Auctioneer Suite  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.21c.5521

To receive updates via PM or email when updated, mark as a "Favorite" in the box to the right.

The Auctioneer Suite provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease.

From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.

As you will soon discover, it is much more than a simple "Auctioning AddOn", the Auctioneer Suite also shows in-depth information for all game items, such as those used in quests or recipes, enchanting, milling, prospecting and more.

Numerous other AddOns will also use the Auctioneer statistics you gather via scanning. This is especially true for many of the popular crafting AddOns, such as Little Sparky's Workshop.

Looking for Lightweight and Fast?

Try the "Auctioneer" download from our primary site, rather than the "Auctioneer Suite" we upload to Curse and WoWInterface. All of our downloads are accessible from our primary site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl . This version offers a small footprint, with only the basic "Post" frame and tooltip information to assist in your purchasing decisions.

When updating this time:

Be sure to remove all old files- follow the instructions at http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing .

Please, do not post errors here; instead, kindly visit http://forums.norganna.org/ , our Support Forum, and be sure to search before posting- many questions and errors reported are duplicates.

For the fastest service, various questions are addressed in the Auctioneer FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.orgAuctioneer/FAQ . We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most common issues have been addressed.

Questions, comments, concerns, alphas/betas (when available), bug reports, the occasional bit of praise?

Basic Auctioneer Suite Details

The Auctioneer Suite contains Auctioneer, all of its modules, BeanCounter, Enchantrix and Enchantrix Barker, and Informant to help provide a comprehensive view of item data, whether at the Auction House or out questing. Some highlights are:

Appraiser

An intuitive auction posting frame.
  • Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item.
  • Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
  • Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
  • Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily.
  • Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags; allowing you to quickly post all of your goods.
  • Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
  • Provides the ability to change to a "Simple" view; a bit like the Auctioneer Classic posting interface.
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking and dragging to the column width of your choice.
  • Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button.
    • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items.
    • Shift+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings.
    • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane).
CompactUI

An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface.
  • Displays more auctions per page
  • Displays more data per auction
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking in the column heading and dragging left or right to resize the column to your liking
  • Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
  • Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
  • Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Statistic Modules

There are a variety of fully customizable statistic modules included with Auctioneer that can provide a variety of pricing information- all based upon your needs.
  • "Market Price" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
  • Auc-Stat-Histogram - Returns Median and IQR values, based upon a Histogram of pricing data. Essentially, a median value, based upon all prices ever seen; no data is ever discarded.
  • Auc-Stat-iLevel - Statistics modules that groups all items of same rarity, type, and iLevel together (e.g. all green weapons of iLevel 180). Useful for pricing random "of the ..." items.
  • Auc-Stat-Purchased - Statistics module that tries to infer purchase prices based on items disappearing before they could have expired. (Requires more frequent scanning of the AH)
  • Auc-Stat-Sales – Uses data from BeanCounter to display historical statistics on actual purchase and sale prices. Note that this statistic is installed along with BeanCounter, and cannot be installed separately.
  • Auc-Stat-Simple - Statistics module that performs simple averaging of data, converted daily to exponential moving averages of the orders 3, 7 and 14.
  • Auc-Stat-StdDev - Statistics module that keeps the last 100 price points for an item and performs a standard deviation on the data list to exclude outliers from the sample space and provide a normalized mean.
  • Auc-Stat-WOWEcon - Statistics module that uses the WOWEcon AddOn's data (if separately installed) to provide the price to other Auctioneer modules.
  • Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality!
SearchUI

An Auctioneer Utility that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying and, or, bidding.
  • Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
    • Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
    • Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armor and weapons
    • Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
    • Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
  • The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
  • Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so
BeanCounter

An associated AddOn that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your overall and item-specific profitability.
  • Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
  • Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
  • Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
Enchantrix

Enchantrix displays values for disenchanting, milling, and prospecting; plus suggested values for selling enchants. Enchantrix can also automate disenchanting, milling and prospecting. Some baseline pricing is built in, but Enchantrix also uses values from Auctioneer to provide up-to-date prices for your server/faction. Enchantrix also includes controls to let you customize the pricing by enchant material (fixed prices and weighting).

