The idea to seperate them is due to not everyones interest in having the same modules as the next player. Some like all three (lag, mem, fps), some like two, some like one, some like none. (gee...sounds like a Dr. Seuss book, heh).
The other bonus to this is the modules not containing any embedded libs other than what's specifically required for that module. Everything else is preloaded by the Core. I can understand the minor annoyance (I promise, it's impossible to seperate them any more than they already are :P). The initial concept was FuBar-esque to start with, just to remove the dependency of the top/bottom of the screen & using plug-in "bars". It's not just for the sake of these modules either. Soon they'll be a SLMiniMap module, as well as a few others in the future  |

I don't think the grouping is too bad, it's no different than the fubar plugins in my opinion.
