Not quite true, at least for me when playing enGB 2.4.3.8606.

v0.936 and v0.937 show me a full progress bar with no %-text, no recipes at all and the following error:

The tooltips have been added recently, you can filter out world drops as well.

As for LoD, it's something I've been looking at but haven't invested any time into it. ARL by itself uses about 500kb of memory (because of the database) but uses 0 cpu time unless you actually click the scan button... cpu time > memory usage.
