Chocobo
What does it do?

Taxi flights can be rather dull, and I like jazzing them up with a spot of music. To that end, I slapped together Chocobo, a mod which plays a song or two when I'm flying from place to place.

How do I use this?

Type /chocobo or go to the main menu, then to Interface, then Addons, then Chocobo. There are only two configuration options to be found there, and they're to add and remove music. You can cite the music by name, so you won't have to rename anything you drop in the media folder.

So... any suggestions?

I'm rather partial to the Chocarena, myself.
  Change Log - Chocobo
1.0: I feel this mod has reached a milestone, in that it's achieved a level of stability to the point where (despite my efforts to break it) I haven't seen any bugs in quite some time. This milestone also implies that I'm unable to think of any relevant features to add at this time without bloating out this mod, and there's nothing left to do that wouldn't be superfluous. Thus, this mod will likely be left untouched until a new feature is desired, or until a new Warcraft patch breaks it (if that happens). As of now, this mod should be considered stable.

revision160508: Hopefully got the embeds sorted now, and I've fixed some weirdness with Chocobo sometimes resetting the music to the start of the track just before landing.

revision140508: Removed the need for AceTimer (it's been taken out of the embeds).

revision120508: Did a little spring cleaning and got rid of two possible (but not definite) bugs; the options screen might sometimes be ordered weirdly, and the mod might error if the player's track database was empty. It's unlikely that either bug would have occured, but it's nice to have my bases covered.

revision060508b: Whoops, the zip command I used didn't catch the empty Media folder, so it wasn't in the version below.

revision060508: I've removed the music file from the zip and simply linked to it, that's probably for the best (even though it was fun to have some music there, out of the box). I've also embedded the nessescary libraries, so you no longer need to download Ace separetely. Just drop Chocobo in your Addons folder and you're good to go!

revision050508: Initial release.

Ah, they do different things.

The one you've linked to deals with item based mounts, and the closest thing I have to that is Hallelujah. Hallelujah though is sound based, rather than music (which plays on a loop), so it's meant more for alerts and warnings.

Chocobo is meant for flying taxis, such as the Horde wind-riders, the Alliance hippogryphs and so on. The only time that Chocobo will play is if the player is on a controlled-route mount, it's just there to add a little flavour to the rather tedious process of being flown from point A to point B.

Chocobo is akin to what you might consider to be elevator music. Whether that's good or bad is up to the person and their personal tastes, but since in this case I get to pick the music, it's pretty fun.

You might be wondering why I called it Chocobo, though. It's because in Final Fantasy XI there were fixed-route mounts similar to Warcraft's taxis. But they were, of course, Chocobos. And when Chocobos move about, they're always accompanied by cheery music.

I doubt I'll create an Addon that works for mount items because that's not something I'm after (I tend t create my mods for my Guild and myself, but I share them on WoWI just in case anyone else might think like us and enjoy them too), but if anyone asks for that functionality, I now know the Addon to point them to.
