To receive updates via PM or email when updated, mark as a "Favorite" in the box to the right.

The Auctioneer Suite provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease.

From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.

As you will soon discover, it is much more than a simple "Auctioning AddOn", the Auctioneer Suite also shows in-depth information for all game items, such as those used in quests or recipes, enchanting, milling, prospecting and more.

Numerous other AddOns will also use the Auctioneer statistics you gather via scanning. This is especially true for many of the popular crafting AddOns, such as Little Sparky's Workshop.

Looking for Lightweight and Fast?

Try the "Auctioneer" download from our primary site, rather than the "Auctioneer Suite" we upload to Curse and WoWInterface. All of our downloads are accessible from our primary site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl . This version offers a small footprint, with only the basic "Post" frame and tooltip information to assist in your purchasing decisions.

When updating this time:

Be sure to remove all old files- follow the instructions at http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing .

Please, do not post errors here; instead, kindly visit http://forums.norganna.org/ , our Support Forum, and be sure to search before posting- many questions and errors reported are duplicates.

For the fastest service, various questions are addressed in the Auctioneer FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.orgAuctioneer/FAQ . We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most common issues have been addressed.

Questions, comments, concerns, alphas/betas (when available), bug reports, the occasional bit of praise?

Basic Auctioneer Suite Details

The Auctioneer Suite contains Auctioneer, all of its modules, BeanCounter, Enchantrix and Enchantrix Barker, and Informant to help provide a comprehensive view of item data, whether at the Auction House or out questing. Some highlights are:

Appraiser

An intuitive auction posting frame.
  • Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item.
  • Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
  • Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
  • Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily.
  • Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags; allowing you to quickly post all of your goods.
  • Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
  • Provides the ability to change to a "Simple" view; a bit like the Auctioneer Classic posting interface.
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking and dragging to the column width of your choice.
  • Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button.
    • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items.
    • Shift+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings.
    • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane).
CompactUI

An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface.
  • Displays more auctions per page
  • Displays more data per auction
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking in the column heading and dragging left or right to resize the column to your liking
  • Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
  • Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
  • Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Statistic Modules

There are a variety of fully customizable statistic modules included with Auctioneer that can provide a variety of pricing information- all based upon your needs.
  • "Market Price" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
  • Auc-Stat-Histogram - Returns Median and IQR values, based upon a Histogram of pricing data. Essentially, a median value, based upon all prices ever seen; no data is ever discarded.
  • Auc-Stat-iLevel - Statistics modules that groups all items of same rarity, type, and iLevel together (e.g. all green weapons of iLevel 180). Useful for pricing random "of the ..." items.
  • Auc-Stat-Purchased - Statistics module that tries to infer purchase prices based on items disappearing before they could have expired. (Requires more frequent scanning of the AH)
  • Auc-Stat-Sales – Uses data from BeanCounter to display historical statistics on actual purchase and sale prices. Note that this statistic is installed along with BeanCounter, and cannot be installed separately.
  • Auc-Stat-Simple - Statistics module that performs simple averaging of data, converted daily to exponential moving averages of the orders 3, 7 and 14.
  • Auc-Stat-StdDev - Statistics module that keeps the last 100 price points for an item and performs a standard deviation on the data list to exclude outliers from the sample space and provide a normalized mean.
  • Auc-Stat-WOWEcon - Statistics module that uses the WOWEcon AddOn's data (if separately installed) to provide the price to other Auctioneer modules.
  • Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality!
SearchUI

An Auctioneer Utility that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying and, or, bidding.
  • Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
    • Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
    • Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armor and weapons
    • Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
    • Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
  • The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
  • Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so
BeanCounter

An associated AddOn that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your overall and item-specific profitability.
  • Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
  • Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
  • Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
Enchantrix

Enchantrix displays values for disenchanting, milling, and prospecting; plus suggested values for selling enchants. Enchantrix can also automate disenchanting, milling and prospecting. Some baseline pricing is built in, but Enchantrix also uses values from Auctioneer to provide up-to-date prices for your server/faction. Enchantrix also includes controls to let you customize the pricing by enchant material (fixed prices and weighting).

Informant

Informant displays additional information about items in their tooltips: buy price; sell price; item level; what quests, classes or professions use the item; the value of the item produced by a recipe; etc. Informant can also tell you what vendors sell a given item.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Once a user moves to the Auction House (AH) and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.
In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the AH. Sometimes, the prices and value of your items can be wildly different compared to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.
Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.
The Auctioneer Suite can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve.
When you go to the Auction House (AH) for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire AH. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.
Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If Auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.
When you select an item in the full or simple "Appraiser" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right, receipt window, including how it has arrived at its prices.
When you place an item in the SimpleAuction, "Post" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum bid, a buyout price, and display relevant data, including the deposit and more.

