To receive updates via PM or email when updated, mark as a "Favorite" in the box to the right.

The Auctioneer Suite provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease.

From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.

As you will soon discover, it is much more than a simple "Auctioning AddOn", the Auctioneer Suite also shows in-depth information for all game items, such as those used in quests or recipes, enchanting, milling, prospecting and more.

Numerous other AddOns will also use the Auctioneer statistics you gather via scanning. This is especially true for many of the popular crafting AddOns, such as Little Sparky's Workshop.

Looking for Lightweight and Fast?

Try the "Auctioneer" download from our primary site, rather than the "Auctioneer Suite" we upload to Curse and WoWInterface. All of our downloads are accessible from our primary site at http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl . This version offers a small footprint, with only the basic "Post" frame and tooltip information to assist in your purchasing decisions.

When updating this time:

Be sure to remove all old files- follow the instructions at http://wiki.norganna.org/Installing .

Please, do not post errors here; instead, kindly visit http://forums.norganna.org/ , our Support Forum, and be sure to search before posting- many questions and errors reported are duplicates.

For the fastest service, various questions are addressed in the Auctioneer FAQ, http://wiki.norganna.orgAuctioneer/FAQ . We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most common issues have been addressed.

Questions, comments, concerns, alphas/betas (when available), bug reports, the occasional bit of praise?

Basic Auctioneer Suite Details

The Auctioneer Suite contains Auctioneer, all of its modules, BeanCounter, Enchantrix and Enchantrix Barker, and Informant to help provide a comprehensive view of item data, whether at the Auction House or out questing. Some highlights are:

Appraiser

An intuitive auction posting frame.
  • Remembers your preferences for bid/buyout prices, stack sizes, and number of listings to post per item.
  • Allows queuing of auctions, so you can instruct it to list hundreds of auctions and alt-tab while it does so for you
  • Allows you to specify the value price of your choice and remembers your selection
  • Displays competing listings, the age of the data, and allows you to sort these listings and refresh them easily.
  • Provides a scrollable list of all auctionable items in your bags; allowing you to quickly post all of your goods.
  • Provides a "Match Competition" setting which will automatically undercut your competition when posting auctions, within your parameters
  • Provides the ability to change to a "Simple" view; a bit like the Auctioneer Classic posting interface.
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking and dragging to the column width of your choice.
  • Allows you to post multiple auctions with the single click of the Batch Post button.
    • Alt+Left-Click == Refresh Pricing of all Batch Postable Items.
    • Shift+Left-Click==Trial Posting, prints the pricing to your chat window, but does not post any items, allowing you to verify settings.
    • Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left-Click==Post all items that have the "Allow Batch Posting" checkbox selected (located at the top of the item information pane).
CompactUI

An alternative to the standard auction browsing interface.
  • Displays more auctions per page
  • Displays more data per auction
  • Allows you to change column width by Right-Clicking in the column heading and dragging left or right to resize the column to your liking
  • Provides a percentage comparison with the Market Value Statistic of your choice
  • Allows auctions to be color coded by price level
  • Allows multiple sorting options not available on the standard interface
Statistic Modules

There are a variety of fully customizable statistic modules included with Auctioneer that can provide a variety of pricing information- all based upon your needs.
  • "Market Price" - a custom designed formula that merges the various statistics into a usable price. This is the default setting and is highly recommended.
  • Auc-Stat-Histogram - Returns Median and IQR values, based upon a Histogram of pricing data. Essentially, a median value, based upon all prices ever seen; no data is ever discarded.
  • Auc-Stat-iLevel - Statistics modules that groups all items of same rarity, type, and iLevel together (e.g. all green weapons of iLevel 180). Useful for pricing random "of the ..." items.
  • Auc-Stat-Purchased - Statistics module that tries to infer purchase prices based on items disappearing before they could have expired. (Requires more frequent scanning of the AH)
  • Auc-Stat-Sales Uses data from BeanCounter to display historical statistics on actual purchase and sale prices. Note that this statistic is installed along with BeanCounter, and cannot be installed separately.
  • Auc-Stat-Simple - Statistics module that performs simple averaging of data, converted daily to exponential moving averages of the orders 3, 7 and 14.
  • Auc-Stat-StdDev - Statistics module that keeps the last 100 price points for an item and performs a standard deviation on the data list to exclude outliers from the sample space and provide a normalized mean.
  • Auc-Stat-WOWEcon - Statistics module that uses the WOWEcon AddOn's data (if separately installed) to provide the price to other Auctioneer modules.
  • Any other stat module that you or others wish to create can be easily added to auctioneer functionality!
SearchUI

