SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

The SBF 3.2 beta has click-to-remove-buff in it, it just hasn't been merged into the main project yet.

reposting an unanswered frame order question
I am trying to raise the z-order of some basic buff/debuff frames to show over the top of other unit frames I have made but cannot find the slider anywhere in the setup menus.
I followed the guide at your website in setting them up but the z-order sliders do not appear anywhere to change it and force them to draw on top of my other unit frames. Did you remove this functionality? I've tried the 3.1.25 and 3.2.1 versions both to no avail. Am I missing something like another addon that provides these bars? |

Performance Issues
Issue
Firstly, I would like to say that I always keep my addons updated. Secondly, when in combat, my fps drops from 50 --> 15 when I have SBF enabled, along with other addons (mainly Auctioneer, Mapster, and Forte Xorcist). Without SBF enabled and my usual 140 other addons enabled, my fps stays at 50. With SBF enabled but those other listed addons (plus a few others) disabled, I maintain my 50 fps. But when all of those addons are enabled together, my fps drops dramatically. If I have all of my addons disabled except SBF, my fps is totally fine during and out of combat. So it seems like its a compatibility issue. Description http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...2at64805PM.png Pay attention to the bars above my player health frame. I also have bars set up above my target frame that are currently not shown in the picture. Both buff frames have 'whitelist' checked and I set up many filters that would excel in PvP (ie tt~slow, tt~stun, etc.). My Theory My guess is that SBF is having a hard time filtering so many buffs/debuffs that it slows down my fps. Or the other mods use some type of old code that horrendously collaborate with the SBF code. I am not a programmer, so I am just spouting out stuff. Just trying to help. My Attempts to Fix the Issue I have tried setting the /sbf throttle to 0.5, 0.7, and even 1. I have tried /sbf fix. I reinstalled WoW and did NOT copy over my old WTF folder. I redid my whole entire UI from scratch. I tried out the new SBF beta (deleted my previous .lua files before using the new beta). My System I am not sure if this will help at all but its worth a shot. I am currently running on a Macbook Pro. Mac OS 10.6.5. 8GB Ram. 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT. Gratitude I do not mean to overwhelm you at all, I just wanted to let you know of this possible bug (could be my fault? who knows). I tried to provide you with as much info as possible. Anyway, I LOVE your addon. Thanks so much for spending time on such a lovely product. Keep it up! The WoW community and I really appreciate it.

z-order: Yeah, I had that slider in a while back (it's still there, just hidden) but it didn't work for crap in WoW 3.x. I just need to take the time to take advantage of the new ordering stuff available in WoW 4.0.
performance: Thanks for the feedback! SBF has a *lot* of code, absolutely. Not all of it gets used all the time (for example, frame layouts only happen at login/reloadui) and the stuff that updates buffs is a section of code that I am always trying to streamline for efficiency. I will definitely do some new profiling on that section since a reasonable amount of change has happened to get SBF working with WoW 4.0, so something may have crept in that is causing that. Will check into it for sure! count filter: Often requested, so I will add it in the next update (If I didn't reply directly to your comment, I did definitely read it!) |

SBF and Button Facade.
Not sure if this is a SBF problem, or a BF problem, or both.
I can't get ButtonFacade to work right with SBF. I go into the BF panel in the Interface options, and I can select my NotCaith setup, but it applies it to ALL slots in my buff bar, even if they are empty, and for buffs that are currently active, it appears that the Blizzard skin is sitting on top. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's an issue going on or what. Thanks. ^^ |

Performance Issues (UPDATED)
I have been playing around with SBF, and I noticed that if I take all filters out, while keeping my same layout, I maintain my 50 fps. I can have as many buff frames as I want but I have to take out all of my filters.
It seems like adding MANY filters (I have around 60 whitelisted filters using n, tt, and d<or> and using '&' conditionals) drops my fps to 15. Maybe there is a bug in the tt,n, etc. codes? Maybe in the whitelist code? As always, you are the best! |

Re: Performance Issues (UPDATED)
Drop it and see for your performance. Use other means to watch for expiring buffs (OmniCC finishing effects, for example). |

d/D filters (recalculated every time your buffs are updated, like most other filters) are not nearly as bad as r/R filters (recalculated every second). tt filters can also be fairly intensive since they have to scan the tooltip text on every buff.
(A section on the relative costs of various filters sounds like a great thing for the SBF website)
