Delsim's standard minimal UI   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
THE QUARTZ /PLAYER/Player.lua HAS A CHANGED STRATA SETTING FROM THE REGULAR "MEDIUM" setting to the new "HIGH" value (so the player castbar isn't covered by the actionbar buttons). SO DON'T UPDATE QUARTZ MANUALLY UNLESS YOU CHANGE THIS YOURSELF.

This UI was created using 1440x900 widescreen resolution. Higher widescreen resolutions have been said to function fine though, with no additional configuration needed. Non-Widescreen resolutions have seemed to work well for some users before, however a few of the addons may need repositioning and font scaling will likely need to be adjusted for several addons because of the use of pixel fonts in this layout, which have strict sizing requirements in order to display them clearly.

This is a more forgiving version of my other minimal layout. It has everything my other, more trimmed layout version has, but with the addition of visible chatframes in the layout instead of the former hidden (minichat) frames. eePanels was used to create effective (yet not too overpowering) backdrop displays for these chatframes in order to make text consistently easy to read in any gameworld enviornment. To increase the target unitframe information a different unitframe texture appearance is being used for the frames. Also statusbar class coloring is now enabled for the target health bar, aswell as additional target name and information text.

Custom artwork is used for Pitbull's border.tga in the /aura/ folder, Fubar's background.tga, and simpleminimap /skins/ folder files. So if you update those addons manually, be sure to copy over the custom images used by this UI to any updated versions of those addons.

Refer to the included .txt file for full information and instructions.

======================================================
INSTALLATION STEPS:

1. Backup your current /WTF/, /Interface/, and (if you have one) /Fonts/ folders. Remove these from your WoW folder.

2. Delete your /Logs/, /Cache/, /Errors/ folders. You can back these up also, not really needed though. There should now only be a /Data/, /Screenshots/, and WowTest server folder if you happen to have the test server client that is.

3. Extract the folders from this .zip file into your World of Warcraft folder. If it prompts to overwrite something, this means you didn't remove one of first three folders mentioned above, make sure you do this and try again.

4. After you extract everything, open up the new /WTF/ folder in your game directory. Now open up the /Account/ folder inside.

5. Rename the folder/ACCOUNTNAME/ to whatever the name of your account is that you log onto the game with. Type this account name in all caps. Open up this folder afterwards.

6. Rename the folder /YOURREALM/ to the name of your realm that your character is on that you will be loading this interface with. Open this folder up afterwards.

7. Rename /PLAYERNAME/ to whatever your character's name is on the realm. If you have multiple characters you want to use the layout with, simply make additional copies of this folder and use them for any other characters you want to have inherit this configuration (of course setting the foldername to that character's name).

(any help would be amazing <3)

again awesome ui compilation!
Thanks a lot. Additional addons should be able to be added without any differences from normal. Maybe make sure the addon is checked to be enabled before logging onto your character with the addons enable/disable screen. Only other idea would be that perhaps if you use the wowace auto updater to get additional addons - try just manually grabbing it from http://files.wowace.com instead. I don't use the auto updater so the internal libraries that are bundled with manual addon versions (not the ones grabbed by the auto updater) may not mesh well with my UI which uses internal libraries in all of the addons.

Yes the MyMedia folder and .lua file in SharedMedia has all my custom bars/fonts/borders/etc. Just move the folder and file into the SharedMedia folder if you update versions manually ever.

I think I'll give Trinity bars a try actually because I don't think I ever tried it. Also I'll see if Bartender3 doesn't have this low strata issue that bongos3 unfortunately has. thanks for the idea. I just grew attached to bongos I guess =P

You also have custom files for Shared Media, too, correct? What should I backup from that folder? WAU still updates SharedMedia. Even tho the Ace folks have deprecated the addon, they still make commits and update it.

Also, have you tried Trinity2 Bars at all? I know your notes say to stick with Bongos2 for the strata feature, but thats a deprecated addon now, I believe, so I'm wondering if Trinity might be a good replacement... especially with its ability to "hide" bars and buttons. I think I'll skip OUF and rBars and stick with Pitbull and give Trinity2 Bars a try.

I might change to oUF and rBars, but still keeping your layout appearance. I'm a clicker by nature, but trying to force myself away from tehclick and over to keybinding, since I hear thats a makeorbreak for PVP in this game.

I just added in my workhorse addons tonight, got everything playing nice (the WTF Saves copies got goofy on me and I lost stuff like minimap art, etc.), but I finally got it all working, no errors and I hogged up the Addon folder very nicely.

Nah, actually I am only pushing 31.5m, I think the original was 21.5m, and I got 2g to fill, but I want to keep the minimalistic appearance and I am making no changes to your layout art placements (which is what I was after anyway )

My raid layout plans will be either Grid+Clique or oUF raid frames in a grid with Clique (which I plan to use on my other frames anyway) then whatever crap a new guild will want me to install.

Re: 1680 Wide

Thank you very much for letting me know how flexible everything was with a different resolution setup. One of the things I rarely get to see is how things appear on different resolutions and work out for people - so I'm always extremely appreciative of any observations and feedback from those who use different resolutions and experienced some degree of sucess despite perhaps a few minor things that were needing adjustment, I may even be able to remedy myself in the future.

Thanks again. btw I stopped raiding long ago (used to be hardcore haha), so anybody who has simple pointers on party/raid frame improvements or what needs to be added added or changed to group-frames would be much appreciated.

All I had to do was config Bongos per instructions (and my prefs), well I also changed the font to my preferred (Trebuchet MS Bold). I just do not like the Atari 2600-ish font types (or most of the computerized font types that are so popular with alot of minimalistic UI designers) and then set the font size in Chat window to 11, which I may still change to 12 because its a bit small for my tastes, still.

I was very interested to see how the UF/Action/Quartz config would look, its a neat concept. Again, its a bit small for my tastes on a 1680 WS screen, so I might try to resize that area as well.

(oh yea, I added Fane for the chat tab, just in case anyone wonders what that is)
