Mapster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.5.6.1
by: Nevcairiel [More]
Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features
  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons
  • Access to the WotLK Instance Maps from anywhere!

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot.
All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:

I agree about the Zone info. Showed recommended levels, fishing requirements, dungeons and their levels, etc, etc.

Is there a addon that might do this now??

Clicking on the map

I seem to have a problem where I can't click on the map to change my view. For example, I click on the drop down menus to change the continent, but nothing happens. If I'm in Grizzly Hills and I click on Zul'Drak, nothing happens. Anyone else have something like this going on?

EDIT: There seems to be a conflict with some other mod. I'm tracking it down. If anyone else has had this happen, let me know and I can get it figured out quicker.

I'm getting this exact same error every time I log into a character.

After much time troubleshooting by eliminating other AddOns, I finally tried deleting the Mapster folder in AddOns and the Mapster.lua files in SavedVariables, then reinstalling Mapster. That fixed it.
Ahh... much better!

I think QuestHelper corrupted something in Mapster. I won't go into the whole story, but I posted some details in QuestHelper's comments.

chat log spam

Yesterday I suddenly started getting spammed by text in the General Chat log like below. Sometimes it is ten or twenty lines, sometimes it goes on for 50 or more lines:

Code:
Mapster: Subzone: GiantsRun in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: GiantsRun in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: GiantsRun in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: FortWildervar in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: Halgrind in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: Halgrind in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: BaelgunsExcavationSite in zone: HowlingFjord
Mapster: Subzone: BaelgunsExcavationSite in zone: HowlingFjord
I've never seen this before. I tried disabling some recent AddOn updates I have installed, but I couldn't get it to stop doing this.

Edit: I disabled ALL AddOns except Mapster, and it still does it.

It scrolls some of the text like above once in a while even with no other AddOns, but with a recent update to MobMap, now it continuously scrolls the text forever without stop when MobMap is enabled.

PLEASE fix this! I really want to use Mapster... it's the only map mod I will use, but not like this.
