Butsu  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.1.1
by: haste [More]
Butsu is a small replacement for the default loot frame. It supports showing more than four items, and has a slick look.

You can move the frame by holding down <Alt> and clicking on the title.

Note: Unstable versions located at: here.
Changes from 2.1.0
- Bump TOC version to 5.0.4.
- Update to work correctly on 5.0.4.

Changes from 2.0.2
- Bump TOC version to 4.3.
- Display the quest bang for items that start a new quest.
- Color the background and text yellow for quest items.

Changes from 2.0.1
- Improved the UI to look slightly less bad on 4.2.
- Bumped TOC version to 4.2.
- Don't attempt to display slot information before the server has finished sending us all the information.
- Prevent the frame from having excessive width.

Changes from 2.0
- Master loot drop-down now appears at the correct position.

Changes from 1.10
- Empty frames are no collapsed.
- Some minor options added for font size and frame scale.
- License changed to MIIT (was NewBSD, so pretty much no difference except wording).
- Frame position will no longer reset if you log in with the add-on disabled.

Changes from 1.9
- Master loot works yet again.

Changes from 1.8
- Fix CursorUpdate errors.

Changes from 1.7
- Master loot should work properly again.

Changes from 1.6
- Now works with WoTLK.

Changes from 1.5
- Fixed a typo which possibly prevented master looting from working.

Changes from 1.4
- Snap to mouse updated to work in 2.4
- TOC bumped to 2.4.

Changes from 1.3
- <Esc> now has the same behavior as the default loot frame. This fixes the issue with containers acting oddly.

Changes from 1.2
- Changed frame strata to HIGH and enabled toplevel. Should prevent it from hiding behind every other frame.

Changes from 1.1
- Fixed display of empty corpses.

Changes from 1.0
- Fixed the snap to mouse code. It will no longer float far above the mouse.
- Item name now inherits the GameFontWhite instead of using STANDARD_TEXT_FONT locked to 10 in size.
- Moved locales into loot.lua.

I know this may be the wrong place to ask, but here I go: how do I run the latest SVN version of Maneki? Maneki_Shade says "Protip: /run LoadAddOnManeki_Shade -- for now.". What do I type? If I paste that, Bugsack starts to crap.

/run LoadAddOn"Maneki_Shade"

That commit message is the result of me attempting to do something using while sitting on a Windows machine.

Also, it's LoD because Maneki itself hasn't really been tested in any real environment , so it might just ignore rolls.

You should send me a PM/mail/contact me on IRC the next time however.

Fane - I'll post it later today. (update: posted now)
oChat - Possibly never. There are already tons of small chat-mods out there. (the same goes for oMinimap).
But you MUST bring oChat somewhere it's not on your gCode anymore or here. Are you only wanting linux users to have some of your addons? /cry

There is a git port for windows (other than cygwin, take a look at the git site). You can however directly download any add-on from git, unlike with the SVN.

http://ixo.no/git/ → AddOn -> → Commit (left side) → Download (center): AddOnName-master.zip/tar.gz. You can also download certain revision by going to Log and click on the commit you want.

If you have git installed you can just do:
git clone git://haste.ixo.no/Butsu.git

The clone URL is located at the bottom left when you go to an AddOn on the list. Doing a clone on git is slightly different from doing a checkout on SVN, on git it fetches the whole history of the add-on (every commit done to it). This sounds like a lot, but oUF (which has a history going back to 2006) is only 260K uncompressed.

Using git is regardless easier for any user than the SVN, which required you to have the client installed.

Thank you for explaining this fully, I was confused when I saw a ton of penguins everywhere. I'm no moron, but I don't run linux cause I'm just a gamer and don't really need linux for just games etc. Also, it's more hassle for me to try and get everything I love on windows, to work on linux, be that games, video editing software, small apps etc. Umbutu looked promising but even that misses a few things I take for granted on windows. The day will come though that I will switch, prolly when i break down and actually learn a programming language.

Again, thank you for explaining, i was getting manic since you took a few addons off your gcode so some, like oChat, where no where to be found. I was scared.

Not sure if you're ok with posting here. But, haste, for some obscure reason, on 2.4 I can not get Butsu to snap to my cursor. Default blizz loot frame works, Bustu works fine on new characters, but not on existing. It doesn't move, almost as if the Cursor thing isn't enabled in the options. While it is enabled of course. I've tried re-downing Butsu in case I changed something, I deleted the SV's. But on old chars, no open-on-cursor, on new chars (created post 2.4) it works. Any ideas?

Sorry for the wait. The position issue should be fixed with the latest version however.

I'm unable to re-create it, so there isn't much I can do to help you.

What does the following give you as a output?
Code:
/run local a = GetCVar"lootUnderMouse" ChatFrame1:AddMessage(a.." - "..type(a))

I've never had issues with master loot + Butsu until tonight, when right-clicking did not bring up the master loot menu. It just did nothing. I had to disable Butsu and reload the UI in order to hand out loot. Later, when I logged onto another character, I got the following error upon login:

Code:
[2008/05/12 03:01:21-495-x5]: Butsu-1.5\loot.lua:288: attempt to call global 'IDropDownMenu_Refresh' (a nil value)
Butsu-1.5\loot.lua:292: in function <Interface\AddOns\Butsu\loot.lua:291>
I redownloaded and checked against what I had to make sure I was using the latest version, and I was indeed running 1.5. I am not running any other addons which deal with the loot window. The only other addon I run that's related to loot at all is Tekkub's teksLoot. US English client.

I fixed that error at least, and that hopefully solves everything.
