What is it? - Simple enemy unit frames for Arena matches used for identifying and coordinating targets

Features:


- Unit tracking via mouse over, target, party targets, death messages, name plate updates, and optional syncing between all teammates
- Main Assist setting and syncing, shown by yellow outline on current Main Assist target.
- Optional New Enemy, Low Health, Death, and Aura announcements via Chat, Party, RaidWarning, SCT, or MSBT.
- Optional Focus setting via right click.
- Optional Mana bars.
- Optional Party Targets.
- Optional Race Icons.
- Optional Aura tracking.
- Optional Cast bars.
- Optional Talent Guessing.
- Optional Battle Ground Support.
- Minor frame customizations: size, font, texture, header, etc...


For Spells, give the spell name just like you would in a macro. Example: Dispel, Dispel(Rank 1)
For Macros, use ; to break lines and *t to insert the targets name. Example: /target *t;/cast Dispel

Where did it come from? - After using ArenaMaster for a long time, I decided to make my own Arena based mod based on some ideas from myself and friends.

How do I use it? - Unzip Proximo into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Type /prox test to see a test frame when not in arena. Alt+left click header to move. Right click header for options.

What happens if an enemy is first seen after combat starts? - They will still be shown and synced, however you will not be able to target them by clicking on their bar. This will be designated with **'s around their name (ex. ** Grayhoof ** ).

Beta 2.43 - Added Death Knights to unit handling
Beta 2.42 - Updates to allow extract tracking of Auras times and optional tracking of PvP Trinkets.
Beta 2.4 - Many updates to take advantage of the 3.0 arena id's. Arena enemies can now always be targeted/clicked regardless of when they are first seen.
2.32 - Fixes for 3.0
2.31 - Updates for 3.0 patch (not tested very well)
2.3 - Added New "Use in Battlegrounds" option. It basically just becomes a "last 5 targets" unit frame for self only, and doesn't sync with other users. Added new talents using TalentGuess-1.0. Provides talents as best as possible based on comblog events and buffs. Converted to using ShareMedia Widgets for Ace3. Added Frost Nova to tracked auras. Fix for highlighted frames staying after leaving and re-entering an arena. Register SML callbacks correctly.
2.2 - Converted Auras to use spellid. Fixed Profile copies/changes. Removed unneeded locals. Convert to LibShareMedia-3.0.
2.1 - Fix for combat log names. Added optional cast bars. Cast bars for your focus and target will be accurate, while others are only approximations. Options for cast bar: color, size, font size, time. Made more of the frame clickable, besides just the health bar. Converted to quicker combat log method. Gave main frame a name

Hey man,

I created the Dopie's Arena Info Mod... Your Arena Mod is pretty much what I wanted to do with mine, but I really suck at graphical interfaces (I am a backend programmer)...

Anyways, I was going create a new DATA only addon of my mod, to allow anyone to integrate my armory data into their UI mod.

Would you be interested in adding support to something like this? I saw a user post a modified screenshot of the same idea of using my armory data along with your MOD. Start with something simple of just displaying RESIL, Team Rating, and Talent Spec.

I'm in the process of creating the downloader that will generate a much lightier weight version of my armory DB, that way it wont take up as much in game memory.

Let me know if you are interested man. I'm pretty sure it would be pretty easy for you to code up too, and would enhance your mod a lot.

I would much rather just spend my time working on the data miner and the downloader pages then having to also create a nice looking UI interface (which I suck at, and you seem to be good at!) =)

Proximo stops working after 1-2 arenas, it comes to the point where i can't get the interface to show up even by using /prox test. This problem is very similar to one i had while using arena master.

Ive redownloaded all mods including proximo trying to remedy the problem, but to no avail. Do you have any suggestions?

Test window disappears when scaled and moved

The test window disappears after scaling and moving (and possibly rescaling) the test window. This happened to me and a friend. We both had to delete the WTF file to get the window back.

Would it be possible to add a script command to reset the position of the window in case this happens again?

I think this will work if you use the new macro ability:

/cast [target=*t] Purge(Rank 2)

It may only work after the 2.2 patch though, not positive.

Hello Grayhoof.
I have a question, is it able to cast a spell with rightclick without targeting that player and loosing your current target?
In clique i manage to do this by making this macro "/cast [target=mouseover,exists] Purge(Rank 2)" although this wont work with Proximo frames.
I would like some help if possible.

You know what, it probably has to do with the different localization versions. The DE versions are sending the DE versions of the classes, but the EN client is expecting the EN versions of the classes, and vice versa, so it doesn't know what to do with them. I had never considered this when designing it, that people in the same group would be running different localizations. I'll look into it, but I wouldn't expect a fix anytime soon. The best suggestion I have for now is to have the EN person use DE =/

Yes, we checked with /prox version several times.
Yesterday we all have switched to 1.1, again all checked with /prox about.
But the problems were the same.

One example:
The 4 users with WoW-deDE have 4 enemies shown in Proximo, but one Warrior is missing. The one user with WoW-enUS has exact this warrior in Proximo, but none of the 4 other enemies. No mouse-over or targeting could change this status through the whole match, not before getting into the fight, not during fighting.

I know, developers hate such simple "it's not working"-reports and most likely the error is at our side (conflicting addon e.g.), but perhaps there is the small chance that other prox users have the same problems and we can narrow it down.

Nothing changed in 1.11 around syncs. What you are describing sounds like someone had a 1.0 version running. Did you actually use the version check in 1.11 to verify everyone is running it?

Great Mod, but yesterday we've encountered strange behaviour while playing 5-ppl-arena matches:

- Every user had a different number of shown enemies, it seems at some point the syncing stopped, even before the fight began. No mouse-over could add the missing chars...
- Hunters were shown as Paladins and other class mixups

Both "bugs" showed up in every match and every of the 3 arenas.

At our side, 4 ppl are using WoW-deDE an 1 person enUS, the first games one used still 1.1, but even after upgrading to 1.11 (all 5 ppl 1.11 then) the errors were the same.

Today we'll downgrade the whole team to 1.10, testing if it's better, because the last 2 weeks Proximo was working fine (before 1.11 was released).

I'll post again, perhaps i can provide a better bug report than now

Feature Suggestion

Hi,
Great mod.. thanks for taking the time to develop Proximo.

Suggestion:
I would like an option to show the Class name instead of the class icons (similar to the way ArenaMaster had it). Even if the classes are color coded, displaying a name allows for instant identification.

Ok, problem. Somehow I've managed to make it so the main frame doesn't show up and can't figure out how to get it back....

Please tell me a GUI is coming in the future. Setting this thing up is a nightmare the way it is now....

Edit: Nevermind. My noob ass completely missed the "right click to configure".

You're the only person I know having this problem. Are you sure you are running version 1.11? The minimap has nothing to do with it, that's just the only place to get the zone name in the default interface. I'm really not sure what else to suggest unless you have old versions of other ace libraries causing issues. Can you try running a skirmish with only Proximo running?

nope, sorry to say this but it still doesnt work properly. random popups, even when i got standard nameplate over the minimap and some goes for my teammates.

those show up in my fubar location window

i dont have a window over the minmap that tells my loc, bec i am using bongo2 minimap, maybe thats the reason?

well after i unchecked the bongo2 minimap in the addons

it has been working in all arenas since then (witht he default minimap). so most likely that was the problem
