Status Window 2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2..2.0
by: Satrina [More]

Well, it's that time
I haven't actually played WoW in over a year at this point, except for some time put in for Cataclysm since it launched. I had figured that Cataclysm would rekindle the fire, but it just has not. I am done with MMO games.

As I noted on the SBF page, given the other demands on my time these days, and without actually playing the game, it's really hard to justify allocating time to maintaining addons.

What's to become of StatusWindow? I release it to the public domain. It's not the simplest code in the world, and I would honestly rewrite it from scratch if I still played. That said, if you want to take it and run with it, fill your boots

Version 2.2.0
- You should not get errors opening the backpack anymore
- Some small tweaks and additions (alpha for backdrops and borders works correctly now!)

Kinda off topic but just wanted to add that this looks really nice when using skinner too... didn't realize it would skin and look so nice since I didn't see a module written for it.

News: I've separated out the config frame into its own addon. Regression testing, etc. and I'll put it up as beta 9. Having the options as a separate addon reduces the memory footprint by about 100k so far, leaving SW2 itself resident at about 190k (for me, will vary by the number of modules you have active)

Tenson: I've never looked at CML, but certainly SW2 has modules for time, memory, latency.

Sure, I can look into the bonus honour thing. Any suggestions for the honour module are welcome, in fact. I don't pvp at all so I have no idea what would be useful.
Again, ty for such a kind reply.

I pvp for fun and some cool upgrades (S1 arena for example, and soon S2 when v2.4 comes out). I think some features are nice, but most pvp dedicated mods can handle them. I use Fubar_honor to have a bar-display for honor session, this weekend's bonus honor BG, and overall pvp records (win/loss per BG, total, etc).

For pvp dedicated mods, I recommend SSPVP2 and/or AlarBGHelper (both available here on wowinterface).

Honest though, I only pay attention to weekend bonus BG and "honor today", so if these are easy to add, it'd be nice to have, otherwise I think the way it is now is more than sufficient.

One question, there's a mod called CML (found on wowace.com) that shows clock-memory-latency, but has a nice look. Can Status Window do the same or similar (for looks, I know SW2 does much more)?

Oh, and don't worry about the auto-sell gray items, as I have other mods to do that as well as auto-repair (lazy man FTW).

This is probably intuitive, but I can't find the options for it. Is it possible to make it a bar-like listing instead of a "window"? In your first picture you showed a Fubar-like display...

Can it also auto repair and auto sell gray items? I use other mods for this, but just wondering...if it's too much coding, then nevermind. Just curious.

On the honor section, is it possible to show which one is the weekend bonus honor?

I defiintely like the low memory usage, as I use several Fubar addons to track different info, and having an all-in-one viewer would be very nice.

Yep, there'd be a StatusWindowOptions folder in your Addons directory as well, and that'd be the only visible change as far as the user is concerned.

The only thing that would be in there is the configuration frame definition and related code that is not necessary for the addon's basic operation. (This is the same way SBF does it).

I think I'd be more likely to put ammo and shards as separate modules since those are class-specific (as a warrior, if I wanted to track my ammo I'd just use item count, but I can see a hunter wanting to track quiver slots and such). I'm finished the reload UI one (and mail :P) as separate modules. They take up less than 3k of memory each =) Those would be similarly small as well, for sure.

Glad you like the memory change!

I like the modular approach as well. The one caveat to that is the basic library that would be used by all of the modules. Exactly the way you have a separate file for SBF Options.

Also, I'm not sure if it ever made it into the comments section, or if it stopped with thinking about it. I don't see my post, so I'm going to bet that it was the latter...

Would it be terribly difficult to add ammo/shard space to the bag space option? For example 15/80 (23/28)... (shard count/shard bag space)

Oh! and I really like the way you list only a certain number of addons for memory usage. Brilliant! You've no idea how much that feature has helped me

I like the idea personally. Seems to me the only real noticeable difference would just be an extra folder to copy when installing... right?

Hm, I think I have an idea how that's happening (someone comes online or goes offline while the list is open). For now I'll put beta 8 up as is and look into that one.

I was scrolling through the guild panel and noticed the following error in my bugsack...

[2008/01/31 19:35:13-203-x5]: StatusWindow-2\StatusWindowModule.lua:39: bad argument #2 to 'SetFormattedText' (number expected, got nil)
StatusWindow-2\StatusWindowModule.lua:39: in function <Interface\AddOns\StatusWindow\StatusWindowModule.lua:38>
StatusWindow-2\StatusWindowModule.lua:872: in function `tooltipCallback'
...ibScrollingDropDown-1.0\LibScrollingDropDown-1.0.lua:314: in function <...ibScrollingDropDown-1.0\LibScrollingDropDown-1.0.lua:312>

I'm not really sure how long it had been there but didn't notice it until right after I was checking to see who in my guild was online.
