The Auctioneer Suite provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease.

From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.

As you will soon discover, it is much more than a simple "Auctioning AddOn", the Auctioneer Suite also shows in-depth information for all game items, such as those used in quests or recipes, enchanting, milling, prospecting and more.

Numerous other AddOns will also use the Auctioneer statistics you gather via scanning. This is especially true for many of the popular crafting AddOns, such as Little Sparky's Workshop.

Looking for Lightweight and Fast?

Try the "Auctioneer" download from our primary site, rather than the "Auctioneer Suite" we upload to Curse and WoWInterface. All of our downloads are accessible from our primary site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl . This version offers a small footprint, with only the basic "Post" frame and tooltip information to assist in your purchasing decisions.

When updating this time:

Be sure to remove all old files- follow the instructions at http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing .

Please, do not post errors here; instead, kindly visit http://forums.norganna.org/ , our Support Forum, and be sure to search before posting- many questions and errors reported are duplicates.

For the fastest service, various questions are addressed in the Auctioneer FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.orgAuctioneer/FAQ . We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most common issues have been addressed.

Basic Auctioneer Suite Details

The Auctioneer Suite contains Auctioneer, all of its modules, BeanCounter, Enchantrix and Enchantrix Barker, and Informant to help provide a comprehensive view of item data, whether at the Auction House or out questing. Some highlights are:

Appraiser

An intuitive auction posting frame.
  • Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item.
  • Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
  • Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
  • Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily.
  • Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags; allowing you to quickly post all of your goods.
  • Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
  • Provides the ability to change to a "Simple" view; a bit like the Auctioneer Classic posting interface.
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking and dragging to the column width of your choice.
  • Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button.
    • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items.
    • Shift+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings.
    • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane).
CompactUI

An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface.
  • Displays more auctions per page
  • Displays more data per auction
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking in the column heading and dragging left or right to resize the column to your liking
  • Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
  • Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
  • Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Statistic Modules

There are a variety of fully customizable statistic modules included with Auctioneer that can provide a variety of pricing information- all based upon your needs.
  • "Market Price" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
  • Auc-Stat-Histogram - Returns Median and IQR values, based upon a Histogram of pricing data. Essentially, a median value, based upon all prices ever seen; no data is ever discarded.
  • Auc-Stat-iLevel - Statistics modules that groups all items of same rarity, type, and iLevel together (e.g. all green weapons of iLevel 180). Useful for pricing random "of the ..." items.
  • Auc-Stat-Purchased - Statistics module that tries to infer purchase prices based on items disappearing before they could have expired. (Requires more frequent scanning of the AH)
  • Auc-Stat-Sales – Uses data from BeanCounter to display historical statistics on actual purchase and sale prices. Note that this statistic is installed along with BeanCounter, and cannot be installed separately.
  • Auc-Stat-Simple - Statistics module that performs simple averaging of data, converted daily to exponential moving averages of the orders 3, 7 and 14.
  • Auc-Stat-StdDev - Statistics module that keeps the last 100 price points for an item and performs a standard deviation on the data list to exclude outliers from the sample space and provide a normalized mean.
  • Auc-Stat-WOWEcon - Statistics module that uses the WOWEcon AddOn's data (if separately installed) to provide the price to other Auctioneer modules.
  • Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality!
SearchUI

An Auctioneer Utility that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying and, or, bidding.
  • Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
    • Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
    • Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armor and weapons
    • Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
    • Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
  • The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
  • Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so
BeanCounter

An associated AddOn that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your overall and item-specific profitability.
  • Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
  • Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
  • Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
Enchantrix

Enchantrix displays values for disenchanting, milling, and prospecting; plus suggested values for selling enchants. Enchantrix can also automate disenchanting, milling and prospecting. Some baseline pricing is built in, but Enchantrix also uses values from Auctioneer to provide up-to-date prices for your server/faction. Enchantrix also includes controls to let you customize the pricing by enchant material (fixed prices and weighting).

