Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs

+ SBFOptions will now make the background for names visible when configuring to help you not overlap the icons when positioning (which can cause clicks on icons to not register)

* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle

* Added vehicle to the list of units for buff frames on the general tab

That's very strange. Anyone else experiencing this?

What filters are you using wiky? They seem most often to be the culprit on these strange errors.

i'm so stupid..it's my fault.
i use LibRock Ace console to open sbf config panel, in beta 7 there's just one button to click it to open panel, but in beta 8 "Force default buff frames to hide" is added,so there is two buttons with same title "Options" ,i misread them,i click the first one which is to hide frame to open config panel.so....sorry to bother u, satrina

I've been running this one for several days now without any error except that blasted temp enchants box. The slash key-in you provided works like a dream, but it would be great if that box only showed when it was supposed, and only where I want it it just went away I love the timer bars, they are working perfectly as well. Thanks Satrina

Hmm, I haven't tried setting up a frame for temp enchants yet, but I will. Will let you know if that makes the old box go away.

[edit] I did have to remove all traces of sbf settings files before it would run without error. Once I did that it has worked just fine.

The default UI temp enchant box is never supposed to show with SBF running, since your temp enchants will by default appear in SBF frame 1, or in whatever frame you create and filter them to.

Why (and how!) the default temp enchants are appearing for you is baffling. SBF not only hides the default box, it unregisters its events and clears the anchor points so that even if they were set visible they shouldn't be seen anywhere, since they aren't anchored to anything to be drawn on. The only thing I can think of is another addon that is doing something with them. Something you could try is disabling all addons but SBF and seeing if you still get that.

Thanks Satrina, I'll give that a try. If I find an offending addon I'll post here to let you know

[edit]

I have no idea how these things work, but I did discover that DoTimer, specifically the Ash_PlayerAuras module, is the culprit. I can reproduce the issue by disabling it and then enabling it. It is described as "a replacement for the Blizzard buff/debuff timers". I guess that explains why it goes away when I disable SBF too. I am so sorry for putting you through all that ( ) I can't find any setting that will allow me to disable it within DoTimer, but I don't use that module anyway. So yeah, it's out of there!

Thanks to an excellent bug report I received, I've isolated the "attempt to index field 'enchants'" error on line 1058, which is related to another error that has been previously reported. I'm working on a fix, and when I get it that will be beta 10.

(In the meantime, to make that go away, don't use bars on the left side)

Beta 9 is up! I think and hope it kills the last remaining bugs.

Couple of things outstanding before final release, barring any errors you all may find.
- Weapon enchant names still sometimes go insane.
- Spell durations still get out of whack sometimes. Will adjust that for next release and hopefully finally kill it.
