What is it? - Simple enemy unit frames for Arena matches used for identifying and coordinating targets

Features:


- Unit tracking via mouse over, target, party targets, death messages, name plate updates, and optional syncing between all teammates
- Main Assist setting and syncing, shown by yellow outline on current Main Assist target.
- Optional New Enemy, Low Health, Death, and Aura announcements via Chat, Party, RaidWarning, SCT, or MSBT.
- Optional Focus setting via right click.
- Optional Mana bars.
- Optional Party Targets.
- Optional Race Icons.
- Optional Aura tracking.
- Optional Cast bars.
- Optional Talent Guessing.
- Optional Battle Ground Support.
- Minor frame customizations: size, font, texture, header, etc...


For Spells, give the spell name just like you would in a macro. Example: Dispel, Dispel(Rank 1)
For Macros, use ; to break lines and *t to insert the targets name. Example: /target *t;/cast Dispel

Where did it come from? - After using ArenaMaster for a long time, I decided to make my own Arena based mod based on some ideas from myself and friends.

How do I use it? - Unzip Proximo into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Type /prox test to see a test frame when not in arena. Alt+left click header to move. Right click header for options.

What happens if an enemy is first seen after combat starts? - They will still be shown and synced, however you will not be able to target them by clicking on their bar. This will be designated with **'s around their name (ex. ** Grayhoof ** ).

Beta 2.43 - Added Death Knights to unit handling
Beta 2.42 - Updates to allow extract tracking of Auras times and optional tracking of PvP Trinkets.
Beta 2.4 - Many updates to take advantage of the 3.0 arena id's. Arena enemies can now always be targeted/clicked regardless of when they are first seen.
2.32 - Fixes for 3.0
2.31 - Updates for 3.0 patch (not tested very well)
2.3 - Added New "Use in Battlegrounds" option. It basically just becomes a "last 5 targets" unit frame for self only, and doesn't sync with other users. Added new talents using TalentGuess-1.0. Provides talents as best as possible based on comblog events and buffs. Converted to using ShareMedia Widgets for Ace3. Added Frost Nova to tracked auras. Fix for highlighted frames staying after leaving and re-entering an arena. Register SML callbacks correctly.
2.2 - Converted Auras to use spellid. Fixed Profile copies/changes. Removed unneeded locals. Convert to LibShareMedia-3.0.
2.1 - Fix for combat log names. Added optional cast bars. Cast bars for your focus and target will be accurate, while others are only approximations. Options for cast bar: color, size, font size, time. Made more of the frame clickable, besides just the health bar. Converted to quicker combat log method. Gave main frame a name

sure i will play more today and i am not the only one in our team who has probs with it, all of us have the english uk version. hope we can fix it

Can you tell me the exact name of the arenas as they appear in the minimap text? That is the only thing that determines if Proximo shows up or not, the name of the zone you are in.

ok played 30 arenas in skirmish and rated and its totally random if it pops up or not.

if you mean what server i play, Dunemaul EUserver, english gameversion from blizzard dl. i will write down which arenas work today and which dont.

cascadeur, what localization are you in? My only guess is that Proximo is very dependent on the zone names. Its using a library to get their translated names, but one or more of them could be wrong and so its causes it not to come up or go away at certain times.

Hi,

first of all i love proximo, its superior just like the rest of your addons.

But it doesnt really work for me . Whenever i enter a rated Arena its a lottery if the window pops or not. sometimes the window pops after the 4th arena and then stays there for
3 arenas or any random number then it disappears and 5 arenas later it pops up again.

i use

any ideas?

lodizal, you are correct in that those are possible, but its really not what proximo set out to be. My feeling is people have mods to display that type of stuff already (unitframes, NECB, Antagonist, etc...) so its just duplicate if put into proximo. It is not meant to be a unit frame replacement, just a simple and easy way to see arena enemies and coordinate targets.

The nameplate code does work with Alot (I use it too). However Proximo actually uses target, focus, party targets, and nameplates to all get health. The nameplates are just a reliable way to get health for every enemy you can see, but the other methods are still used.

I absolutely understand that you don't have unitids for each enemy player, and that things like /cast or /target [target=Grayhoof] don't necessarily give you the ability to manufacture unitids.

*but* for updating buffs/debuffs and target of enemy target, I think you could opportunistically get them whenever you or one of your teammates uses focus, mouseover, or target on an enemy. That is, the information is shown, although it may be out of date (just like it is for health, but I guess you only get health from nameplates, not their target or buffs/debuffs).

You could also get *gains XYZ* like Antagonist for certain buffs, even though you might not be able to tell when they are dispelled or clicked off (bop, divine shield, ice block), they do have a duration. Knowing when bop will fade if you don't have an offensive dispeller would be nice.

Does Proximo's nameplates support work with Aloft (also wowace; it modifies the appearance of nameplates, but may not rename them - I don't know)?

The features of AUF as described sound very interesting, especially the CC indicator (add a little number for how many diminishing returns are left of that CC) . A divine shield, ice block, or clos indicator in the same place (class icon) would be good also. I believe you can track these by "gains" e.g. Natur ECB, or Antagonist.

What would be ideal: tracking your party members' casts for 1.5 sec cast CCs like fear, cyclone, sheep *before* they land - so you don't end up getting an immune to sheep because cyclone just landed.

Himiko, only one of those requests is possible, the hiding of the class icons. Its not a big enough change that I am concerned about at this time.

All the other requests are not possible in WoW 2.0+. You have to have a actual in game UnitID (target, focus, party1, etc...) to make unitframes work. This and all Arena Frames are "hacks" to show you as much information as possible, but they still have limitations. This is why you have to mouse over, target, etc...to get them to even show up and why if it happens while in combat you cannot use the frames to target. There is no getting around these limitations unfortunately.

[To expound upon what the poster above me said and to add my own tidbits, I'd like to see:

1) An option to hide the class icons (I think they're unnecessary it's very easy recognize a class but it's color). I also think it's unnecessary to switch them to CC icons since viewing those is what a debuff window would be used for.

2) A debuff monitor (buff option could be included but I don't think it's needed either) for your enemies. This would have options for placement: left, right, top, bottom, and hidden.

3) Target of Target for opponents (also with options on where to display them) as well as casting bars, both with the option to be hidden.

4) Right click casting to distinguish ranks (i.e. Polymorph(Rank 1) actually using rank 1 instead of make rank) if this is possible.

My main issue with ArenaUnitFrames is apparently "You must mouseover/target your opponents prior to entering combat in order for the unit frames to target your opponents when clicked." I haven't used this addon but this alone deters me from doing so. Also, please keep your addon looking similar to how it looks now, ArenaUnitFrames is ugly

key bindings?

Is there any way to bind keystrokes to targetting different enemies?

As dps it'd be incredibly useful to be able to, say, bind F1-F5 to target 1-5 on the enemy list, for fast target switching (assuming they've been picked up out of combat)

Mouseover functionality in Proximo is not possible with the way unit addons have to work now and how Proximo has to work to display all arena enemies.

but the main and only disadvantage is absense of ability to use mouse-over macroses.

this becomes very useful, when you need to nuke selected target, but meanwhile kill totem w/ ice lance and cast CS on healer.

This addon definitely seems better than ArenaMaster but it would be great if it could synchronize with ArenaMaster and Nurfed_Arena. Thanks!