What are the available pricing models, or statistics, again?

There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/FAQ.

Conclusion

We hope this helps people to understand the Auctioneer Suite a bit better.

Happy Auctioneering!!

Nikk and the rest of the Team at Norganna's AddOns.

Auctioneer users,

We are pleased to announce the release of Auctioneer Suite release version 7.1 for WoW 7.0 (Legion), the "Tasmanian Thylacine".

Please note: upgrading to a 7.x version from a 5.x version will reset your BeanCounter history. We apologize for this, but Blizzard changed the format of their itemStrings in such a way that we have found no effective way to match historical BeanCounter entries with the current, new items.

This is our second Legion release. There are still some issues being caused by Blizzard bugs which we hope will be fixed in future WoW updates. There may also be pieces of historical Auctioneer functionality that are still broken or which do not work fully or efficiently. If you experience issues or errors, please report them to us on our forums.

Changes from 7.0 Release:
* Fixes to better handle when WoW fails to return item and auction data
* Category scanning is fixed
* Fixes Appraiser sorting by time left
* Fixes searcher problems with some new item links
* Some tooltip tweaks
* Fixes some issues in the system that prevents multiple copies of our libraries from loading

Known Caveats:
* Scanning - scanning is still often slow or unreliable. In addition to the normal Blizzard server lagginess which sometimes occurs around new WoW versions and expansions, this is because...
* CRZ sharding – one of the new Legion changes allows zones to attach and break up with other realms in order to maintain a stable population size. Unfortunately, this now sometimes occurs in the AH zones, and when it happens it can cause unintended side effects (read: errors, missing data, or silent failures) in the AH. There’s not much we can do about this except wait for a Blizzard fix.
* Resizable tooltips are not currently implemented, due issues with new Blizzard code which caused flickering. This causes some tooltips to cover up other wow UI windows.
* We have received reports of BeanCounter not tracking all auctions properly. We are still looking into this.
* Placeholder values for disenchanting percentages are in place, however exact values will continue to evolve as data is collected from the final Legion release

Luciant,

Yes, TipTac is unfortunately one of the few that tend to cause issues. There is an interplay between the two addons that causes the behavior, but neither causes issues when used alone.

Feel free to put in a request for the Tiptac author to visit us sometime in our IRC channel, via the top bar of AuctioneerAddOn.Com. As long as someone is around, we will be happy to work with them to sort out what we can, both, do to "fix" the issue.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

Luciant,

With Advanced, all of the various "extras" have not been added, hence the alpha/Preview status. Our volunteer developers tend to work on issues which our end users display an interest. To register your interest, visit our "trouble ticket system", http://Jira.Norganna.Org , quickly create a user ID, and vote for the ticket requesting that the ability to embed data within the original tooltip be returned. http://jira.norganna.org/browse/ADV-87

By the way, the tooltips really should not overlap- what tooltip addon are you using to cause such behavior?

Thank you,

Nikk

The pause only occurs once per session upon your first AH use- Auctioneer Classic actually added the delay to the game start up by default, so that is most likely why you would not have noticed it there. heh, thats why I use Advanced... that Appraiser is the shiznitz. What you now call "Classic", was only useful to me for the Informant... at least thats all I really used it for back when you guys first developed Auctioneer. Other modules of Advanced are useful I suppose, but I haven't explored those yet.

So the sound issue has existed for a while? I honestly did not notice it until I installed this Advanced Update, and I assumed it was due to the fact that it automatically opens my bags. Inventory addons like Onebag, etc. do not blast sound, so I assumed it was a bug of Auctioneer. The pause I'd noticed, but not the sound. Maybe I'm just getting old. Between the noise and the pause, I thought maybe my UI was just short of crashing, but all the loading and stuff makes sense.

Thanks for the response!

Greetings Ahren,

All versions of Auctioneer function perfectly well on the Mac, as well as Windows and the various emulators running over *ux.

In general, recommend that you download directly from the main site, http://AuctioneerAddOn.Com/dl/ , then select "Auctioneer Advanced Suite" or if you want both versions, select the "Full Suite".
**Note, if you do not want both versions, ensure you delete the folders pertaining to the unwanted or unused version.

