Dominos   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Have a question? Check out the Dominos wiki first!

Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:
  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:
  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Full button facade support
  • Keybound support
  • Sticky frames
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • A movable roll frame (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Possess bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:
  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:
  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.

...and this is why I wrote it:
  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.
  • Hold down alt while moving a bar to disable sticky bars

You can use the following to add extra functionality:
  • RedRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • ButtonFacade - Allows you to change the look of the action, pet, and class buttons
  • Inline Aura - Adds buff and debuff highlighting + duration text
  Change Log - Dominos
As of 1.9.x, I've discontinued Dominos_Buffs in favor of Inline Aura. My decision for doing so is that its maintained by another person, and also because it adds in some nice features, such as buff durations.

Thank You!

After running into problems with bongos 3, I started the painful search for a new bar mod. I even used the Blizzard interface for a short time, a time in my life I chose to forget . I found this mod and was on the edge about trying it till I saw who the mod author was. Needless to say I am not disappointed at all. Excellent job!!! Easy to use and very simple to set up, similar to bongos 2 and the skinning options are awesome. I tip my hat to you. It is mod authors like pourself that put the fun into this game and keeping the mods simple but useful are traits that sometimes are hard to find. Keep up the good work. I am now a Domino's fan and I aint talking pizza!

When a button facade skin isn't chosen, this is what it looks like to enable the grid. When you choose a skin, it fixes and you can see all the empty buttons normally. However, when you log out and back in, it looks like this again.

Great job btw, no more bongos or bartender for me!
Can you explain this one a bit more for me?
Actually I think I get it, somewhat. I can get a double backdrop if I try. You may want to report this to the button facade people as an issue. I cannot do much about it since I'm using the stock buttons.

1. Do you plan an option like RedRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range?

2. maybe an configwindow that is moveable? The blizzardone isnt or i'm to stupid to find it.

3. ..... i dont remember. ok only two questions at the moment.
I'd prefer people using RedRange for this functionality.
You don't have to have the config frame open to move your bars

There's a couple of issues with BF support right now in Dominos. I'll be working on it when I get home, and have a test fix in the SVN version.

Or does simply commenting out "button facade support" in dominos.lua would work ?
A one bag option is not likely. Button facade semi support: Writing a dominos/bongos skin for BF is likely the best option.

oh sad i'll have to configure my action bars again for all my chars

But what shall I do? Your action bars are the best out there (compared to blizzard default, trinity bars and bartender) and if even yourself write, that bongos was a bit too much, than i'll switch.

kiss -> keep it simple stupid

Please don't dismiss Combuctor, too. If i was only allowed to have 3 addons, that would be definitely "Tullar-ActionBars", ag_UF and Combuctor

I loaded it for a bit, just to check it out - and the one thing that I'm missing is the # of pages ability - I play a druid and a ShadowPriest. It was nice to have the pages with available skills switch automatically depending on what form I was in. Is this functionality going to be put into Dominos?

I don't think so. Dominos appears to be much more directed to bars with several buttons. Depends of what Tuller expects to with this.

I tested Dominos for the first time and it has some nice improvements from Bongos. This are the features I most liked:
  • The menus core code appers to be included in the Config
  • The profiles being in a sub-division. Much easier to use!
  • Not having to show the minimap button to enter in config/keybinding mode
  • The improvement of efficiency
  • The new options to set the number of rows/columns in every bar
  • "Act as Possess Bar" being in the main options, and not in the bars menu
  • The visibility box being removed (never used it)

But there are some things I don't appreciate and keep me from using Dominos:
  • There are no longer specialized options (ex: "One Bag" in the bags menu)
  • Action buttons can't be set up with any number of bars
  • The minimap button was a nice feature to have
  • The white bars without a darken background don't make much sense
  • The ActionBar addon is not a separated module (besides, I think that the bags, pet , class and menu bars could also be separated modules)
  • You should reduce the font size of the profiles name in the profiles menu (they have the size of the title) XD
  • The default profile shouldn't be called 'Default', but have the following format: CharacterName - RealmName

Cheers and good development!

Absolutely LOVE this addon. Was a big fan of bongos, but it became harder and harder to configure the way I liked--this is perfect. I'm gonna be telling all my friends to switch :3
