I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

Hmm... I must be doing something wrong then. I just retested this. Cleared out all my settings back to default. Created 1 frame to show 1 buff on player. Whitelist is selected. Only filter is "n=Sacred Shield&my". Nothing... Remove the &my and Sacred Shield appears. I tested this with other random paladin buffs and it behaved the same. Fwiw, "Cast By Me" is still grayed out.

One other thing -- Is it possible to have a bar background color that is 100% opaque? Even when setting the alpha to have a fully opaque bar, it isn't, it's something like 80% opaque.

I tried covering it up with kgpanels, but they aren't saving (or applying, or whatever) their strata/frame level data correctly and it's driving me nuts.

edit: It wasn't remembering background level 5 vs background level 0 but it'll remember low level 0 vs low level 1. Worked around it, leaving request up in case there are any other people who want the same.

It is a bug.

Edit:
1) The my filter is working correctly, as its check when looking at a live buff does not depend on castable. Make sure you set your frame to whitelist!

2) Under normal circumstances (c filter not bugged), using c&my is completely redundant and just wasting time for you. Use one or the other, not both together.

Yeah, exactly. But i think any Combat Event related to you will refresh the list, so you will only notice this behaviour when you are testing the setup. When you are actually fighting stuff, things should work out probably....

coh: that was exactly what I was trying to do ("n=sacred shield&my") and I came across the same weird behavior. If I sacred shielded the tank and then cast beacon, it tracked both, but it doesn't pick up SS until Beacon was cast.

I can't get this to work with 3.1.13 either. I get the exact same errors. If I add "&my" to my filters, they just wont show up anymore. Anyone know how to fix it? I already deleted all SavedVariables two times and set it up from scratch -.-

Edit: I think this is not related to "c", i use full spell names in my filter, like "n=sacred shield&my"

Edit: I played around a bit and noticed that i can get the buff to show up eventually... i just have to buff something else afterwards. The filters wont show when they are cast, but one buff later -> it seems they always lag behind for one event.

I don't know if this is a bug or just the way it works in SBF, the problem is only there for "&my" filters tho.

Yep, there's an error (a logic error, not a race condition ) that stems from a different part of the code that is causing the castable filter to misbehave. Thanks for the pointer Lachnoir, it helped me identify the problem in about 20 seconds!

c Filters non-functional

I have been messing about trying to setup some class based debuff filters for my pally the past few days with limited success (I'm using 3.1.13 atm). I've setup a whitelist for target debuffs, filtering only on "c". The end result is that no debuffs ever appear in the frame (I had some other odd behaviour in 3.1.12 so I gave 3.1.13 a shot). The "my" filter does appear to behave correctly however. Curiousity got the bewtter of me and I took a peak at your code and at the contents of the saved variables file. It would appear that the class type is never being saved, hence the problems with the "c" filter.

You've got a bit of a race condition goin on here...

From line 67 of SBFUtil.lua

if (c == self.playerClass) and buff.castable then
self.db.global.spells[buff.name][4] = c
end

For spells that were not found in the db, buff.castable is nil and the class will never be added. Infact buff.castable is set from the return value of the method, hence your race condition (you're testing it before its even been set)

If you need more info from me please let me know...

Of course i could be way off base... I only ever delve into lua when I absolutely have to, so my interpretation of what is going on here could be skewed.

I have a frame of bars set up near my unit frame, set to show buffs from player (whitelist). The filter I'm trying to use is "c&my", so that I'll not be flooded with random procs, nor will I see any other buffs from the same class. I have a similar setup for debuffs on the target. Neither one works, in fact, I can't seem to get any usage out of "c" at all. I don't see it listed on the known bugs section.

No lua errors or anything. Using the current version.

Any ideas?

edit: I can work around it by manually adding an entry for every class buff/debuff with a &my at the end, but I'm going to be setting this up on another 3 or 4 characters, and it's looking pretty daunting to do it that way..

I think this might have gotten buried in my longer post but the vehicle buffs are causing the debuffs to behave strangely.

I have Bar 2 showing my timed buffs and Bar3 showing my debuff. Bar3 is flowing into Bar 2.

Using the Argent Warhorse as an example, if I have 1 or more debuffs (such as the "Bested Thunder Bluff" debuff) whenever I use a vehicle buff (such as Shielf) the debuffs get another copy of themselves in a different part of the screen. They are always in opposite order as well. They go away when I leave the vehicle.

Well, it does support buffaddons, since it works with rBuff that comes with RothUI...

Accidentally - No, mutliple visibility conditions are not currently possible. I thought about it after my initial reaction... it's an interesting idea.

henrik - will do!

richerich - Investigating support for that is on the list. That addon bills itself as a skinner specifically for action buttons, so I have no idea if it would even work with SBF which does not use action buttons, obviously.