The full installation instructions, accessed via http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing, list the files to remove if you are upgrading- obviously, if you have never installed Auctioneer previously, then there will be no Auctioneer files that need to be removed. =)
  • Exit the World of Warcraft game completely.
  • Simply download the current version to your desktop.
  • Uncompress/Unzip the file-
    • The "Full Suite" contains sixteen (16) folders that you will then place in the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns folder.
    • The "Auctioneer Advanced Suite", when unzipped, will contain fifteen (15) folders that you will then place in the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns folder.
    • After moving the folders, start World of Warcraft as usual and then visit the main Addon manager, accessed via a button in the lower left of the Character Selection screen.
      • Ensure that all of the Auctioneer-related items have a gold checkmark in the checkbox.
        • Use the list from the installation instructions in order to discern which AddOns pertain to Auctioneer.
      • Ensure that the "Load Out of date Addons" checkbox has a checkmark.
**If you do not see any Auctioneer-related items in the AddOn Manager, then some error occurred along the way- simply go back to the beginning of the full installation instructions and start again. All of the compressed files have been verified on numerous systems and environments, so there is no other issue possible. By repeating the steps, in full, you ensure that the download is not corrupted, et cetera.

Please be sure to visit the main site and review the message boards and the wiki for tons of valuable information- http://WWW.AuctioneerAddOn.Com/.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

Hello again Gaenjin,

The AuctioneerAddOn.Com "membership" simply requires that you click a link in an email that is automatically generated- a step to help ensure you are not a bot. =)

As for the sound issue, that is caused because Auctioneer Advanced is actually grabbing all of the items in your bags that are auctionable and placing them into the Appraiser Frame. This allows the pricing to be determined, including the posting fees.

The "cacophony" has been around since Blizzard messed with some sound functions a few patches ago. We are looking into ways to mute the sound, but it may well not be possible- we shall see.

Suite version, because I noticed it immediately after I upgraded, so I removed my Addon and WTF folders and I tested with clean and fresh WTF (deleted config.wtf file) and clean and fresh Addons folders, and compared Auctioneer Auc Advanced Suite, against Auc Advanced and Auc Classic.

This sound issue only occurs on Auc Advanced Suite, and I tried to isolate which addon was its cause, but found that it occured with only the Auc-Adv (core), Stubby and Enhtooltip modules enabled, so it must be one of the embeds that are installed with the Advanced Suite, but not installed with the Auc Advanced package.

The issue: The first time I click on an Auctioneer and open the Auctioneer UI, I get a cacaphony of sounds. It almost sounds like the mouseover sounds of every item in my inventory are being played at once, along with the Auctioneer "bell".

If I close and open the UI, all I hear is the bell. The only time I hear this "cacaphony of sounds" is after a log out, then when I open the UI for the first time.

There is also a big pause when I first open the UI, that does not occur again, until after I log out and log back in... I am not sure if this is related, but that pause occurs on the Auc Advanced as well... I don't recall seeing the pause on Classic.

I'd appreciate it if you passed this along to your developers. I wanted to post this on your site, but the membership signup appears to take time for validation, and I've spent a few hours investigating this and would rather get my WoW installation back to normal and get on with my gameplay.

Kerecha,

As per the posts at the main site, http://Forums.Norganna.Org/4/ , you open the options screen, go to core options and uncheck the box next to Show Post Summary Scan.Options can be found via the Configure button on the top right of the Appraiser Frame or via the wee Auctioneer button on the SlideBar, usually located just below the Minimap. Specifically -> Core Options - General - UnCheck "Show End of Scan Summary" You can also redirect all of the Auctioneer Advanced output to any chat window, General->Preferred Output Window-> pick one.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

Luciant,

You can access Enchantrix Barker via the Enchantrix button on the SlideBar menu, installed by default just below the minimap. The current method is to only allow the barking of Enchants that the Enchanter has the materials to complete.

There is a ticket in to change the methodology, but since Enchantrix obtains recommended Barked prices from the materials on hand- there is not much we can do.

The main thrust of Enchantrix Barker is to automatically set the pricing of Enchantments for the user, based on the user's chosen mark-up percentage. One thought was to simply allow the user to enter prices and such, but there are all ready other AddOns that do such things.

Hope this sheds some light on your query,

Nikk

World of Warcraft 2.4.1.8125

Auctioneeros,

Yet another release with more goodies, such as the ability to "update the pricing of all items in the Appraiser" window as a group and fixes for issues such as the ipairs bug.

Also, if you do not read the changelog, the middle tab when viewing an AddOn here at WoWI, would suggest that you do so. There are some relatively big additions- such as using CTRL+Left Click to selectively scan the highlighted categories and much, much more. The full changelog is accessible via our main site at AuctioneerAddOn.Com.

Enjoy,

Nikk

Hello again,

Ok, better, you must have had some error catcher other than our enabled that was catching, and not showing you the errors.

The ip... error has been fixed and the fix will be in the next version- we will release the version here on WoWI, on our site, and on Curse.

Thank you,

Nikk
