Follow Felankor
A World of Warcraft UI AddOn
By Felankor

NOTE: Your friends, guild, group and raid members DO NOT need this AddOn installed to be able to command you (E.g. to make you follow them). There are however a few features which do require them to have this AddOn installed.

#############################
DESCRIPTION
#############################

Follow Felankor is primarily an Auto Follow AddOn (It allows Friends, Guild, Group and Raid members to make you follow them if for example you go AFK).
It also has many other useful features whether you like to Dual/Multi Box, level/quest with friends, run raids or dungeons or just have fun with your
mates. Please read below for a full list of features.

#############################
FEATURES
#############################

1) Allows friends and group/raid/guild members to make you follow them (With the option to prevent this if you are using the auction house, npc or looting etc).
2) Automatically resumes following the last person you followed after combat ends. Casting a spell will cancel Auto Resume. (Disabled by default)
3) Allows your friends and group/raid/guild members to make you mount and dismount.
4) Auto accepts resurrect from friends and group/raid/guild members.
5) Auto accepts group invites from friends and guild members.
6) Auto invites friends and guild members to your group upon their request through a whisper command. (Don't worry, this can be disabled!)
7) Auto accepts quests and shared quests or escorts. (Disabled by default)
8) Notifies the person you are following and/or your DualBox Master if you have low health. (NOTE: Both players must have Follow Felankor v2.5.0 or higher for this feature to work)
9) Allows your friends and guild members to make your character do emotes (e.g. sit, stand, wave, point, fart etc) (Don't worry, this can be disabled!)
10) Allows you to ban certain players from sending you whisper commands.
11) Option to automatically create a set of macros that send whisper commands to your targeted player.
12) Automatically announces to your group/raid when you go AFK; telling them that they can make you follow them using the !ff_follow whisper command.
13) Tells you when another player starts following you of their own accord. (NOTE: Both players must have Follow Felankor v2.1.0 or higher for this feature to work)
14) Shows you if group/party members are using Follow Felankor by adding an icon on their party portrait.

#############################
USING FOLLOW FELANKOR
#############################

NOTE: There is a full detailed list of slash commands and whisper commands in the READ ME file, or you can use the help commands in game (explained below).

You can type:

/ff_menu to display the Follow Felankor menu. (All interfaces are accessible from this menu)

Or

/ff_help to display the help dialog.

Or

"/ff_help command" for more help with each command. (E.g. /ff_help ff_options to get help for the /ff_options command)

Your friends, guild, group or raid can whisper or tell:

!ff_help for a list of whisper commands that they can use to command you.
!ff_help command (e.g. !ff_help ff_follow) for more help with each command.

Yeah that sounds good, I'll do that thanks.

I have not taken any code from the fan update so any bugs that were fixed in that may or may not be fixed in my version (depending on if I knew about them). I use the addon myself quite often and I haven't seen that happen (or just haven't noticed if it has). Are you able to send me a screenshot of both screens when this happens please? (Either by uploading it to something like image shack or pm me and I'll give you an email address). Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Sorry that I don't upload updates very often. I have recently moved servers and had to start again from scratch. My main is now 72, I'm trying to get 80 asap. Once I've reached 80 I'm hoping to finish working on the next release and then I want to start releasing more regular updates.

Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback.

Maybe I can think about a command which lets you set the name of the toon pulling you (or in your case your heal bot) and allow only that one to command you ungrouped.

It is possible, but it's trying to work out the best way to do it. The idea is you can't accidently dismount while the toon is flying. I had a friend dismount me by mistake and my toon fell and died. I wanted to get it to check how high the toon is flying and only allow dismount if it's a safe distance from the ground. But I couldn't find a command that lets you check. I will look into this but not sure what the best method is yet.

Also, is there any way to allow someone to accept a follow command ungrouped? I tend to run my healbot ungrouped to not cut into my main toon's XP.

Sorry but the AcceptTrade function is protected meaning only Blizzard are able to use it. So I am unable to add this feature. Thank you for your idea though.

Thank you for the ideas.

It should be possible to do that, however I want to try to make it as simple as possible to use. You may find it easy to put the selected mount in a macro, but there are many users that won't know what they are doing.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

/FF_UseGMount mount_name - (Sets which ground mount will be used)
/FF_UseFMount mount_name - (Sets which flying mount will be used)

!ff_rmount - (Uses a random ground mount, even if a static one has been set)
!ff_rfly - (Uses a random flying mount, even if a static one has been set)

The part I was unsure of is if I am able to detect when a mount is summoned in order to automaticaly use the last or most used mount.

The check boxes only disable party and raid announcements. This isn't an issue or an error, I just hadn't designed it to turn off whispers. My thinking was that somebody will only see a whisper message if they whisper a command to you in the first place. In which case they will be expecting the replies. Another reason i didn't put in the option to disable them is because they tell the other player if there was a problem with a command (e.g. !ff_follow - You need to come closer). If they didn't the other player may think that the addon is broken, or disabled.

I'm not sure if I will add this option yet. I need to think about it a bit more, sorry. I would like to hear your opinion on what I have said though.

Is there any chance of adding the option of using a static mount instead of a random one? Like, maybe a way for the program to remember the last mount you manually used and use that one from now on? That would be awesome.
Using a static mount is possible, I would just need to find an easy way of allowing you to select which mount will be used. As for using the last mount that was summoned, I will need to look at the available functions and see if it is possible to find out which was used last. But I will look into this and try to include something in the next update.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the moment I have only just started playing WoW again, and I'm starting fresh on a new server with some friends. I work during the day and in the evening I am trying to level my characters and make some gold etc. My main is only 65 at the moment. So I'm not planning to release an update in the next couple of weeks (unless it's to fix any bugs that may be caused if new patches are released). But once I'm back on my feet in WoW I will work on the addon some more.

Your requests, bug reports and any other feedback is still welcome and appreciated in the meantime.

Thank you,

Felankor

Thank you Glad to be back. That feature is already in there. You can use !ff_fly and !ff_mount. Whispering them while the target is mounted will dismount the target. You can also type /ff_menu then click Create Macros and a macro will be created for each of those commands.

If you click the Help button from /ff_menu or just type /ff_help you will be able to see a list of all whisper commands and slash commands and a description of each.

Hope this helps.
