Btex version 2.9.3
***********************************

What is it? :
-------------
Btex (for 'Bottom TEXture') is a very lightweight addon for World Of Warcraft providing Background texture at the bottom of the screen.
It contains a package of pre-made skins, a simple menu for settings skins, texture height,width,transparency,colors, positions, viewport,etc ..

What can it do? :
-----------------
- Put a texture of your choice on the bottom of the screen via menu options (use /bx menu or /btex menu),
- Set height/width/transparency/position/colors/layer of your texture,
- Use any other TGA/BLP texture file or any other 'pack' of skin,
- Display a grid to setup your interface correctly,
- Modify the 3D rendering area with viewport function,
- Work in any resolution,
- Low memory usage & standalone addon (no libs or dependency are needed).

Ready to use skins :
--------------------
The following skins are packaged and are ready to use via the option menu:
- Dark Shadow serie, Simple Black, Fade Black, Red Fury, Warcraft Classic, Ice Dragon, Ice Dragon remake (credits to Xaphiroth), Ice Dragon remake with pet bar(credits to

Xaphiroth), Wall, White Dragon.

FAQ :
-----
How do I run menu config ? type "/bx Menu" or "/Btex menu" in the chat windows.
Why the download is so big ? it's because it contain many images.
How do i load custom skins? Copy TGA or BLP files to /interface/btex/skins/ directory, and use the "custom texture" options on the top dropdown menu. Write name file without

the end "-1.tga". Exemple: for 'blabla' skin, you have 4 tga named blabla-1.tga, blabla-2.tga. Write 'blabla' in the custom name.
Do the skin support transparency ? yes. Via images files and via WOW API.
Can i use BLP file? Yes. use custom load skin, and do like with any other tga file.
Is there any PSD template i can use to make my own skin ? :Sure, just go to : http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11906-BtexPSDforskinmaking.html I recommand using The

GIMP or if you have money Photoshop CS4.
BUT, remember to share !
How can i share my artwork ? : create an account on wowinterface then upload it here as a plugin : http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7906-BTex.html#optional

So an update on those skins. I never was able to get them to save with proper transparency, and gave up after hours of frustration. I guess I'm just not meant to make them.

Hi,

Btex dont remove action bar on bottom screen, you have to use a separate addon like domino or batender. just look for an action bar addon.

have fun !

Amazing Artwork Serthida..
Everything looks fine as far as you creating and editing them.. scroll down in the forums and read my step by step process if it helps.

Make sure you have each bar correctly sized.. 1024 x 256 or (2048 x 512 for larger scale such as my bars). Use the Crop image each section either 256 x 256 or 512 x 512 (pending on overall image size).

goto channels. click on the alpha selection.

Marque or highlight section you want to be viewed and paint it white.
Save that cropped image in the correct number sequence.

rinse and repeat working from Left to Right in the correct cropped sizes.

Hopefully this is helpful and good luck.

Alright, file is uploaded -

Master psd of all Horde and Alliance skins:
http://www.mediafire.com/?gy0ylknunof

Master psd of all of my Totem Raven skins:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ydmt2jfomzm

Since patch is out and there's nothing else to do, I'd love to get these packaged and uploaded properly!

I followed Bornabe's tutorial on preserving transparency with a .tga file, but I don't know what's going on, I can't get it to stay transparent on the save. I have an alpha channel with the proper areas masked off, and transparency on the original image, am saving at 32 bit (no compression), and have checked and double checked to see if all of the settings are correct!

If I make a .psd file of my skins, is there anyone else willing to slice them up and save them properly? I'm at my wit's end with this.

ETA: been at it for 2 more hours and there's got to be something I'm missing. At least I'm done making 12 skins though...well, they need to be sliced and saved properly. Anyone?

Here's one of the 12 (Thunder Bluff):

TEX_CHOICE = "GMetalBronze";
TexturePreview();

from here do i change the custom texture line in sequence and so forth?

I gotta feeling its gonna be a long nite doing this LOL...

Again TY Tiggy for the help.. Cant wait to see what ya might do with the skin I posted.
well, you can add more texture instead of replacing like this (change the bold with you number, like 15, 16, etc and so on.. (juste copy and paste at the end after block item 14
--menu item14
info.text = "Demonic"; <== here the name of the new texture
info.value = 14;
info.func = function() BtexDropDownMenuItem_OnClick() end;
info.owner = BtexDropDownMenu;
info.checked = nil;
info.icon = nil;
UIDropDownMenu_AddButton(info, level);

and then here :
elseif (this.value == 14) then
TEX_CHOICE = "FileNameHERE"
TexturePreview();

i can do this for you if want, just let me know

If any of you that might have suggestions or want to continue this one and post. I am releasing the image so that you are more then welcome to do with it what you will to make it really great.

Tiggy question.. Is there a way that I can add any of these custom skins, including my own to the default list of skins in the addon?
Sure, but you have to edit lua code. Here is the howto :
1/ Open Btex.lua with notepad (or notepad++)
2/ Search for the line "info.text = "Dark Shadow 1";" and modify it with the name of your skin like this for exemple : info.text = "My Skin yeahhhhh";
/3 Search for the line "TEX_CHOICE = "DS1";" and modify it with the file name of your skin without "-1" like in custom loadinf skin. for exemple TEX_CHOICE = "MySkinFileName";
4/ save file
/5 run wow and your done

thx for your skin ! great work !!!
