I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

Thank you very much for your answer. The Show Tracking unchecked might be the case. Shame on me if it is. Did not read the full documentation I am sorry to admit. However I will just make one frame set to whitelist a (auras). If I understand you correctly, it will show, auras, tracking and totems.

Thank you for a great addon and taking your time answering noobs like me.

its still a bit bugged with Button Facade borders. I'm using Dek addon for BF and more times than not the boarders are bugged. (not showing up correctly)

I also have 1 suggestion. Make filters its own profiles setup. That way i can set up a universal layout for all my characters and not have to change everyone's profile settings when i change one little thing on my layout or have to redo my filters on all my characters. Because right now I have a ton of filters set for each of my characters but It will be a huge pain when i want to rearrange my layout for all my characters.

EDIT: So I'm thinking its not the borders thats the issue, its the glossy feature from BF. It seems the boarders get a brighter boarder from the gloss feature with Dek. So if there's any way to fix the gloss to work 100% of the time with SBF that would be awsome.

Also another suggestion: Allow the showing of vehicle buffs/debuffs for all custom frames, not just the default player buffs and debuffs frames.

Just popping in to say that my SBF also reset when Ryan7395 posted. It's happened 2 or 3 times since I've started using it. It's a bit of a headache to rebuild it from scratch, but I have no idea what's causing it. But it's certainly not an isolated incident.

That being said, absolutely amazing addon, keep up the great work!

SBF 3.1.18 - Ran into a few little things that need fixing while raiding last night, but have been in meetings all day so far. Should be able to get it done and out a bit later this afternoon!

JStresse - There is no technical reason why negation can't be made to work with any given filter, and negation will be made to work with my in the next filter revamp. The main problem with the ! modifier is that almost everyone makes whitelist frames, and of course every buff will match that sort of filter unless you make a compound filter like n=somebuff&!my.

The problem with just going ahead and making it work is the immediate influx of people going I used !my in my whitelist frame and it shows every buff, SBF sucks/is bugged/you suck!, when in fact we have a case of PEBKAC. However, I still get a huge increase in posts here and email that needs to be dealt with, so these things take time to get right. Changes like this require extra code to validate what the user is inputting to save them from themselves, or at least ask if that's what they really mean to do.

In any case, making the totem filter work correctly for non-shamans is on the list of things to do, and may get done for SBF 3.2

Hey Satrina, sorry if this has been covered already, but I must ask.

How would I go about making a frame that shows only other shamans totems? The reason I ask is simple: I want to see other shaman's totems, that way I can intelligently lay my totems (triple Strength of Earth totem ftl!).

In your filter help window it specifically states that the "my" filter cannot be used with the "!" operator, which is, to my knowledge, what I would have to use in order to set this up correctly.

My filter idea is this: to + !my

I can get it so that only totems show, but I cannot, for the life of me, filter out my own totems. It would be awesome to see the "!" operator work with the "my" filter

Ryan - No clue why it would reset. SBF won't reset its variables through any code means besides /sbf reset. Did you crash or something?

Not sure what's up with BF there, will try to reproduce.


Silentbob - I'm assuming you are not actually using a a&tr filter and that you just didn't stop to think how confusing that might be I'm honestly not sure why two separate filters, a and then tr wouldn't work for you. The tr is actually redundant since the tracking buff is counted by SBF as an aura to begin with. You don't have the Show tracking checkbox unchecked on the global options tab, hm?

If you aren't a shaman, the to filter won't do anything useful for you (as noted in the documentation on the SBF site...)

3.1.18 should be tonight after we finish raiding. Bugfixes and a TOC update for 3.2

I just logged in today, and everything's reset to its default options. Why'd this happen?

Also, SBF is bugged with buttonfacade. Sometimes when I change the default buttonfacade borders and stuff, nothing on SBF changes. Or all the frames but one change. And I can never get quite get it the same as the others.

I am experiencing some minor issues with SBF.

I have created 2 new frames only consisting of icons. Both I have set to whitelist and used default filters

1: Whitelist: a (Auras) & tr (Tracking). However the frame itself shows Auras and Totems, but no tracking

2: Whitelist: to (Totems). The frames shows nothing

Using the latest version, when 'Show tracking' is checked under global options, and I change tracking modes by clicking on the icon, the icon does not update to the new type of tracking. I did not have this issue using previous versions. Apologies if this is already a known issue.

Argh. I want this too. Therefore, I will suggest:

Would it be feasible to implement it as a toggle option? eg, "/sbf fullupdates" (or w/e) followed by "WARNING: enabling multiunit updates in frames may significantly increase SBF's CPU usage. Are you sure?" should satisfy everyone (or at least give you a good excuse to wave your hand at complaints about increased resource use).

And if the user (disables/does not enable) it, then trying to add multiple units to one frame will be grayed out. Preferably with a small "blah blah do this if you want this available" on-hover note to cut down on the number of redundant comments you might receive about "I can't select multiple units help also my kitchen is on fire fix it I hate you".

I have this really snazzy hack for doing that.

You log out, click the AddOns button, scroll down to "SatrinaBuffFrame", and uncheck it.

Or are you specifically asking for a way to dynamically enable/disable the addon while playing? In that case I believe it's a legitimate (ie, unimplemented) feature suggestion.