Informant

Informant displays additional information about items in their tooltips: buy price; sell price; item level; what quests, classes or professions use the item; the value of the item produced by a recipe; etc. Informant can also tell you what vendors sell a given item.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Once a user moves to the Auction House (AH) and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.
In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the AH. Sometimes, the prices and value of your items can be wildly different compared to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.
Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.
The Auctioneer Suite can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve.
When you go to the Auction House (AH) for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire AH. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.
Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If Auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.
When you select an item in the full or simple "Appraiser" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right, receipt window, including how it has arrived at its prices.
When you place an item in the SimpleAuction, "Post" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum bid, a buyout price, and display relevant data, including the deposit and more.

What are the available pricing models, or statistics, again?

There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/FAQ.

Conclusion

We hope this helps people to understand the Auctioneer Suite a bit better.

Happy Auctioneering!!

Nikk and the rest of the Team at Norganna's AddOns.

Auctioneer users,

We are pleased to announce the release of Auctioneer Suite release version 7.1 for WoW 7.0 (Legion), the "Tasmanian Thylacine".

Please note: upgrading to a 7.x version from a 5.x version will reset your BeanCounter history. We apologize for this, but Blizzard changed the format of their itemStrings in such a way that we have found no effective way to match historical BeanCounter entries with the current, new items.

This is our second Legion release. There are still some issues being caused by Blizzard bugs which we hope will be fixed in future WoW updates. There may also be pieces of historical Auctioneer functionality that are still broken or which do not work fully or efficiently. If you experience issues or errors, please report them to us on our forums.

Changes from 7.0 Release:
* Fixes to better handle when WoW fails to return item and auction data
* Category scanning is fixed
* Fixes Appraiser sorting by time left
* Fixes searcher problems with some new item links
* Some tooltip tweaks
* Fixes some issues in the system that prevents multiple copies of our libraries from loading

Known Caveats:
* Scanning - scanning is still often slow or unreliable. In addition to the normal Blizzard server lagginess which sometimes occurs around new WoW versions and expansions, this is because...
* CRZ sharding – one of the new Legion changes allows zones to attach and break up with other realms in order to maintain a stable population size. Unfortunately, this now sometimes occurs in the AH zones, and when it happens it can cause unintended side effects (read: errors, missing data, or silent failures) in the AH. There’s not much we can do about this except wait for a Blizzard fix.
* Resizable tooltips are not currently implemented, due issues with new Blizzard code which caused flickering. This causes some tooltips to cover up other wow UI windows.
* We have received reports of BeanCounter not tracking all auctions properly. We are still looking into this.
* Placeholder values for disenchanting percentages are in place, however exact values will continue to evolve as data is collected from the final Legion release

Auctioneer and Auctioneer Suite 5.9.4961 Released!

Auctioneeros,

We are pleased to release Auctioneer and Auctioneer Suite 5.9, the Whacky Wallaby, which is fully compatible with World of Warcraft 4.x.

Roughly 75 changes, fixes, and, or, enhancements by our volunteer staff this time. There was some work required for 4.x compatibility, but most of that went off without a hitch.

All of our volunteers have put in a lot of time to help ensure that the Auctioneer Suite will help meet your Auction House and general item data needs. Special thanks to Kandoko and Brykrys for their efforts to ensure that everything is running smoothly in the 4.0 environs and the LibDataBroker changeover! Not to leave out CCox for ensuring that Enchantrix is available to all of our AH players, Scribes and Enchanting friends, Hirsute for his efforts to keep Informant alive and up to date, and GhostfromTexas for keeping a close eye on EasyBuyOut.

Thank you to everyone who has coded, tested, documented, and hung out; without you, what would be the point, right? =)

As shown in the “Current commits (changes, enhancements, fixes)” subsection, there are numerous other fixes, enhancements, and more. Be sure to check them out!

One forward-looking comment, too! There is a big change coming to SearchUI, likely in the next release, to include easier “profile” and, or, saved settings.

