Chinchilla Minimap  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v2.13.0
by: ckknight, Ravendwyr

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance

Allows changing of blip size (useful since 3.1), border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Auto zoom
Zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap
Tracking dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colorblindness.
Wheel zoom
Mousewheel to zoom the minimap

Sure wish we could get an update on this great minimap addon....

major problem is the location bar that shows up after a zone event.

For some reason ckknight no longer updates his mods here (I have no idea why (looking might help but I'm lazy), and I f**king hate curse, which has lead me to look for alternatives).

Anyway, those desperate for Chinchilla, it's on Curse at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...hinchilla.aspx

the project has not been updated in a while but the addon still works.

for those of you missing the minimap tracking button, there might be a solution.

if you are using Elkanos buffbar, that addon has an option to disable the tracking button. all you have to do is right click the EBB button and uncheck the Hide minimap tacking button, and you should be good.

for those of you missing the calendar button. i suggest you look through all your addon options to see what is there.

i was missing bot the tracking and calendar buttons, i fixed the tracking with the EBB solution. the calendar button took me a bit longer and i figured out that the addon minimalist has a "hide minimap clutter option" it was checked and that is what was hiding my calendar button. so i unchecked it in minimalist and now everything works perfectly.

cheers

~P~

This addon has not even been updated (on wowinterface) for 3.0 and you're giving stack traces for 3.1?!

Sir, you are off your rocker.

Bug link not working so posting here:

I hide the location bar but it doesn't vanish.

Edit: Updated to new version on Wowace, location now disappears but not calendar and zoom out/in ?

Edit: All fixed

Hi, just an addon request. I know I can change the size of my blip but is there anyway to change the color or make it blink with a hotkey or button. No matter what minimap you have the Blip can be hard to see in the Northrend snowy background.

If you're using Fubar with the Clock addon, this could be turning off the Calendar from the Minimap. You can deactivate this through the Fubar_Clock options.

Very sweet addon. Cannot wait for the update.

Also chinchillas are awesome.

They're even more awesome when taking a bath in volcano ash. ^^.

Vanishing options?

Since today's "patch", Chinchilla options have disappeared, my map has reset to default, and there's no way to change it. The addons screen shows it's active, but in game, there are no options for Chinchilla whatsoever, and the map stays reset. Every possible way to trigger the config options fails. Methinks Blizz borked something in the new little patch they threw out today.

Hopefully it's a minor thing, and can be fixed fairly easily.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Got a problem with custom borders in Chinchilla

Made texture sets: Cat and Kittyui

Cat has ears, Kittyui does not.

When I set border style to: Cat Round - ears show fine
When I set border style to: Cat Square - shows kittyui square texture
When I set border style to: Kittyui Round - shows fine
When I set border style to: Kittyui Square - shows kittyui square texture

So my wonder is why is Cat Square showing the Kittyui square texture?

All the files are named correctly :/

Chinchilla_Appearance:AddBorderStyle("Cat", L["Cat"],

[[Interface\AddOns\Chinchilla\Appearance\Border-Cat-Round]],

[[Interface\AddOns\Chinchilla\Appearance\Border-Cat-Square]])

Chinchilla_Appearance:AddBorderStyle("Kittyui", L["Kittyui"],

[[Interface\AddOns\Chinchilla\Appearance\Border-Kitty-Round]],

[[Interface\AddOns\Chinchilla\Appearance\Border-Kitty-Square]])
