//Installation:

1. Backup your Fonts, WTF, and Interface folders. Delete the originals.

2. Copy contents of Hal_v8.3.0 into your WoW directory.

3. Rename YOURACCOUNTNAME, YourServerName, and YourCharacterName to the appropriate names.

4. Make additional copies of YourCharacterName for every character you want to use the UI for.

5. Re-install any additional mods from your backup Interface folder.

6. Log in, check your enabled mods list, enter game, fix any layout problems.


//8.3.0 FAQS:

Q: My mods aren't appearing in the correct position and/or don't look right!
A: Some mods do not load the Default profile by default (go figure), but rather one named after your character/server. Open up the mod's config menu and double check that the Default profile is loaded; this will cure 90% of the problems people are having. Here are a few I've had people ask about:

/sldt SLDataText (Clock/Ping/Etc)
/bf ButtonFacade (button textures)
/bt4 Bartender4 (action bars)
/quartz (casting bars)

If loading the Default profile doesn't remedy the problem, make sure that you followed the installation instructions. Some success has been had by repeating the deletion of old Interface/WTF folders and reinstalling.


//Notes:

1.)

Some configuration WILL be necessary. I have no way of ensuring everything
will look precisely as it does in the screenshots. If something isn't showing
up in the right place, or random mods are enabled that shouldn't be (i.e. Pitbull modules), please try to figure it out on your own before posting your question. I'm super busy these days with my RL design job and am very bad about answering questions promptly.

Also: A big thank you to everyone who has answered questions during my often lengthy absences!


2.)

Now that WinAceUpdater is defunct, I use the Curse Client to update mods. Downloading external libs is no longer automated, so I've gone back to using embedded ones in 8.3.0. Most of you couldn't care less about this!


3.)

Backups of border textures are included inside of relevant mods' folders.
-Updating typically overwrites my modified files, so use the backups to restore things as necessary.
-i.e. Inside of Pitbull_Aura you will see "_border (Hal's Backup).tga"
-Gotwood also has a backup texture.

Mmm yes guys for someone saying Questhelper isnt working, could you please define problem more?

One thing I have witnessed using it, is if you don't setup Addon Performance to 100% it will not show anything on your map (To do it Open up your map - Right click Questhelper button - Performance - 100%)

Hello there! Thank you first of all for such a clean and nice UI,which bring some fresh air (and fresh textures) to WOW.

I got some question as I've just started setting it up.

1. As a DK seems like my runes are still under standard Blizz frame or gone at all, as I understand Pitbull still hasnt got it worked out. So should I use something like Magic Runes and just forget about it?

2. Chat frames - there are 3 total chat frames, which as I could see in UI's pictures should go as follow - combat log window to the right - general chat to the left. Now the question is - There is an additional third window for Guild chatting where to put that? Should I combine General and Guild? Should I switch between them? Unfortunately I couldn't figure it out of screenshots, as there none showing guild talk

3. As I understand most of guys doesnt use Autobar? Why is that? Isnt it better to let it sum up your items? Or do you prefer just placing it on screen?

4. SLDatatext which is saw for the first time and found it to be a great idea, doesnt seem to support Russian locale (which Im playing) still is it working for EN locale? Or is it just broken atm (I've seen someone posted it). Still I would like to make it work in Russian (somehow maybe help with Localization )

5. I cant seem to find Backup textures in GotWood (also I previously was using ShockAndAwe and as far as I remember it also shows CD of totems, so why both?) Do they exist? Where to find them once I update it using WoWMatrix?

That's a whole bunch of question, so thank you anyone for posting your answers (not only Halc which is busy as I understand)!!!

Hello again! I know you're not the author of any mods, however have you noticed any problems with got wood (totem timer)?

I got an error popping up when i drop searing totem and also if there is another shaman in the party he overrides my totems with the display in middle. If I drop windfury totem it pops up, but if the other shaman drop wrath of air he overides the timer and the icon making it a bit tricky. I should probably post it somewhere else, but I'm thinking of geting an updated totem timer if its possible.

1024x1280 not working

Thanks for the UI, wondering if you could make a 1024x1280 version of this...the one by Plaxo doesn't work.

SL data problems

i cant see my friends list or my guild list while using SL data, but I don't know why, everything else works....any ideas?

So i started a warrior alt, and I have a problem, It shows my stance bar under my player frame bar. Problem is, its an additional stance bar, its not the bar4 stance bar. any idea to get rid of it?

hi,

thx 4 your ui it is fantastic.

but i got a problem with the ingame tooltip.

if i click on an itemlink in the chat an then on the "x" to close this one i got an error in interface\framexml\gametooltip.lua on 154:attempt to index local'self' (a nil value)

what addons makes the style 4 the tooltip and does anybody else have the problem?

Pitbull doesn't seem to have any neat rune integration yet; I'd recommend using SimpleRune.

It was ItemRack, which wasn't working for me when I updated the UI (hence why it was excluded). It'll be back in the next release.

He added a custom bar for the trinkets. A really great trinket mod that is easy to use is TrinketMenu. You can get it HERE. Enjoy!