Informant

Informant displays additional information about items in their tooltips: buy price; sell price; item level; what quests, classes or professions use the item; the value of the item produced by a recipe; etc. Informant can also tell you what vendors sell a given item.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Once a user moves to the Auction House (AH) and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.
In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the AH. Sometimes, the prices and value of your items can be wildly different compared to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.
Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.
The Auctioneer Suite can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve.
When you go to the Auction House (AH) for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire AH. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.
Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If Auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.
When you select an item in the full or simple "Appraiser" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right, receipt window, including how it has arrived at its prices.
When you place an item in the SimpleAuction, "Post" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum bid, a buyout price, and display relevant data, including the deposit and more.

What are the available pricing models, or statistics, again?

There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/FAQ.

Conclusion

We hope this helps people to understand the Auctioneer Suite a bit better.

Happy Auctioneering!!

Nikk and the rest of the Team at Norganna's AddOns.

Auctioneer users,

We are pleased to announce the release of Auctioneer Suite release version 5.21c for WoW 6.0.3 (Warlords of Draenor), the "Sanctimonious Swamprat".

Bugfix changes from 5.21b Release:
* Fixed problem with undercut on Post tab
* Updates to Enchantrix yields
* Additional Scanner throttle tweaks, to try to mitigate the issues with disconnects during Fast Scans
* Tweaks to garbage collection to try to mitigate memory allocation crash issues
* Preparatory clean-up for the move to a single AH model

* Next and Prev buttons not showing up properly when using skins such as ElvUI - needs to be fixed in your skinning addons. Until these skinning addons are corrected, you can either disable CompactUI, or disable skinning the AH in your skinning addon

* Some attempts to fix the disconnection issues some users see when using a Fast Scan
** New Scanner setting - "Throttle Scanning stage during fast scans" - try this and see if it helps.
** When you enable this setting, you should probably change a few other settings first:
** Set FPS back to around 25 (Throttle effectively quadruples the FPS setting)
** Set Time-to-Live to 5 or less
** Set Unresolved Auctions Tolerance up to 10 or more
** (Slowing down Scanning too much can result in unresolvable auctions - these two settings mitigate that a bit, at the expense of permitting a tiny number of 'errors' to be ignored)
** As usual, if you're having issues, try using a less populated AH, or scanning at off-hours, and see if that helps with your issue.

Known Caveats:
* Does not yet combine all AHs into a single AH.
* Fast scan causes some users to DC, still.
* BeanCounter still requires some additional TLC to get completely functional
* We will also need new localization translations for non-English locales, as the mail strings that BeanCounter uses to match items have changed

You can always find the latest preview and release quality versions of Auctioneer at our website: http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/

Thanks!

Re: lockup

ootek,

You may have a corrupt Auc-ScanData.lua file. Simply go in and remove it from \WorldofWarcraft\Interface\WTF\Account\<YourWoWAccountName>\SavedVariables . That has no affect on the statistics, since they are stored elsewhere.

Let us know of your results.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Auctioneer and Auctioneer Suite 5.7.4568 Released

Auctioneeros,

We are pleased to release Auctioneer and the Auctioneer Suite 5.7, the KillerKoala, which is fully compatible with World of Warcraft 3.3.x.

Just under 140 changes, fixes, and, or, enhancements by our volunteer staff this time.

First, a much deserved Well Done! to all of the people who have devoted numerous hours over the past months to help ensure that the Auctioneer Suite remains the most-used Auction House and general item data set of AddOns! Please join us in welcoming Weltmeister to the team, who has decided to tackle the Glypher module, details below, and has really hit the ground running. Also, we have to mention Mikk’s work on optimization. That effort has produced some of the most marked increases in processing agility, across nearly the entire Suite, since moving to the new framework. The changes may not necessarily be seen, but will surely be felt when scanning or looking up items on the live Auction House, searching with SearchUI, mousing- over items to view their tooltips, using BeanCounter, and much more.

As shown in the Current commits (changes, enhancements, fixes) post, linked below, there are numerous other fixes, enhancements, and more. Enjoy WoW 3.3 and thank you for choosing the Auctioneer Suite!

