Q&A
Q: Why can't I report names in battleground/arena matches?
1) You should be focused on winning the match, not reporting people.
2) You are more likely to report people in anger (because they clobbered you, etc.)
3) Players may be from all different realm types, and some violations don't apply to certain realm types.
Q: Why do users of NameViolation have to copy and paste the ticket message?
A: Because of the recent addition of the "Report Spam" feature, Blizzard assumed that there was no longer any need for reporting addons and removed the ability to automatically create new tickets. Yet the process to report Naming Policy violations remains very inconvenient.
Until this is addressed (suggestions have certainly been made), NameViolation works around this oversight by showing the report message in another frame for easy copy and paste. Note that it is currently impossible to directly set the text of the ticket window, or else that's just what this addon would do.
Q: Is this addon legal?
A: This addon does not allow players to do anything they cannot already do -- it just makes life easier. For example, players can already keep a list of names and report them using copy and paste. With NameViolation, there's just less alt-tabbing and/or scraps of paper to worry about.

I meant option when I said button earlier.

There's got to be an incompatibility somewhere, because it's working for me and others. Here's something to try: open key bindings, scroll to the bottom and assign a key to NameViolation. Then target the hunter pet and try hitting the key.
You can also use "/nv add <pet name>".
I tried SimpleUnitFrames (right link?) but was still able to report pets just fine. Are you sure there's nothing else you're using that might overlap?

And I noticed that the reported names were not removed from the list a few times after the ticket was closed by a GameMaster. How does NameViolation know that the names were reported?
I used /nv remove 1 a few times to remove the first entry to "fix" it.
It hooks into the submit action and records all names in the ticket... if you change text after copying and pasting, you might fool it into thinking you were reporting something else.
Anyway, you can always remove them manually, and "/nv clear" will remove all names.
There is no Button or popup menu if I select a Hunter pet or rightclick on the targetframe after selecting it even with v1.1.

It's working fine for me. Are you targeting your own pet? (The violation button won't appear, as it seems unlikely a hunter would ever want to report their own pet's name.) Likewise for non-combat pets like cats, parrots etc.
If it's neither of those things, it could be a conflict with another addon... do you have many installed?
If you haven't downloaded the latest version (1.1), you can try that, but I really don't know why it wouldn't be working.

But I noticed that the RPPvP Realm "Das Konsortium" is missing in the helper.lua and does anyone know how to report Pets? I can't rightclick the pet Target frame and if I rightclick the Hunter or Warlock there is no option for the Pet.
Can't believe I missed Das Konsortium (I seem to have all the others). I'll be sure to add it to the list in the next version.
To report pets, make sure that the Pets option is on and that Target Frame is not turned off (/nv options). You should be able to report hunter pets right away because those options are on by default.
Also, only hunter pets are reportable because all others (e.g., warlocks') are assigned a name automatically when summoned, and of course the name is never against the Naming Policy since Blizzard created them.

Iam from Germany and could help you localize.
Thanks for the offer. There are probably a few strings of text that aren't quite ready for localization, but I'll address that in the next version.
