PocketPlot 3.0!

PocketPlot has gone through a much needed, and long-awaited, rewrite! See the change log tab for a list of all changes in 3.0, including why I removed custom blip textures.


Features:
  • different shapes for your minimap (now 25!)
  • thin, black border (customizable color/alpha/thickness)
  • border and clock/coords have options to be colored by class
  • optional support for !ClassColors
  • moved and streamlined mail/bg/voice/LFG icons
  • moved zone text
  • option to hide zone text
  • hide tracking button (use shift-right-click on minimap to open menu)
  • SharedMedia support for fonts
  • zoom with mousewheel
  • hides map button, zoom in/out buttons, etc.
  • moved and streamlined clock
  • option to disable the clock
  • coordinates display (click coords to toggle world map, shift-click to send coords to chat)
  • "smart" coords/clock display (change positions depending on what's shown), can show below or above minimap **now with offsets
  • ability to move other frames related to the minimap (durability, vehicle seat indicator, instance difficulty/guild flag)
  • can also move WorldStateAlwaysUpFrame (top-center of screen status display)

Is there a slash command?
/pocketplot and /pp

How do I move the minimap or other frames?
In the PocketPlot config window, enable the mover for the frame you wish to reposition in the movers menu. Drag it wherever you wish. When finished, select "None" from the movers menu to get rid of the blue anchor. You can use the "Nudge" buttons to move a frame by one pixel at a time in any direction.

Where can I find more fonts?
For further font choices, I suggest the SharedMedia addon. Have a font you want to use that's not in there? Read the "Instructions for MyMedia.txt" file in the SharedMedia folder.

How can I move the tower capture bars?
I have opted to not support moving those, as it's a PITA to do so. I suggest the mods Capping or SSPVP3 for all of your pvp needs (including moving the capture bars and score frame).

How can I give feedback?
Feel free to leave your comments/questions here, but all bug reports and feature requests need to go to my portal if you want me to remember to do them.

Can I use your code/blips?
All use of my code and custom blips separate from PocketPlot must be for your own personal use and they may not be redistributed separate from the addon. You may use snippets of my code in addons you intend to distribute only after receiving permission, and credit must be given.

Can I redistribute your addons?
My addons may only be redistributed in UI compilations, and any mention of the addon must point to its download page or my portal, both on wowinterface.

I'm drawing a blank as to where in pocketplot.lua I can adjust the position of the new calendar invite "?" symbol. It's currently half on, and half off my minimap: screenshot

I'd like to move it to the left and up a little, but this is the only relevant line in the lua I can find:

GameTimeCalendarInvitesTexture:SetParent("Minimap")	 --the ? texture
I assume that means it's anchored to the minimap, but I don't see anything else anywhere that says where on the minimap it's anchored. Things like the new mail icon get a coordinates section:

Some also have a scale setting for that matter.

You don't see a space in the Lua for it, because it's not being moved from its default position. Also, SetTexCoord() defines what portion of a texture to display (cropping it). SetPoint() sets a frame's location. The line you found about the ? texture changes its parent from GameTimeFrame to Minimap (because I set the GameTimeFrame alpha to 0, which makes all of its children 0, too). To move the button/? icon, you need to do this:

GameTimeFrame:SetPoint("TOPRIGHT", Minimap, "TOPRIGHT", 0, 0)
Play with the anchors and the x,y offsets (the 0, 0) as needed.

That worked perfectly. I barely had to tweak the offsets for it to be right where I wanted it. Thanks so much for the info

taint issue

first off, sorry for my English >.<

if exit vehicles in combat(like jousting before ToC 5man's 1st boss), Blizzard Actionbars/Unitframes not showing correctly(sometime it disappear, or only shows action buttons 1-6 in Vehicle styled action bar).
tested it with only PocketPlot enabled, so i think this is PocketPlot issue.

* test method: ride Vehicle at Argent Tournament ground and hit dummy then exit vehicle before out of combat. taint log below.

yeh the icons on the map like u got in the preview the "search icon thingy" and when i got mail the mail icon does not show up

Do you have the same behavior when PocketPlot is the only addon enabled? Because it's been working fine for me. Some addons may hide/replace/move those for you.

The little flag that pops up to indicate 5/10/25 man instance does not move with the map if you chose to move the map from its original position.

Correct. This frame is anchored the the MinimapCluster as a whole, and not to the Minimap itself. You can move it by enabling the mover for it in your options.

Seerah, do you not get taint when attempt to click the worldmap button in combat? er not taint but an error about it wanting the Ycenter? and its not just in combat... combat pops somthing else...