An Auctioneer Utility that prompts you when it sees auctions that fit your criteria for buying and, or, bidding.
  • Uses Searchers that you can customize for various desired deals such as:
    • Resale - Prompts you for deals based on discount from the market value, AH fee, and expected relistings
    • Disenchant - Prompts you for deals based on disenchanting armor and weapons
    • Prospecting - Prompts you for jewelcrafting deals from prospecting ores
    • Vendor - Prompts you for auctions listed below vendor sell price
  • The "RealTimeSearch" will continually reload the first and last page of the AH, within reason, as per your configuration, to find the newest bargains and auctions that are just about to come to an end. Both great times to find some amazing deals.
  • Piggybacks on your AH scans if allowed to do so
BeanCounter

An associated AddOn that tracks your bid, postings, and mail to help you determine your overall and item-specific profitability.
  • Creates journal entries when you bid, buy, post, or retrieve AH mail.
  • Provides a searchable interface that can display all activity or only certain items
  • Allows you to change column width by Left-Click and dragging the column to the size of your liking
Enchantrix

Enchantrix displays values for disenchanting, milling, and prospecting; plus suggested values for selling enchants. Enchantrix can also automate disenchanting, milling and prospecting. Some baseline pricing is built in, but Enchantrix also uses values from Auctioneer to provide up-to-date prices for your server/faction. Enchantrix also includes controls to let you customize the pricing by enchant material (fixed prices and weighting).

Informant

Informant displays additional information about items in their tooltips: buy price; sell price; item level; what quests, classes or professions use the item; the value of the item produced by a recipe; etc. Informant can also tell you what vendors sell a given item.

What can Auctioneer do to help me?

Once a user moves to the Auction House (AH) and beyond just buying and selling from/to vendors, the whole game changes. No longer is the user dealing with the static prices of the vendor to support their character's income. We are now dealing with the fluid and hectic nature of a dog-eat-dog market economy.
In such an economy, which is in a constant state of flux, it can be difficult to select the correct pricing points for your item at the AH. Sometimes, the prices and value of your items can be wildly different compared to the vendor price due to many factors, the value of items that can be made from your item, the use of a particular item in a quest, the suitability of a particular weapon or armor to specific classes, and the disenchantability of an item to enchanters.
Primarily, the driving factor of the price fluctuations, as in the real world is supply versus demand. When supply is high, but demand is low, competition drives the prices down, and conversely then supply is low, but demand is high, the market is driven into a sellers market.
The Auctioneer Suite can help you alleviate this lack of market knowledge over time by watching the market evolve.
When you go to the Auction House (AH) for the first time after installing Auctioneer, you will see a row of 3 buttons along the top of the main "Browse" frame, click the "play" button to begin your first scan of the entire AH. Auctioneer will begin recording statistics for every item it finds, including the bid, buyout, and more.
Once the market analysis has completed, you will notice additional information about the items in the tooltips when you mouse over them.

What happens when you go to sell items via the Auction House?

If Auctioneer has enough data, when you try to put an auction up for sale, it will attempt to provide you with intelligent pricing points based upon the market data it has accumulated through scanning.
When you select an item in the full or simple "Appraiser" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum price, a buyout price and display relevant data about it's decision making process in the right, receipt window, including how it has arrived at its prices.
When you place an item in the SimpleAuction, "Post" frame, Auctioneer will suggest a minimum bid, a buyout price, and display relevant data, including the deposit and more.

