Simple Light Data Text v6.0.01

SLDataText is a lightweight addon based on text based modules, which can be moved & customized independently or globally. It includes LibSharedMedia support for expanded font selection, and various degrees of mouse click interaction on various module frames. It also supports user-created plug-ins to expand on the module selection beyond what is included in this package. Plug-ins can be as vast or as tiny as desired. Included is are custom libraries (LibSL-1.0 and LibSLTip-1.0) that are used for module configuration menu management and interactive tooltips.

Each module can be positioned independently via dragging and placement can be fined tuned via the configuration menu. Fine tuning includes manual frame anchoring, text justification, X/Y value tweaking, and frame strata value.

Each module has an independent configuration menu, and the AddOn has a global menu to handle unified font types & sizes. The following modules are contained in this package:

  • NEW!!! Guild: Displays current online Guild Member count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • NEW!!! Friends: Displays current online Friend count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • Armor: Displays current overall gear durability value as well as a tooltip that provides detailed durability information. This module also has an auto-repair feature.
  • Bag: Displays remaining & total bag space. Click interaction toggles your bags open & closed.
  • Clock: Displays selected Local or Realm time, with options for 12 & 24 hour format(s). Tooltip provides expanded time information, and click interaction toggles both the Time Manager & Calendar windows.
  • Coords: A simple map coordinate display.
  • Currency: Displays currency of your choosing based on your "discovered" currencies. Interactive tooltip provides full currency list and allows for display selection.
  • Exp: Displays experience point information, including percentage & rest percentage.
  • FPS: A simple framerate display.
  • Gold: Displays current overall Gold in long or short format, tooltip shows session-based values (Starting/Current/Earned).
  • Latency: A simple latency display.
  • Mail: A simple mail indicator inheriting the stock MinimapMailFrame tooltip.
  • Memory: Displays current UI memory usage, as well as provides click interaction for manual garbage collection and a detailed list of AddOn usage.
  • Reputation: Displays current tracked Reputation. Utilizes Blizzards built-in tracking on the Reputation pane, "XP Bar" watched Reputations will be displayed.
  • ZoneText: A simple ZoneText display with PvP-Type coloration.
Be sure to check the Other Files tab for additional modules, such as Guild, Friends, and StatLine!

/sldt config[*]Toggle drag & drop/configuration mode
/sldt global[*]Open global configuration menu
/sldt <module>[*]Open module configuration menu

Note: In drag & drop/configuration mode, you can left click & drag to move modules, or right click modules to open their specific configuration menu. The Global Configuration Menu has global options such as font & sizes that carry over into the modules, as well as profile options and tooltip scaling for LibSLTip tooltips.

You will see the amount of friends now, but you cannot interact, then you'll get an error.
That code doesn't help the fact that you cannot get the mouseover tooltips showing. If I try, I get this error:

2x SLDataText\Elements\friends-Friends.lua:61: bad argument #5 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)
[C]: in function `format'

Open Friends.lua with a Text Editor and Replace:

BNGetToonInfo -> BNGetGameAccountInfo
BNGetFriendToonInfo -> BNGetFriendGameAccountInfo
BNGetNumFriendToons -> BNGetNumFriendGameAccounts
Hmm, doing that (there was one instance each of BNGetFriendToonInfo and BNGetNumFriendToons, but not BNGetToonInfo) made the module re-appear with the right number, but it still doesn't show the list on mouseover. Is the mouseover behavior working for you?

Re: Currency module

Hiya, fantastic addon, but for reasons I can't figure out, my currency addon doesn't work right (even after flushing the savedvariables). 90% of the time it doesn't show the tooltip when i mouseover, therefore i can't change the currency displayed. If i go into config mode, to manually change it with the drop-down box, it simply offers the currency option of "None". On random occasion it will work on an alt but its not consistent.

For all those who are trying to change the global font, but are having no luck, this is how I did it.

Go into the WTF file and find the profile you want to change the text for.
Then add in this bit of code:
["gFont"] = "font name",

Guild List Fix

Hi Folks,

As of 7-16-2015 my guild list portion of this add-on was broken, it would not show up at all (the SLDT Guild text) and I was experiencing a delay in game when trying to bring up the guild list through the regular wow menu.

Here is how to get it working again.

Find this file: World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\SLDataText_Guild\SLDataText_Guild.lua

Open it to edit it.

Search for this ", GetGuildLevel()" and remove it. [must remove the comma as well]

[This function has been removed by wow, see: http://wowprogramming.com/docs/api/GetGuildLevel]

Save the file.

Reload your UI.

EDIT: Here is how you can remove the () that shows up after your guild's name when you mouse over. EDIT

Open the file as above.

Look for this: "SLT:AddHeader("SLDT_Guild", string.format("%s (%s)", guildName or L["No Guild"], guildLevel or ""), guildMotto)"

Remove the highlighted (red) portion above.

Save the file.

Reload the UI.

I love this add-on and this was driving me crazy. I hope this helps someone.

PS: I know this leaves some unnecessary code in the .lua file by not removing the other instances of the guildLevel reference but I don't code lua and just wanted it to work again.

Had a problem and had to re-install my game. Now the SLDT Friends module gives me an error. I'll post it here.
Lua Code:
  1. ["message"] = "Interface\\AddOns\\SLDataText\\Elements\\friends-Friends.lua:160: Usage: AceDBObject:RegisterNamespace(name, defaults): 'name' - a namespace with that name already exists.",

Sorry. I got it in my installation of !BugGrabber. What does it mean and is there any way I can fix it?

EDIT: My mistake. I copied over my old installation from my old game, and it had the "Friends" module with it. Deleted it and no more error. Kept the SLDT addon, though. Wouldn't be without it. SHEESH! Sorry. /EDIT
Ahhhh, the vagueries of the aging mind. Wait.... What was I saying?

Carbonite <----- GitHub main module (Maps ONLY) download link. The other modules are also available on GitHub.

Hey, is there a way to make the outline be monochrome? I use a pixel font and it kinda gets a bit fuzzy. Love the addon otherwise.

I would love this to be a module for broker. I've been using SLDT for a very long time now and I would much prefer if I could add this as a module then switch to Bazooka or Titan panel. Any help or redirects would greatly be appreciated.

Can anyone please tell me how to open (and close, if different) the config mode using a script? i.e. how to do /sldt config with script.

Reason I want to know is that I have a bug with the Experience and Reputation modules. Neither will keep their Justify variable between sessions. That variable is not being saved into the SavedVariables file (nor the anchor frame and anchor point variables).

If I open and close the config window with /sldt config, the problem fixes. So the workaround I want to implement is having a script open and close the config mode at login.
