GearScoreLite  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3x04
by: Mirrikat45 [More]

GearScore™ Lite is currently discontinued.

GeaerScore™/PlayerScore™ 4.5.00+ Has the option to run the addon in "Lite Mode" or in "Full Mode"!

3x04: Fixed a bug with GS above 6000. GearScore will now be reduced on enchant-able items missing enchantments. Because this is the lite version it cant determine if the enchantment is useful or not, only rather or not it exists. And remember, the game API always returns empty gems from the server so I cant detect empty gems in the lite version.

303: Fixed a bug where you couldn't use "/gs" because I had a lowercase 'y' instead of a "Y".
302: Fixed a bug when clicking on itemlinks/playerlinks in chat log.

Charming. Gotta love random hostility .

And...so? Maybe look at the comments just a bit before posting something identical and saying "I got a fix"? I was making it clearer that this had been posted before.

I also gave credit to the Curse comments (poster) which originally brought up this GS>6000 copy-from-original-GearScore "fix".

I sent him a PM asking if I could upload the fixed file here so we can stop the random bickering about a fix that everyone knows already. Hopefully either he'll update or turn over control of the addon.

How much exactly does the gs get nerfed if they dont have enchanted items?

The above error happens whenever i mouseover my bags, but ONLY happens if i am running Gear Score and Gear Score Lite at the same time.

Obviously i dont normally run both together (was just testing GS Lite, but logged on an alt and had both GS and GSL turned on same time).

It seems like when running both mods, they somehow clash with Outfitter and TipTac. But when running GS or GSL one at a time, everything is fine (they play nice with TipTac and Outfitter if you run just GS or GSL).

********************************************************

Is there a reason you can not see your own GS using GSL when mousing over yourself?

it seems mouseover doesn't work very well... whereas a fix has been posted by kof9x (03-06-2010)

replace (line 145)
Code:
	local Name = GameTooltip:GetUnit();local MouseOverGearScore, MouseOverAverage = 0,0
	if ( CanInspect("mouseover") ) and ( UnitName("mouseover") == Name ) and not ( GS_PlayerIsInCombat ) then
		NotifyInspect("mouseover"); MouseOverGearScore, MouseOverAverage = GearScore_GetScore(Name, "mouseover");
by
Code:
	local Name, Unit = GameTooltip:GetUnit();local MouseOverGearScore, MouseOverAverage = 0,0
	if (Unit == nil) then return; end
	if ( CanInspect( Unit ) ) and ( UnitName( Unit ) == Name ) and not ( GS_PlayerIsInCombat ) then
		NotifyInspect( Unit ); MouseOverGearScore, MouseOverAverage = GearScore_GetScore(Name, Unit);

There should be no reason to run both at the same time.

I completely agree with you, and this was done as stated below, on accident.

The main reason i was making you (and others) aware of this bug is because it has the potential to crash your computer. It crashed my PC twice and i have an amazing system.

Only 2 other things have ever crashed this PC, and both of those are known bugs related to Star Craft 2 beta (one has been fixed, was a Win7 issue, the other involves the SC2 map editor, also a known bug).

I can fly around Dalaran with 90 FPS on a high pop server prime time, no lag at all. But when running these 2 addons together, then mousing over my bag, it brought my game (and my system) to a dead halt. After crashing my PC 2 times over this, i obviously had to take the time to figure out what happened.

So while i agree that there is no reason to run both of these addons at the same time, players do need to know how harmful it can be to your computer, if you do run them together.

Oh, I assure you it caused me to DC, the problem is they both refrence the same functions and hooks so they get infinite loops. I will rename the functions in GSLite tp je;[ sp;ve tjos [rpb;e,/

The simplest way is to open up GearScoreLite.lua and look for the function GearScore_HookSetUnit. This does the mouseover queries.

You can either comment out all the lines of the function (use '--' at the beginning of each line) or add a return statement at the top of the function.

You will still get you score in the Character pane.