What are the available pricing models, or statistics, again?

There are numerous pricing models from which to choose, they are discussed in the FAQ, located at http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Auctioneer/FAQ.

Conclusion

We hope this helps people to understand the Auctioneer Suite a bit better.

Greetings Ahren,

All versions of Auctioneer function perfectly well on the Mac, as well as Windows and the various emulators running over *ux.

In general, recommend that you download directly from the main site, http://AuctioneerAddOn.Com/dl/ , then select "Auctioneer Advanced Suite" or if you want both versions, select the "Full Suite".
**Note, if you do not want both versions, ensure you delete the folders pertaining to the unwanted or unused version.

The full installation instructions, accessed via http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing, list the files to remove if you are upgrading- obviously, if you have never installed Auctioneer previously, then there will be no Auctioneer files that need to be removed. =)
  • Exit the World of Warcraft game completely.
  • Simply download the current version to your desktop.
  • Uncompress/Unzip the file-
    • The "Full Suite" contains sixteen (16) folders that you will then place in the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns folder.
    • The "Auctioneer Advanced Suite", when unzipped, will contain fifteen (15) folders that you will then place in the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns folder.
    • After moving the folders, start World of Warcraft as usual and then visit the main Addon manager, accessed via a button in the lower left of the Character Selection screen.
      • Ensure that all of the Auctioneer-related items have a gold checkmark in the checkbox.
        • Use the list from the installation instructions in order to discern which AddOns pertain to Auctioneer.
      • Ensure that the "Load Out of date Addons" checkbox has a checkmark.
**If you do not see any Auctioneer-related items in the AddOn Manager, then some error occurred along the way- simply go back to the beginning of the full installation instructions and start again. All of the compressed files have been verified on numerous systems and environments, so there is no other issue possible. By repeating the steps, in full, you ensure that the download is not corrupted, et cetera.

Please be sure to visit the main site and review the message boards and the wiki for tons of valuable information- http://WWW.AuctioneerAddOn.Com/.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

is there anyway to get the auctioneer's appraiser prices listing embedded into the tooltip, because atm they are put into their own tooltip which is overlapping the regular tooltip and making both VERY hard to read

Luciant,

With Advanced, all of the various "extras" have not been added, hence the alpha/Preview status. Our volunteer developers tend to work on issues which our end users display an interest. To register your interest, visit our "trouble ticket system", http://Jira.Norganna.Org , quickly create a user ID, and vote for the ticket requesting that the ability to embed data within the original tooltip be returned. http://jira.norganna.org/browse/ADV-87

By the way, the tooltips really should not overlap- what tooltip addon are you using to cause such behavior?

Thank you,

Nikk

As for the pause, that is due to all of the modules needed to display the Auctioneer Advanced-enhanced Auction House window for your use. The pause only occurs once per session upon your first AH use- Auctioneer Classic actually added the delay to the game start up by default, so that is most likely why you would not have noticed it there. Not to mention that, with Classic, you need to manually move all of the items into Appraiser, and with Auctioneer Advanced, that is all done for you.[/b]
heh, thats why I use Advanced... that Appraiser is the shiznitz. What you now call "Classic", was only useful to me for the Informant... at least thats all I really used it for back when you guys first developed Auctioneer. Other modules of Advanced are useful I suppose, but I haven't explored those yet.

So the sound issue has existed for a while? I honestly did not notice it until I installed this Advanced Update, and I assumed it was due to the fact that it automatically opens my bags. Inventory addons like Onebag, etc. do not blast sound, so I assumed it was a bug of Auctioneer. The pause I'd noticed, but not the sound. Maybe I'm just getting old. Between the noise and the pause, I thought maybe my UI was just short of crashing, but all the loading and stuff makes sense.

Thanks for the response!

Luciant,

Yes, TipTac is unfortunately one of the few that tend to cause issues. There is an interplay between the two addons that causes the behavior, but neither causes issues when used alone.