* Please be sure to read and follow http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing
* There have been a few changes this time, so a full remove/reinstall is recommended.
* Be sure that the Auc-Util-FixAH module is installed and has a gold checkmark next to its entry in the main WoW AddOns Control Panel. That helps to prevent two issues that were introduced and not fixed by Blizzard as of this writing.
* All of the very latest http://Localizer.Norganna.Org language string updates have been imported and will be displayed in your localized client.
* We are continually in need of help localizing the ongoing changes to Auctioneer, BeanCounter, Enchantrix, Informant, and the other AddOns listed at http://Localizer.Norganna.Org .
* "Registering" takes only moments and you can be on your way... it is quite simple. Even if you only have the time/inclination to help with a few translations, that will be better than what we have now for some of the locales.
* Before starting, kindly take a look at http://forums.norganna.org/discussio...lation-format/ for some basic thoughts.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk and the rest of the family at Norganna’s AddOns

Highlights:

Auctioneer
* Numerous enhancements Suite-wide to increase processing speed, efficiency, et cetera.
* Market Price can be set to display per each or stack pricing on the main, Core options panel and, or, the Tooltip configuration pane.
* Whenever a setting is changed throughout Auctioneer that could impact the Market Price recommendation, the cache (database of saved pricing information) is now properly cleared and recalculated to ensure that pricing is as exact as possible.
* If an auction cannot be posted due to lack of bag space, Auctioneer will attempt to post all other auctions in the queue to free up space before retrying the unpostable auction again. If there is still no space for unstacking after attempting to post all auctions, the user will be notified that the item(s) cannot be posted.
* Enhancements to the /auc clear [item] command. All information for an item should be reset after issuing the command.
* Post warning/text messages clarified to be a bit more informative.
Auctioneer/Appraiser
* Prices for an item will no longer persist after issuing the /auc clear [item] command.
* If Appraiser columns have been re-ordered, the column sort will be properly saved between sessions.
* Option added to hide/remove the Appraiser tab from the Appraiser options window.
* Appraiser’s tooltip input now can be set on the core Tooltip options screen, as well as the Appraiser submenu.
Auctioneer/AskPrice
* The /askprice send command has been clarified; its definition is now /askprice send <Player> <#>[Item] (where <#> is the optional stacksize). I.E. /askprice send Joe 20[Goldbloom] will send the pricing information for a stack of 20 Goldbloom to Joe.
Auctioneer/AutoMagic
* Added close (X) buttons to AutoMagic’s Mail Loader and Auto Vendor windows.
* Added buttons/functionality to control the items suggested for sale in the Auto Vendor window. The user can select an item and then choose Ignore, Unignore , and, or Remove this time only .
Auctioneer/Glypher
* Introduction of the Glypher utility within the Auctioneer Suite! This utility contains numerous functions to assist the Scribe when deciding which glyphs to create, assists in their creation, and much more. For details, see http://wiki.norganna.org/Auc-Util-Glypher .
Auctioneer/ScanFinish
* The customizable events upon scan completion, such as emote, et cetera should now fire upon completion of all full scans, both slow and fast.
Auctioneer/SearchUI
* Code optimized to allow for faster searching and purchasing.
* The way that SearchUI handles the Queued Purchases counter has been adjusted to include the current item (and its price) when the Yes/No Prompt is displayed. Clicking the Cancel Queue button will also clear the prompt.
Auctioneer/SimpleAuction
* The tab is now, properly, removable from the SimpleAuction configuration page.
BeanCounter
* The BeanCounterMatcher will now accept a serverKey option. Allowing results for servers other than the current server.
* Full neutral AH support added, neutral Auctions are now stored in their own database, per player. New filters added to search routines for API and internal searches. By default, neutral transactions are not displayed in BeanCounter’s report. Use the checkbox to show along with the faction AH data, as before, or use the select box to display ONLY neutral AH data.
* Adds API call to BeanCounter allowing external AddOns to prompt a player to permanently remove all records of a specific item from the database. BeanCounter.API.deleteItem( itemLink )
* Numerous code and database optimizations, including speed enhancements and better handling of suffix (of the xxx) items.
Enchantrix
* Constants updated to reflect most readily available data for all items.
* Infinite Dust yields updated to reflect changes made by Blizzard.
* Corrected disenchanting skill required for iLevel 152+ blue/rare items.
Informant
* Updated with the most recent item data as of 3.2. Some items will not necessarily be correct for 3.3 until the specifics can be documented and the changes made. We will have another release once that data is ready.
* Recipes will show the resultant item and basic valuations for the item. when upgrading your installation.

