ShieldsUp  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.3.48
by: Phanx [More]

ShieldsUp monitors your Earth Shield, Water Shield, and Lightning Shield.

  • Easy-to-read plain text display
  • Shows your active shields, their remaining charges*, and the name of your Earth Shield target
  • Optional text and sound alerts when one of your shields expires or is removed
  • Condensed display while solo (or for shamans without Earth Shield)
  • Support for all colorblindness modes
  • Support for custom fonts and sounds via LibSharedMedia-3.0 media packs
* Note that Water Shield and Lightning Shield will display a "W" or "L", respectively, except for elemental shamans, who will see a number for Lightning Shield when they have at least one extra charge.

Type “/sup” for options, or browse to the ShieldsUp panel in the standard Interface Options window.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why isn’t ShieldsUp monitoring my Earth Shield?
A: ShieldsUp only monitors Earth Shield when it’s cast on yourself, or on a player or pet in your party or raid group. There is no way for addons to reliably monitor buffs cast on units who are not in your group, so ShieldsUp doesn’t try.
Q: Why am I only seeing one charge counter?
A: ShieldsUp switches to a single-counter display when you are solo, or if you don’t have the Earth Shield talent, since in either situation it’s only possible for you to have one shield active on a target ShieldsUp can monitor.
Feedback
Post a ticket on GitHub or post a comment on this page. If you are reporting a problem, please read this first. If you are requesting a feature, please note that I consider ShieldsUp to be complete, and will probably not add any new features.
Language Support
Works in all languages. Translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano (partial), Português, Русский, 한국어 (partial), 简体中文, and 繁體中文. You can add or update translations for any language on the CurseForge project page.
Credits
ShieldsUp was originally based on Infineon’s beSch.

Well, after glancing at that addon's code, I need some of this:

...but I'll keep reading and see if I can figure out what the problem is. From the addon's changelog, though, it looks like it's still under heavy development, with tons of bugfix commits.

Found it That is tough with tons of mods installed.

0.2 beta hides the frame, bummer, I really like that mod.

When I load only ShieldsUp! it shows, when I enable all my other addons it's hidden. A mod would specifically have to hide that frame or is it considered part of another UI element? I'm not using default action bars, unit frames or totem frame.

Thanks

Yes

Yes, I double checked every setting and reset to defaults. Played with all the sliders to see if I could get it on screen and hid every other element incase it was behind them. Something is hiding it.

Versions other than the current one are not supported, and are likely to not work. They were superceded by newer versions for a reason.

Anyway, did check your visibility settings as I suggested? If you're standing in town and have "Hide when resting" checked, or aren't in a group and have "Hide when solo" checked, for example, then the display being hidden is expected and correct behavior.

Did the reset and even set it to Hor/Ver 0,0 and nothing shows, hmm.

Tried the Archived version and it gives a lua error, I'm stumped.

Hidden?

I can't get the text to show no matter how I position it. Is there a reset button?

if its possible to make a selection to "invert" the addon ?

something like an icon if no earth shield is castet or is missing or <2
or an icon for "water shield is missing" ?

its nice to see how mutch earth shield is left but in a different fight where chaos everywhere , an icon with an sound is a little better.

Altering the TOC number is strongly discouraged, for a number of reasons, not least that it makes it much more difficult to track down problems caused by addons that haven't been updated in a few patches. Blizzard put the checkbox into the game on purpose; there's no reason not to use it.

They could also manually update the toc file.

Probably beyond them.

Works in WoW 4.0/Cataclysm — check “Load out of date addons” at the addons screen.

TOC is still 30300 and will not work for ppl who haven't checked "Load out of date addons".
Other than that works great. Thanks for the update.