* Please be sure to read and follow http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing when upgrading your installation.
** There have been a few changes this time, so a *full* removal/reinstall is recommended.
** Be sure that the Auc-Util-FixAH module is installed and has a gold checkmark next to its entry in the main WoW AddOns Control Panel. That helps to prevent a paging issue when searching via the “Browse” frame.
* All of the very latest http://Localizer.Norganna.Org language string updates have been imported and will be displayed in your localized client.
** We are continually in need of help localizing the ongoing changes to Auctioneer, BeanCounter, Enchantrix, Informant, and the other AddOns listed at http://Localizer.Norganna.Org - especially deDE.
** "Registering" takes only moments and you can be on your way... it is quite simple. Even if you only have the time/inclination to help with a few translations, that will be better than what we have now for some of the locales.
** Before starting, kindly take a look at http://forums.norganna.org/discussio...lation-format/ for some basic thoughts.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk and the rest of the family at Norganna’s AddOns

Highlights:

Overall
* Move to LibDataBroker across the entire Suite and transformation of SlideBar to a LDB “bar mod” in its own right.
** If you see many AddOns dropping into SlideBar, that you do not want there, adjust the settings via the main Blizzard AddOn configuration to add/remove buttons.
* Glypher and GlypherPost should not error, but should not be expected to function at this juncture. There are reports of both working, but we have not had enough time to check them out thoroughly – and due to the area manager’s departure, it may not happen.
* Please realize that the new post/auction creation “OK” box is a Blizzard requirement, not something we dreamed up to make your life more difficult.
Auctioneer
* Numerous enhancements Suite-wide to increase stability, squash bugs, updates for 4.x, and more. (Those using Auctioneer’s scanning, data, or other functions/information should double-check to ensure there AddOns/scripts are not affected.)
Auctioneer/AutoMagic
* You can now drag an item to the auto vendor prompt to have it added to the autosell list.
Informant
* Data updated, look for 4.0/Cataclysm update after it launches in December.

Current commits (changes, enhancements, fixes):
Revision: 4959 Continues [ADV-574] Auc-Util-FixAH clean up and removal of MessageAPIFix.

Revision: 4952 ADV-572 Returns the more robust tooltip control, without returning the borking of the rest of the AddOn.

Revision: 4948 Fixes [ADV-573] that removes some code to change the tooltip dropdowns, so it can be reworked.
Revision: 4946 [ADV-572] This is the "Hirsute is a fragging moron" commit. I failed to update my copy of the svn before branching, and when I merged back it large portions of CoreMain.lua were deleted. They've been restored now, and my changes preserved. Hopefully all is now well.

The anticipated release gets put off just a tiny bit...

Folks,

Just a quick note to let you all know that the Release is up on our main site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/#release .

We will be pushing that out to both Curse and WoWInterface tomorrow, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up who wants it a bit earlier.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Re: Just a User

srayray,

Nah, no deletions, we only do that when folks are outright evil. ;-) We do ask that everyone keep things civil, no matter their comment, question, or concern, though.

After just a few years of this, we are really used to the re-posts of questions and the like - still not sure why folks do not read first, since they would save time by not having to post and wait for an answer, but that is just how it goes. We could complain at them, but that usually takes as much time as re-explaining, providing the FAQ link, or pasting in an earlier, appropriate response.

As to the rest of your comment - we do appreciate anyone who has the ability to give to the project; either of their time or other resources. Being an evil free, open source type of project, we rely upon our volunteers and our users for support, encouragement, and 'support'. No one is getting rich off of this, that is for certain; in fact, Norganna, our founder, often ends up covering expenses out of his tiny, upside-down, Australian pocketbook.

As to the release, it is coming along nicely and should be out to the third party sites, WoWInterface and Curse, later today!

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

There is no way to have one folder, since the Auctioneer Suite is just that, a combination of different AddOns. For a few years, people were clamoring for an easy way to add custom modules of their own and to only use the bits and pieces of the whole, as such, the AddOns have their own SavedVariables, which requires separate folders.

Another huge benefit is that there is not the near-continual overrun of file size that people had with the 1, 2, and 3 versions of Auctioneer, where all statistics were kept in one file.

