I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos3 is a main action bar replacement designed be both powerful, yet lightweight and easy to use.

Included Addons:
  • Bongos - The core addon.
  • Bongos_AB - The action bar portion of Bongos.
  • Bongos_CastBar - A casting bar replacement. Colors the bar based on if the spell being cast is helpful, harmful or neutral. Also includes a timer.
  • Bongos_RollBar - Makes the dialogs that pop up when rolling on items movable.
  • Bongos_Stats - A movable framerate, latency, and addon memory usage indicator.
  • Bongos_XP -A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Bongos_Options - A load on demand options menu.

  • Every bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar

So, the !UIOptions_2.4 addon is from Trinity Bars. Only run it if you're running Bongos3 on a 2.3 realm.

Differences from Bongos2 to Bongos3
  • The configuration interface has been completely redesigned. The old /bongos options menu is now part of the new interface options menu. All right click menus now look more Blizzard like. The minimap button has been redone: <Left Click> to enter and exit configuration mode. <Shift Left Click> to enter and exit bindings mode, and <Right Click> to show the options menu.
  • Action Bar bindings are now done via the state binding mechanism, and are now treated as sitting on top of the standard binding interface. This means that if you set a binding to Bongos, it won't completely remove it from the normal binding interface, and thus work if you unload Bongos. It also means I get to finally setup default bindings, and thus end the problem of "my bindings don't work when in <stance>" It also means that action bar bindings are now attached to a profile.
  • It is now possible to create bars of arbitrary sizes via the new "painting" mechanism. In configuration mode, simply hold down alt, click and drag to create a new action bar. The system is still limited to 120 buttons. I don't feel as if the API is quite ready/there's a huge need to break the limit.
  • It is now possible to hide bars until a macro condition happens. Check the wiki for more details.
  • Settings between Bongos2 and Bongos3 are incompatible. I'm not going to be writing a converter, because I don't wanna test it

Hey Tuller... trying out Bongos3 and I love it so far. Only thing I noticed isn't actually a problem with Bongos3 necessarily but it seems that Cycircled only affects the pet bar. Does Cycircled need to be changed to work with the new Bongos or is that something you're still working on since this is Beta?

I never code anything myself to support cyCircled, its all done on their end

That being said, action buttons were renamed to Bongos3ActionButton<id>, which will need to be corrected. While you're at it, make sure that the bag and class bars are skinned properly, too :P

The one in orange is right :P UIOptions2.4 simply backports the new options menu to 2.3, so if you're running on a 2.4 realm, you should not use it.

Hm.. I got a small problem with key bindings...

When I created a new character I usually bind "-" to "Open Chat Slash" .. because the key is on german keyboard where the "/" is on english one.

I got the message that "Action Button 11 Function is Now Unbound" but the keybinding didn't work after I hit ok. I did not see that the key was still bound to the bar because I had no spell in that slot, in the keybinding interface everything looked ok .. "-" was bound to "Open Chat Slash" now.

Would it perhaps be possible to remove bindings from bar if they are assigned elsewhere in the Keybinding interface ? Or would it be possible to disable keybindings on buttons without content ? Don't know how to solve this best way but current state could irritate users.

The one in orange is right :P UIOptions2.4 simply backports the new options menu to 2.3, so if you're running on a 2.4 realm, you should not use it.
Thanks Tuller! I made some changes but having to wait for the servers to come back up to test. I'll post something if I can get it working.

Just about to install and try, but is it possible to set bar positions by x.y co-ords? That's a feature I'd love to see.

I don't implement it directly, but /run Bongos.Bar:SetPoint(<id>, <point>) should work. The args after <id> are the same as those for the normal version of SetPoint.

I'm absolutely falling in love with Bongos 3... it's amazing! I just have a question about the possess bar... do I need to have a bar setup with a certain amount of buttons for it to work properly? For example, would it cause a problem if I just setup one bar of 3 rows and 24 columns and have the possess bar just set to bar 1? Just thought of another question while typing... where would the possess bar appear in this configuration? Thanks Tuller and I just have to say that I've found absolutely 0 bugs so far.

The possess bar will replace the first 12 slots of whatever bar you mark as being the possess bar (only 10 are actually used). The rest of the buttons on your bar, if they exist, will remain the same.

I assume Bongos 2 will still work in patch 2.4? Or did I assume wrong?
Nothing should break with Bongos2 in 2.4.

Great work, thanks for making a great bar addon, been using Bongos2 since I started playing about a year ago.

Looked through the Wiki and the comments here, but couldn't find how to move the minimap. When I go to configure the bars all of them "highlight" except for the map. It shows being highlighted in your screenshot so I know it's got to be something that I'm missing. Using the bongos3 file from here along with the !UIOptions since I'm not on the 2.4 realm. That might be my problem. Is there something I need to do to activate !UIOptions other than having it loaded with the rest of the addons?

I hope you don't mind me stepping in to answer this but the minimap mod is in a separate add-on now and is no longer part of Bongos in bongos 3. It is now called Cornucopia and you can get it at http://code.google.com/p/jalimods/downloads/list. I haven't tried it yet as it too is still in Beta.

Much appreciated. Was getting to the point that I thought it might be an external addon. Just didn't know if it was new or previously released.
