Warmath Adjusted ItemLevel
Version: 20400
by: alcaras [More]
What does this do?
Displays the warmath adjusted itemlevel for items in their tooltips.

Why does the itemlevel need to be adjusted?
Itemlevel just indicates an item's power within its slot and within its rarity. An itemlevel 115 epic is better than an itemlevel 115 blue, because epics are better than blues. But they both share the same itemlevel. This mod shows you an adjusted itemlevel, so you can see a single number that represents itemlevel across all slots and rarities.

Let's see some math!
Uses this formula:
ItemLevel, as read in-game using GetItemInfo, is adjusted like so:

where QualMod (quality modifer) is:

* Green (2): 1.21
* Blue (3): 1.42
* Purple (4): 1.64
* Orange (5): 1.86 (tenative)

QualAdd (quality modifier, additive) is:

* Green: -9.8
* Blue: -4.2
* Purple: +11.2
* Orange: +26.2 (tenative)

SlotMod (slot modifier) is:

* Head - 1.00
* Neck - 0.54
* Shoulder - 0.74
* Back - 0.54
* Chest - 1.00
* Wrist - 0.54
* Hands - 0.74
* Waist - 0.74
* Legs - 1.00
* Feet - 0.74
* Finger - 0.54
* Trinket - 0.68
* Shield - 0.50
* Offhand - 0.50
* Ranged - 0.50
* 1H weap - 0.50
* 2H weap - 1.00

Starting with an itemlevel, we transform to a wai in the following manner:

wai = ((itemlevel * QualityMod) + QualityAdd) * SlotMod

Why is it called Warmath?

I originally the formula when working on a draft of the Warmath DKP system.
http://wiki.subcreation.net/warmath/warmath-adjusted-itemlevel

We ended up not using it in the DKP system, but the formula itself remains useful!