Yes, it is sort of cumbersome, but there is an easy way to deal with it. Grab AddOn Control Panel from http://WoWAce.Com - that allows you to make profiles of AddOns, so you can quickly and easily load up one group or another depending upon what you are doing, i.e. raiding, playing the AH, questing in a group, soloing, et cetera. That helps with all AddOns, not just those contained in the Auctioneer Suite. Sort by AddOn name, Author, et cetera.

As to the second question, the SearchUI has been around for a few years and provides the fastest way to see only what you want. Use the General Searcher, enter some text, and only see the auctions, on one page, that you can then sort by time remaining, bid amount, buyout, or whatever you like. That also has some other pre-made, specialized Searchers, too. There are ones for possible resale, vendoring, disenchanting, enchant mats, glyphing, and more. Check it out!

We do not compress things into one line, especially when there are often tons of different-priced auctions up for the same item, so allowing folks to either buy or ignore them has proved what folks like the best. We do not have plans to change that any time soon.

There are also some third party Searchers that folks have made for use with Auctioneer, most are on Curse, but some may be here, too. Search for "Auc" and then look for those with hyphenated names, eg Auc-Util-<Name>.

You can make custom modules for your own use or to share, as well. See our main site FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.org/Auctioneer/...this_possible_ .

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Is it at all possible to have a single "Auctioneer" folder (or just two or three) instead of all the folders and add-ons as before? It's very frustrating to have to check/uncheck each box when you want to toggle the add-on.

Also, one thing I have started to love about Auctionator is the way that you can search auctions and it shows them compressed into a single line for each item, with the lowest price shown for that type of item. It's much cleaner than having 20 separate listings for the same named item. Has this ever been a feature of Auctioneer? It would be fantastic.

Thanks for the great work!

Re: Update

Jadestorm,

As noted below:

"
Regardless, yes, we are in the final stages of preparing the Release. For the time being the beta/Preview has nearly all of the subAddOns functional, save for Glypher and EnchantrixBarker. That is available from our main site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/#preview ; be sure to read and follow http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing when updating, since there are some old files that need to be removed, beforehand."

Actually, everything should now be functional- so, we hope to have the release posted at our site, here, and at Curse, soon.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

Re: Cataclysm Update???

Aessedai,

You must not use all too many AddOns, then.

Re: wondering if there was any way to not have the auctions scrunched together

lumc919,

There is, but you will lose some functionality. Just click "Configure" at the top of the "Browse" frame and unselect the option to use the CompactUI.

Perpescshun,

We appreciate the kind words. It is always nice to hear from the folks who obtain some use from our offerings, even the wh**es! (Especially?) =)

There are some great things on the way in the next release, such as speedier scanning, speedier posting, an addition to Appraiser that makes it easier to tell which items are set to Batch Post, a new profit column for BeanCounter devotes, and much more.

Actually, the Beta/Preview is up on our main site... If anyone would like to give it a try, it should not cause any major issues and will allow some insight into the tasty things to come. There is a remote chance of trouble, so those faint of heart should just wait for the release. If you are not afraid, and are ready to walk the new frontier, head over to http://AuctioneerAddOn.Com/dl/#preview and be sure to read and follow http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing to minimize the risk of installation trouble.

Should there be errors/issues, kindly post them on our main message board at http://Forums.Norganna.Org and be certain to include the fact that you are using the 5.9 Beta/Preview in the thread.

You will need an account to post, but that takes all of ten seconds to create; simply click the link in the upper right to log in and then select the option to create an account. As always, we do not use any information obtained for any nefarious purposes!

There will be a condensed and full set of release notes, when the release is ready, so be sure to keep a look out over the next couple weeks.

Happy Sales,

Nikk

I have been using this addon for a while now, and it has saved me so much time on the auction house to where I can post items up more quickly than having to go over and manually check current prices. All I really have to do is drag the item up to the panel and click refresh and it displays current prices, has a beancounter. Overall a great addon and I would recommend to any auction house whore.

Awesome mod, cant wait to see whats it store for the future with it.
