TBag-Shefki
TBag-Shefki   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
This is the long awaited update to TBag that fixes a number of bugs.

TBag is a WoW Addon that provides an alternative bag and bank interface. It was built by modifying Engbags an addon who has essnetially the same functionality is missing some of the features of TBag.

Talos the original author of Tbag his this to say about it when he released it:

"In addition to the auto-sorting you've come to know and love, I've added many new features, including searching for items (in mail, etc.) You can also see and use the original default UI bags, which have slots free overlaid on top of them. There are also many convenience features, like highlighting new items, colored spotlighting, and purchase bank bags without having to unload the addon. A visual edit mode allows you to rearrange categories to your taste, and an advanced customization window enables you to completely configure every aspect of TBag."

This is a modification of his 070123 release for WoW 2.0.3. The modifications were done by Shefki. See the Changelog file for details of the changes I made. The ToDo.txt file consists of ToDo items that were found in the original TBag release. Some of them are not terribly relevent to my my intentions, some I'm unclear on what he meant and others seem to have already been fixed. See my Todo List below.

Getting Started

TBag can only "see" something you've seen, so for every character:

1) Open your bags 2) Go to the bank 3) Check your mail 4) View your body 5) Open all your trade windows

This allows you to view the bag and bank contents of your characters at any time (sorted according to their trade skills) by clicking the name dropdown in the upper right. It also enables you to do a full item search from the search textbox just to the left of the name dropdown.

No option, nobody has ever asked for it before.

Also and most annoying is why does the bag window not auto close when you exit from a vendor window? If there is an option for this I can't find it. Please fix this I hate having to close 2 windows. Otherwise this addon rocks.
Intended behavior, close the window and then reopening triggers a resort and a lot of people don't want that. So in general the addon never closes the window unless you tell it to.

basic conclusions...

so yeah...i decided i'll have to cut mem usage elsewhere because i've tried other bags and they just don't work for me. without easy sorting i'm hopelessly disorganized and then my bank and bags just fill up with junk because i dont feel like sorting it.

so yeah, my conclusion is Tbag tbags other bag addons.

Edit: not sure what changed but now im cruisin around 1.5 - 3mb

this says its around 200kb but while playing the game im seeing it taking up 9mb at times......the entire rest of my UI addons take up like 1-2mb total...basically i just want to know how much memory other people see this using in game.
For me it runs around 3 MiB. The more characters you have and the more bag slots they have the more space it will take up. All that data has to be loaded into memory. WoW doesn't really give us a way to selectively load a characters info only when we need it.

While memory is the easiest thing to look at to get an idea of how efficient an addon is it's not very useful as a metric of quality. A lot of times the choice is use more memory or run slower. I'm pretty sure most people would choose more memory and faster performance.

I have since I started working on this lowered memory usage and improved performance a lot. When I find ways to lower memory usage or improve performance I do.

Unless you are really short on memory I wouldn't worry too much about how much memory an addon uses.

First it sounds like you're hiding bars. Unfortunately, there's no separate per character config for this. So if you hide a bar on one character it's going to hide it on all of them.

Second, it's possible that you've the number of Horizontal bars set to a value that doesn't evenly divide 32 (any left over bars are hidden). You can fix this by doing /tbag config and setting Number of Horizontal Bars to 1,2,4 or 8.
I was showing 5 horizontal bars, switching to 4 fixed the problem. Thanks for your assistance. =)

Uncut gems seem to show fine under the JEWELCRAFTING category, but not cut ones. Any idea how to fix this? I tried to use /tinv resetsorts but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Other than that, love the addon.

[EDIT] Further developments: On relogging, this problem seems to have disappeared. Not sure why, but gems are showing correctly now. I'm still curious as to what might have caused the problem, but at least I can see my gems now.

[EDIT] It's back again... All I did was to change a couple items to a different category (neither from nor to jewelcrafting) and hide a bar (that does not show jewelcrafting) on a different character, and my gems are no longer showing.