Feel free to put in a request for the Tiptac author to visit us sometime in our IRC channel, via the top bar of AuctioneerAddOn.Com. As long as someone is around, we will be happy to work with them to sort out what we can, both, do to "fix" the issue.

Happy Auctioneering,

Nikk

Gaenjin,

The difference between a bag mod and Appraiser is the actual movement of the items- the bag mods simply "muck" with the display of your bags while Appraiser actually moves your items into the AH.

The sound became more noticeable with the addition of the Auction Magic plug-in, because of how it procures the posting fee information when you visit the AH, but has been around for a while now.

Keep an eye out- we have the noise, and do not really like it, ourselves.

Ha, believe me, some of us feel the old issue too. =)

With the latest patch it would appear that Auctioneer has been broken somehow, the appraiser doesn't work, it shows '?' for all items and will not allow them to be selected or sold, so atm it's back to selling by hand

I got this when 'mouse-over'ing an item in my bag

Hi there Kardinalsin,

The main thing to recall is that Auctioneer Advanced works from the per each price, not the per stack price when you are entering the pricing information or approving what is suggested.

The stack price will be shown in the far right window, should you want to see that.

For instance, if you enter 10s as the buyout price, Auctioneer Advanced will take that and multiply that 10s by whatever stack size you select and then automatically post your items for the correct price, no matter what stack size you pick. This is different than Auctioneer Classic, which used to make you enter the stack price, which you had to manually figure for each different stack size.

So, again with our 10s buyout price, if you are posting stacks of 20, then Auctioneer Advanced will post that for you as 2g. If you then decide to post stacks of 5 to help folks fill out their own stacks, say for the turn-ins, then Auctioneer Advanced will price those at 50s- without any extra input from you. In a nutshell, once the price history data has been established via scanning, the old way required you to set the stack size and the amount, the new way, only the stack size.

Hope this clears things up,

Nikk

Whemette,

The error you list has been reported and the fix should be in the next release of Auctioneer.

As for the question marks and such- Blizzard apparently introduced a memory leak or some other relatively major issue along with the patch and that is causing outrageous lag, as far as a mod that is trying to load every auctionable item into the AH at once is concerned, any way.

Once Blizzard is on top of the issue and the downloads of the new patch subside, then we can see if any of that is related to Auctioneer. Note that on 3 different servers Auctioneer Advanced was working just fine- even after the patch. As the day went on, and more folks came on, then some issues began to crop up, such as all of the players being stuck in BGs and not being allowed to leave, AH issues, et cetera.

In a nutshell, try again in a day or two- we will keep our ears and eyes open as to any possible changes we will have to make, too.

Thank you,

Nikk

With the latest patch it would appear that Auctioneer has been broken somehow, the appraiser doesn't work, it shows '?' for all items and will not allow them to be selected or sold, so atm it's back to selling by hand

I got this when 'mouse-over'ing an item in my bag

Re: Can not switch to other language?

Mantis3d,

Unfortunately the localized version of Auctioneer Advanced, half of the Full Release, is not available as of yet.

Auctioneer Advanced is still in gamma status, early beta, if you will, so it changes often. Auctioneer Advanced is very stable and should not have any large bugs outstanding- its just that the feature set is still being added to and tuned.

AuctioneerClassic is fully localized for use in every localized version of WoW, though, and we look forward to being able to include our non-English speaking fans as soon as possible.

If you download the "Full Release" from here at WoWInterface, simply disable the Auc-Advanced Addon via the main Addon manager, accessed via the Addons button in the lower left of the Character Selection Screen.

Stay tuned for a localized-compatible version as soon as we are able to do so,

Nikk

I get that.

But can you make a localization file with only english? So that we can help you to translate and add other language to it.

Re: Re: Re: Can not switch to other language?

Mantis3D,

Once the content has been confirmed, we will be using our localizer site, http://localizer.norganna.org/index.php .

Will post a message when we are ready to begin localizing Auctioneer Advanced.

Appreciate the enthusiasm,

Nikk
