LegoBlock
Version: r144
by: JoshBorke [More]
LegoBlock lets you create a small block to display information in it like time, performance, haste or anything you can think of! Blocks can be snapped together in any position or order you can do simple things like snap them together into a long line to be positioned at the top of your UI, or you can snap them together in an "L" position and so on.

Theres two methods of snapping blocks together, one is simply to drag it to another block and it'll snap to the closet block for example if you drag block "A" to the bottom of block "B" it'll snap to the bottom, if you snap it to the left side of "B" it'll snap to that side and so on. If you have muultiple blocks and you need to specifically choose which one to snap to then drag block "A" into block "B" and you can choose which side to snap to without it trying to snap to anything else.

Blocks that are snapped togther become a group, if you have A, B and C you can drag any of those 3 and they'll all move together when you want to unsnap a block from a group hold down CTRL and drag it out.

LegoBlock is meant to display information, not as a methods of launching or viewing configuration.

Getting started- need help...

I loaded this mod and was unable to see any options or any items to be displayed. I installed the OptionHouse mod in case that was what was missing but OptionHouse didn't find this mod.

How does one display items and configure them?

Thanks for the help - sorry if this is obvious but I couldnt figure it out.

This doesn't do anything by itself, it's just a simple framework/library to make it easier to create these information blocks

--edit
check out the API page for the API
look at TimeBlock or PerfBlock or HasteBlock for examples of mods that use LegoBlock

*edit*

Found how to move, now I need to find out how to add a "lock" button..

Also, is there a way to make the table show 2 columns instead of just 1?
Or a way to build 2 blocks from one Lua/config that lock side by side without making another addon folder?

sure can, just call LegoBlock:New() again and you'll get a second lego block, you can have as many as you want. There's a Lego Addon on the LegoBlock SVN that lets you create as many blocks as you want for testing.

Thanks, I'll have to jack around with it.

I'm far from a coder, especially with LUA.

But I have managed to hack apart PerfBlock and make it work with movement (just not locking) and got it to list out the different spell functions I'm wanting.

However, I think that addon is using an older version of LB and I have yet to figure out any of the others (time, spell, haste, etc) to get them to do what I'm wanting to do.

Oh wells, learning curves
