Fane is a small add-on to make the chat tabs look slightly more appealing. The tabs will always be shown on ChatFrame1 (that's the one where you can have more than one tab).

There are zero configurations for this add-on.

Changes from 1.5
- The tabs will no longer fade, while the combat log quick button list still will.
- Separate chat frames now have their tabs handled correctly.

Changes from 1.4
- Make a global local. (If you fetched 1.4, then you really shouldn't bother fetching this one as well).

Changes from 1.3
- Updated to work on 3.3.5.

Changes from 1.2
- Should no longer error when trying to close chat frames.

Changes from 1.1
- Updated to work on 3.0.

Changes from 1.0
- Set TOC version to 2.4.

I love the idea, but is there a way to keep the tabs hidden unless you mouseover them?

I was looking at this myself yesterday in my own efforts to update Fane and ncChat. ChatFrame1TabLeft/Right/Middle, ChatFrame1TabSelectedLeft/Right/Middle, and ChatFrame1TabHighlightLeft/Right/Middle are the new tab frame regions (though it's important to note that all frames have tabs now, i.e. ChatFrame2TabLeft and so on). Hiding all of these will get rid of tab texturing, anyway.

And trust haste to come up with a new version that is tons better than anything I could write. <3 You rock, sir!

1.4 should work fine with 3.3.5. The PTR seems to have been taken offline for this patch round, so I ended up investing in a US account. This also means that I've only done some minor testing as I have other mods needing 3.3.5 love and the fact that I only have a level 1 char on some random server .

I did take some quick solutions in making Fane work on 3.3.5 as well. It currently won't prevent the text from fading with the chat frames. Let me know if I should override this behavior.

I just wanna say thank you for putting forth so much effort and for taking the time out of your day to fix this for the community. I have been following your posts, anxiously awaiting an update. Fane is a great little addon that many of us love and enjoy. Again, thank you for all of your hard work!

Just FYI: A solution for the crashes has been found, but it requires me to backport some drivers from the newer Linux kernel to the older, which might prove time taking. Odds are that I can publish a 3.3.5 version tonight.

I'm not at home for at least 6 more hours tho', but most US people should be starting their day then anyway :P.

Was hoping someone had a list of the new regions for the chat tabs on the WoW forums. Basically thats the only thing thats broken. The Chattabs don't have a highlight texture anymore instead it looks to be entirely new frame, as well as there is some new Handlers that need to be hooked.

Been trying to figure it out, without luck. Thankfully though I was able to tweak oChat to make it work the way it did before.

So, 3.3.5 apparently isn't being rolled out this week, and the PTR still crashes under Linux.

I'll see if I can work around the PTR crashes tomorrow. =/

I haven't been able to do any PTR testing this round, as the client has been crashing on login due to the Battle.net changes. The patch will be rolled out in Europe today however. Which means I'll be able to do something in about 12 hours.
