SpartanUI is designed to free your screen by moving a majority of the interface elements to the bottom. It is the new look for World of Warcraft. Created by Ansu of Dalaran (aka Atriace) and maintained by Beladona. This is an original design developed through painstaking effort and the help of users and fans at spartanui.com;
Notes
Make sure that you read everything before using this RELEASE CANDIDATE. It is important that you delete all previous versions of this interface prior to install. In addition it may be important to perform a /sui reset after getting into the game world, as some users have reported old settings causing their action bars to be displayed improperly.
We are now using Google Code for the majority of our development. Feel free to visit and post issues to our issue tracker. In addition many of your questions may be answered at the Official SpartanUI Thread
Please consider supporting the continued development of SpartanUI with a PayPal Donation. Developing this AddOn takes a lot of time and care, but it isn't paid for. Your donations will help SpartanUI to become one of the best-made User Interfaces, as well as keep our website online.
Features
* Uses very little third-party code in an effort to remain self-contained
* Almost zero-setup allows you to install and use it without tons of configuration
* Support for almost any screen resolution, while favoring widescreen
* SpinCam™ provides a spinning camera effect when AFK
* FilmEffects™ which provide film-like grain effects on your screen
* Designed to use very little processor time or memory
* All original artwork with high-res textures and 1:1 ratio for 30" displays
* Built in reputation and experience bars with details via tooltip
* Integrated coordinates and zone information
* UnitFrames that fit in with the overall design
Also Included
Bartender4 which provides the action bars used in this suite. Positioning is pre-configured for you, although you may still tweak the positioning by switching profiles in Bartender4. You may disable Bartender4 and use another action bar addon if you so desire, however you MUST use something, as SpartanUI disables the default MainMenuBar.
oUF provides the base code used in SpartanUI_PlayerFrames and SpartanUI_PartyFrames. In order for them to operate you must also have oUF enabled. If you do not use them you may disable oUF. Additional oUF plugins are available, but may not be supported by the developers of SpartanUI, so use them at your own risk.

I appreciate you posting that info but I'd like to ask again; what website is this from? As I said earlier, I don't see that anywhere on spartanui.com. Is there another website with restricted access of some kind (developers only or people who have donated or something like that)? If so you don't need to give out the URL, but just say where this is coming from. The main reason I ask is that I'd like to be able to get more info on this project and keep up to date with it's progress.
At the risk of getting in trouble, here is the Post from Ansu's Webpage about the Spartanui:
2008.08.21:
The last feature to be implimented has become the biggest problem, buffs. It's now undergone 6 major revisions since its first iteration in the public beta. Two bits of good news though, I'm no longer working solo on this project; one of the development communities' veteran programmers is now working with me to optimize the mod. Though portions were done well, as many of you know, this mod was a first. One of the biggest setbacks was a memory issue that inflated usage up to many megabytes (instead of the cushy 300K).
The second bit of good news... SpartanUI is living a double life. The current version is near final and 3.0 is in-progress; we have beta access and are developing in Wrath of the Lich King!
That aside, I've committed to removing my hermitic ways of working. Those of you who haven't received a response yet via email may be getting one shortly. Thank you for your support!

What site are you talking about? The last post he made on the SpartanUI.com website was on 5-5-08. I like this UI a lot and would be very interested in hearing what Ansu has to say about it's continuing development.

My Addons: Serious Buff Sorter and Timer
I've been working with the LUA files and various other settings within spartanui for weeks trying to turn off or just lower the strata of the unitframes to no avail. I like the unit Frames included however I prefer X-Perl by Far.
Has anyone found a way to turn them off or lower them to the lowest frame strata?
May have found something in the XML file. I'll give it a look and post back here
~Mitch
::Edit:: Ok, so the XML file held the strata levels for the unit frames. Turning them to background makes the textures fall lower but not the bars. The bars seem to be independent of the textures. the XML file for X-perl also held the strata levels for it's frames and changing it's preset strata level to "HIGH" from "LOW" allows you to position the frames over the standard frames without anything showing through. Unfortunately it looks hashed and thrown together :-/.
I'm not a mod guru by any means so if anyone else can shine some light on what to possibly do I'd appreciate it. Turning off the portrait, level, health, mana/rage/energy, class, PvP flag, %'s, and buffs without turning off the background textures would be amzing. And that's for the player, target, T of T, Pet, and Focus frames :-/
