flagRSP WotLK   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
flagRSP WotLK is an add-on that allows you to set a title, first name, and last name as well as setting a character status and a roleplaying flag. Other users of this add-on or a compatible one (flagRSP2, ImmersionRP, or MyRolePlay) will be able to see these flags and you will be able to see theirs. This is mainly useful for RP servers, but there's nothing preventing you from using this on servers of other types. Feel free to report any bugs or request features here.

flagRSP WotLK (formerly known as flagRSP BC) is the original flagRSP add-on updated and enhanced for the World of Warcraft 3.0 patch. This continued version bases on the work done by Flokru and Adriathys. Since both authors have abandoned the project I picked up the code and fixed some open bugs.

If you do use this add-on, do not use it with flagRSP2, ImmersionRP, or MyRolePlay as they will conflict. Please note that flagRSP WotLK will make changes to your tooltips. This may conflict with other addons that manipulate the tooltip. If this occurs, you can turn tooltip alteration off and won't run into any trouble.

=======================================================
flagRSP WotLK is fully translated to English and German language. Translations for other languages are wanted, so if you like, feel free to send me your own. A French localization which covers about 90 percent is included.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.6 Changes
Typhix: Set the default state for the minimap button to on.
Typhix: Fixed a bug that prevented showing prenames of yourself and known persons in the tooltip if the option hiding names was activated.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.5 Changes
Typhix: Fixed a bug that could crop up while logging into the game.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.4 Changes
Typhix: Fixed two minor bugs that could occur while reading tooltips.
Typhix: Character titles are now displayed in yellow color. The friendlist shows the character names now in a slight different color.
Typhix: Removed flagRSPloader from package. flagRSP WotLK now is no load-on-demand addon anymore.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.3 Changes
Typhix: Fixed a bug that prevented vertical scrolling in flagRSP's friendlist.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.2 Changes
Typhix: After a couple of hours of testing on PTR an error occured while determining the owner of a pet/minion. I don't know exactly what triggered this and was not able to reproduce it a second time. Nevertheless I added an error handling routine for this case. If the owner of a pet/minion cannot be determined, flagRSP now will simply omit the corresponding tooltip line.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.1 Changes
Typhix: Removed unused font from package.
Typhix: Disabled debug mode.
Typhix: flagRSP is a load-on-demand addon again. Version 1.0.0 was only loaded on demand when flagRSPLoader was enabled.

flagRSP WotLK 1.0.0 Changes
Typhix: Blizzard changed numerous native functions with the upcoming WoW 3.0 patch. Several fixes done to keep flagRSP working with Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
Typhix: Removed filter button from friendlist as it had no implemented function yet. (Nevertheless, filtering would be a nice feature. I'll realize this later.)
Typhix: Changed addon name to "flagRSP WotLK".
Typhix: Version number miraculously jumped to 1.0.0. It was time I think.
Typhix: Updated TOC for WoW 3.0.
Typhix: Declared a better dependency to flagRSP loader
Typhix: Tidied up the zip package. There were a whole lot of useless files and folders in it.

I do have chatter, but there's no talking going on in the channel at the time, at least none that I can see.

I occasionally get a message like this in my chat log:

Quote:
[00:31:18][xtensionxtooltip2] Urbane: <dp>dimity
Urbane being another character in the extension chat channel, Dimity being my character's name. It'll pop up randomly just with that line, no other chat or anything. What is it?

ETA it is not always Urbane, it's always a different person's name.

Sorry I was too late to help you in your bug-squashing efforts. But it's also good to know that I wasn't needed for it to be fixed!

I do seem to be having a new problem with 1.06 though. There is no minimap button to bring up the GUI and no command-line option that works either (I used the command-line option with the previous version (or two? they've been updated so quickly...) because there was no minimap button).

Edit: Nevermind, I was able to bring it up using "fl mm an" (a command I wasn't familiar with, usually use the rsp set). It did take a moment or two of digging, but seems to work fine.

Yeah, thanks alot for fixing that (and yes indeed it was a pretty old bug, i remember i reported it several times in the past for the other authors :-) but then stopped using prenames for along time, so never noticed that it was still in, until yet)

Nevertheless, I don't have a clue why your prenames aren't visible. Is it only your own prename that is not shown or don't you see any prenames at all? If you click on a flagged target, do you see the prename in that description window?
Login bug is completely gone, thanks alot

actually they are not shown at all, neither in the tooltip nor in the description window (as long as "hide Names" in the optiosn is active).

but if i add someone to the friendlist, i can see the prenames in the Friendlist, but still not in the tooltip or description.

again, all of the above gets solved if i disable the "Hide Names" option, then any prename is shown

just to make sure that im not mistake with prename i mean the name you can place in front of your "real" character name :-)

Ah, ok, I see it. If you hide other's names, flagRSP won't show you your own prename when hovering your character portrait. I'll have a look at that.

Alchmo, I am currently not able to reproduce your problem. The error you're seeing crops up when flagrsp reads its own settings. These settings should always be accessible - obviously they are not on your installation. Prenames should work as well.

There is something odd with your error message. It says "flagRSP-1.0.4\flagRSP.lua". flagRSP-1.0.4 is not the correct installation folder. All files have to be in a folder called flagrsp. Please make sure that flagRSP is properly installed. The folder structure within the zip file has to stay intact. Futher help
actually the folder structure is intact :-) it is just that BugSack does give you the Addon name (derived from the TOC file) followed by the file instead of the folder and file as teh default Blizz error popup does.
the error messae from the Blizz error shower, is exactly as the one OfferingstoAnubis listed.

tried again with a full new initialization of flagRSP (so to speak removed all old saved variables files and restarted WoW) still the same, pretty strange, thought at first that maybe some tooltip placer addon may be blocking, but don't get any prenames even with the default Blizzard Tooltip (tried with flagRSP2 and they showed up there, just not with flagRSP, but i don't wanna switch :-( )

could it be that there is some setting not written with the latest version (as it no longer uses the Loader) that still gets looked up?

Edit: did abit browsing through the savedvariables files for flagrsp, and it seems to correctly save the prenames (just listed as "name" in the lua files), so by all it should work, sadly it really does not. Okay tried it abit more, and do know now that the prenames are shown when i disable "Hide Names" in the options, if i activate this option (which is the one i like the most regrettably) prenames dont get shown anymore

OfferingstoAnubis, since I am currently not able to reproduce this, could you do me a favour?

Please locate the file flagrsp.toc in your installation folder. Open it with Notepad (or any editor you like) and add the following line directly beneath the last line starting with two hedges (#):

Code:
## LoadOnDemand: 1
Save the file, then restart WoW and login with flagRSPloader activated.

Does this error still appear after that?
