Power Auras
Power Auras Classic   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

This addon was created to provide visual cues (auras) when you gain buffs, debuffs and many more. Very useful for shorts buffs or debuffs, it allows you to draw in the center of the screen, or around your character, very customizable visual effects, rather than having to look at or mouseover buff/debuff icons/actionbars.

Initially created to give visual cues for short duration procs like "clear casting" or some boost trinket you activate, many more aura triggers have been added since.
It now works with debuffs (whatever their name), debuff types (like Magic or Curse), combo points, harmful area spells, weapon enchants, Health, Mana, Rage or Energy thresholds, action cooldowns, aggro, pvp status and stance or shapeshift form.


How to use :

1- Type /powa, to open the effect browser
2- Click on the button "New" to create a new effect
3- On the effect editor, you can choose the texture to apply to the effect, the position, the size, the symmetry, be creative :P
4- Below, select the activator of the effect (like a buff, debuff, etc...)
5- Enter the name of the buff, debuff... just below (or a part of the buff, like "clear" for activation with the buff "clear cast"). Don't forget to read the tooltips for more help on ways to enter the names
6- It's ready ! Close all windows, when you gain the buff/debuff, the effect appears


You can easily add new textures by adding them in the "Custom" Directory,
or dropping sequentially numbered Auraxx.tga files in the Auras subfolder inside the addon directory.

Use your raid frames for that. Do you use Healbot or Grid or something like that? If not, you should get one. I use Grid for healing and use the corner auras to show PW:S and WS.

I am a Disc Priest and I would like to set up a power aura for each of my party or raid members showing if they have PW:S or Weakened Soul. Is this possible and if so how? Can I specify a specific target like "party1,party2" etc.?

Buff Countdown?

Is there any way with Powa to show a buff countdown? Or alternately to have it flash after a certain amount of time?

For instance, I get a buff that lasts 20 seconds, I want to know when that buff is about to end so rather than have it flash for 15 seconds and then stop I want it to NOT FLASH for 15 seconds and then Flash for the last 5 seconds (or just show big numbers in the middle of my screen with a count down).

There are several uses for this but in my case I wait until the DK Killing Machine is about to end before I use it in case I also get a proc of Rime (Freezing Fog) and vice versa.

Does the health activation option not work? What i want is a particular texture to appear when I'm at 90% or less HP. Set the HP to 90% and tried invert, logical options, set party or self etc - nothing seemed to trigger the HP texture display.

Anyone help?

ops - worked it out myself - was testing health jumping off things on my mount, only appeared when i unmounted

You'll be wanting to post that error under Smacker's File here

You will also find some resources of pre-made Auras on the front page of that link.

I am aware that having 2 pages for 'the same' addon is not exactly convenient for users
and we have been trying (Smacker and myself) to resolve this but wowi's svn hasn't been very accommodating sofar.

Aura Collections?

Is there a forum anywhere with a collection of auras already made that we could import?

With a faction change and server transfer I lost my spiffy auras and have been looking for more.

Edit: Actually I found one -> Rivkah's World of Warcraft
But I'm still looking for more.

Try the V2.6.1 in optional files, that has spec based options.