A new Auctioneer Beta was just posted, since you are using a beta already, go ahead and download/install the new one, then see if the error persists.

Let us know of your findings,

Re: undeleted items

Pilda,

In regards to SearchUI, your best bet is to use the GetAll scan, via the "fast forward" button found in the top of the Browse frame, in the scan control area. That will help ensure that your results are the most current. Run each of your searches as soon as the scan ends and work on filtering out items that you do not care to see, as they will only take up time/attention from the goods in which you are interested. Until you re-scan, there is the chance, in the current version, that items you previously purchased will re-appear. We plan to take some steps to change that, but it is not one of the higher priority issues.

Any time you do use SearchUI, especially on larger and, or, busier AHes, there is always the chance that items will be purchased by the time you issue the bid/buy command, but that is just the way of the game.

The issue with BeanCounter is puzzling, it should be working just fine. Please post what specifics you are seeing in the BeanCounter discussion on our main site at http://Forums.Norganna.Org . You will need to create a login, but it takes about fifteen seconds and we do not use anyone's information for nefarious purposes.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

I have a problem with this great addon. If I want to find and buy anything I have found via search UI, almost all items are sold even if I updated the database before the search. Then if I want to search some other stuff there, I can see the items I bought before again.

I tryied two lasest stable versions and one beta. I have also problems with BeanCounter. It doesn't want to show anything.

Thank you and bye.

Laine,

The notice is from the AucDB module, which is updated from our http://AuctioneerDB.Com website. As of right now, the site is offline and its longterm availability is not certain. For now, you should simply disable the AucDB entry from the main WoW AddOns Control Panel.

As to backing up, see http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/Backup .

For BatchPosting, see http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/AucAdvanced/BatchPost .

Nikk

I've been using Auc for months without issue, but recently I've noticed my tooltip's Auc data telling me that my database is xx days old (xx=45 today) and that i should update it, even though I still do complete scans on the AH daily. The tooltip data still shows me average price data for 3, 7 & 14 days just as it always has. How can I know if the prices are updating properly?

2nd question: Which files do I need to back up in case of issues? Historical price data is obviously something I'd like to keep, but also other data like Auc's option settings and whether or not an item has Batch Posting enabled.

3rd question: Is it possible to select multiple items in a bag to enable batch posting for lots of items at once? That would be a huge time saver for someone who buys & sells lots of greens, especially at the rate new gear comes out.

Thanks!

Laine

32103940,

There is nothing you can do to prevent the scan from ending abruptly or a disk write from not completing appropriately.

To help reduce such issues, allow the scan to complete before moving to other activities and always use the logout/close options from the "ESC" menu. Both will minimize the chances of any such issues.

Nikk

Re: Help with usage?

Theeo123,

Yes and no... you can use the undercutting, setting as you desire under Matchers -> Undercut and then set rounding under the Appraiser options.

The rounding was added as a "nice extra" and, as such, does not show in the pricing before the item is actually posted. Your best bet is to try it and adjust the settings until your desired result is achieved.

Nikk

I want to use Auctioneers undercutting mechanism but I also would like it to then round to certain values. for example if the suggested price is 15g 37s 22c to round that to 14g 99s 99c I think I found portion of the options dialog for configuring such behavior, but can't seem to get it to work.

Re: Problem with PCT

TikTokk,

Try to disable the AucDB entry out in the main WoW AddOns Control Panel. AucDB is currently down, so the data is outdated. The status is currently up in the air, so, for now, it is best to disable it. That contributes to the Market Price and is likely the cause of your issue.

Let us know of your results,

Nikk

However, it didn't used to be like this: items would either show up as a mixture of green, yellow, blue, red depending on the cost of the item. For example, when I browse linen cloth...no matter what its priced at it shows up as red and >999%.

Is this due to a setting that I accidentally altered. I try not to go into the settings to much 'cause I find them a bit..errm confusing :P

Thanks for any help!
