column now supports Ace3 and Rock too
- Added LoadOnDemand, LastMod and IsOnWowace columns (for the last one column you must activate the plugin first)
- Different bugfixes and some other smaller things

Character selection and the "show disabled/enabled" feature is maybe still bugged - need reports (even if it works!)

Nice job. I got the enabled/disabled message. Not real sure what it meant, but it did load the addons.

Uploaded new version

- Enabled/disabled list does no longer require that ACCOUNT\Addons.txt does exist
- You can now choose another account even if you selected 'Use this account everytime' (reset option is in the settings)
- You can now hide addons from character's enabled/disabled list if they have this state globally

PS: Happy easter

@MiklaDfar: This problem should be fixed now.

The .NET runtime for Mac is available as the free Mono project. Because I've no access to a Mac I can't test for compatibility so that programming for it isn't easy.

Very neat idea, I love this program.

The user interface needs some polish ofc. Atm I had two probs with it: 1. the size of the main window is remembered, but the vertical position isn't, and 2. I could once resize the main window in such a way that the addon list didn't resize, so there was a big empty area at the bottom.

Enabled/disabled list seems to work just fine.

In the functionality for me the most useful addition would be some direct indication which addons are/aren't Ace2 addons (and in particular: which ones are managed by WoWAceUpdater, because I can automatically update those, while the others must be updated manually). This could be done by using the index file, just like in WowAceUpdater (which is also a C# program and an open source one).

Another thing: a library may depend on other libraries (especially in the Ace2 world) so some refinement there could be made (I don't actually know how, because just exploring the dependency tree wouldn't give 100% precise results if one uses !!!StandaloneLibraries).

All in all, a very nice program already, thanks for creating it!

And another idea: it would be nice if one could sort the addon list according to addon name/folder/interface/... (in an increasing/decreasing order) by clicking on the column headings!

(It is again useful for Ace2 libraries, for which they started to put "Lib: " in the beginning of the addon name, but not in the folder name.)

I'll take a look at sorting feature. Resizing bug is not easy to fix without knowing how to reconstruct it .. in theory all elements should resize automatically because of .net's system.

Ace/Ace2 indication is a thing which is already on todo list. But indication whether WAU could update it isn't trivial (I don't mean technical but whether it is 'okay' to do this or whether this is ontopic.. I must think about it) because I must load the index from web.

I agree to you that dependencies and "you can delete this addon/library because it's not used" isn't trivial.

In addition I'll implement a feature to delete embedded Libs if the library does exist as single addon; but with a filter so that this is done only fpr the official Ace2 libs. I know WAU has something to don't load embedded libs (externals) but put them as single addons. But that makes that loading screen goes away faster but then a big hang will be there after loading screen is gone while the LoadOnDemand addons are loaded....

Nice work so far. The only thing I would like to see added is a profile system. I keep certain addons enabled for pvp, raiding and everyday use. It would be cool if you could load up your app and select a profile say "raid" and click apply and it enables all your raid addons that you've specified for that purpose.

Just a thought!

Uploaded v0.7 Alpha:
- Shows now additional informations (LoadOnDemand, LoadWith, DefaultState, SavedVariables, Ace2/Library info) in the addon info panel.
Now everything what can be put into a TOC (except files to include) should be listed in the info panel.
- The addon overview list is sortable now. Just click the header of the column.
- Included much more libraries, but removed the libraries setting from options. Please post here if some library is missing.

PS: Please look at "approval" status on top of the addon page so that you don't get an old release.

Show Enabled addons for Charname/Realm ... does not work

Hello Mars,

thanks for your work.

I would like to see which addon i activated for a specific char, so i thought the option "Show Enabled addons for Charname/Realm" would be it ... but it gives me an empty list for the char. I tried it with all chars.

Did i do something wrong or is this not the intended way ?

I can see the DISabled addons for indiv. Char though

Interface numbers

Hello I am new to this program, but from what i have read, the addons marked in orange are addons out of date. so here is my question, what does that interface number mean? All the addons that are NOT marked have the number 20200, and the ones that ARE marked have either 20000;20003 or 20100. What does this mean?

thanks for ur time
