Quartz - Modular Casting Bar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.1.4
by: Nymbia, Nevcairiel
Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:

*Player
The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.
*Target/Focus
Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.
*Buffs
Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars using the new API introduced in patch 2.1.
*Flight
Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.
*Global Cooldown
Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.
*Interrupt
Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).
*Latency
Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.
*Mirror
Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.
*Range
Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.
*Swing
Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.
*Timer
Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.
*Tradeskill Merge
Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.

Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.
- Support for WoW 5.4
- Fixed a bug with the position of the channeld cast tick positions.

Out of date?

I just downloaded the most recent version of this beta, but it's coming up red as out of date..

Is there a more recent version, or is this one still good? (I also get the same error for Recount oddly and that too was just downloaded and installed)

Thanks in advance for a response!

I have Quartz setup to where the border alpha is set to 0, but every time I log out of and back onto a character, the border reappears as normal. I've tried changing it's color or both at the same time, neither work.

I am mainly using Quartz for its swing timer..and...

.. for some reason after I relog, the swing timer disappears and I can't make it show again without resetting the profile.

Will this get fixed in a future release or is there any way around it?

Small problem. I can't seem to be able to get the frame name for the mirror bar to be used with kgpanels. I have tried various recommendations with script lines etc. and they work fine for most frames in most addons, but I get at best an unknown when trying to get the frame name for the mirror bar.

So maybe someone here knows what that frame name is supposed to be so I can link it to my kgpanel box?

Also, the latency color won't stay the color I set it after I relog. it goes back to default purple.

Is there a way to change the way textures are used for bars? When the castbar fills up the texture is stretched rather than just sort of filling in like normal.

Does that make sense at all? I can try to post a video if needed.

Got a LUA error today when queing up a bunch of food to cook. FWIW, I've got a chef's hat which makes it go pretty quick, which I'm guessing was the cause of some race condition. This was with version 3.0.2 downloaded from wowinterface or curse (I forget which).

Code:
1x Quartz-3.0.2\CastBarTemplate.lua:227: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'startTime' (a nil value)
Quartz-3.0.2\CastBarTemplate.lua:126: in function <Quartz\CastBarTemplate.lua:124>

Locals:
self = Quartz3CastBarPlayer {
 0 = <userdata>
 fadeOut = true
 lastNotInterruptible = false
 parent = <table> {}
 unit = "player"
 stopTime = 25809.287
 locked = true
 startTime = 25808.493
 Icon = <unnamed> {}
 Spark = <unnamed> {}
 localizedName = "Player"
 targetName = ""
 Text = <unnamed> {}
 backdrop = <table> {}
 TimeText = <unnamed> {}
 config = <table> {}
 channelingTicks = 5
 Bar = <unnamed> {}
 casting = true
 delay = 0
 modName = "Player"
}
event = "UNIT_SPELLCAST_START"

Swing bar timer

I've been having some trouble using quartz. Primarily, I wanted to use the swing timer feature only.

I installed the addon, and disabled everything except the swing timer. For the first couple fights, the swing timer functions correctly. However for some reason after I relog, the swing timer disappears. I tried clearing any folders named "quartz" in my wow directory and re-installing, however the problem still happens.

Currently installed UI addons:
Bartender4
BigWigs
ButtonFacade
Carbonite
Chinchilla
ClassTimer
Pitbull
Quartz
RatingBuster
SatrinaBuffFrame

PS: also, when I uncheck the "lock" button, the bar does not appear.

stupid question:

I am using quartz, and the latency bar shows up on the left of the bar, while the bar itself grows from left to right.How to move the latency part to the right side of the cast bar? I can't figure out how to.

The version on this site doesnt work?

Edit: I downloaded the version you linked, but I still get the same thing. I see the cast bar and the swing timer, but no buff or debuff bars.

Hello, I am trying a fresh install of the latest Quartz. The only other mod I have at this point is Spartan UI. (I also tried this with the default blizzard UI and had the same problem). The issue is, I see the Quartz cast bar and the swing bar, but thats it. I dont get any of the nice looking timers or anything.

Can anyone help me to find the bars?

Thanks!

Since 3.3.2, the feature to put a border on uninterruptable casts is working on some of characters and not on others, no idea why. They are all using the same Quartz profile and addons. I hate that I can't really provide any more info but everything else is consistent (other addons enabled) between the characters as well. It is working on my mage and hunter but not working on my warlock, priest, druid and shaman.

Edit: Fixed in latest beta version =D
