Tidy Plates: Link Theme

Version: 5.0.1
by: danltiger [More]

This is a theme package for Tidy Plates. It transforms your unit nameplates into a row of hearts (Zeldaish!).

(Note: This page used to support Tidy Plates: Heart Theme, but a newer version can be found, here. I decided to recycle this page, since I can't seem to delete my unneeded ones)

Installation:

Unzip into your Addons folder, and it will override Tidy Plate's default theme. To enable the threat glow, make sure you go into your Interface panel, and select: Display > Display Aggro Warning > Always

1.2: Plates are smaller; 55% of the original size.

I haven't forgotten about you guys! Just been updating my other projects.

I tested the filigree idea, and the extra hearts, and (to me) it looks VERY busy. My feeling is that I should leave this particular theme as-is, and work on a new one, that incorporates the level/etc. from the start. Perhaps a multi-heart bar, ala Zelda?

I'll post a link to it if/when it's ready.

nice stuff!

Nice skin! Works great for me.

Did this work for you Bhal? I was making the mistake of sticking it in the TidyPlates folder instead of the root addon folder ... even though on the main page it does correctly say addons folder. oops!

Hey Bhal - I'd updated this (and Tidy Plates). I'm hoping that your problem is now solved; I made sure the event handler was triggering the module discovery AFTER all the variables were loaded.

Oops, sorry for the breakage.. It's updated, now, and should work. I'd gone back and forth with the names, but I've left them out on this release, because, well... I like 'em that way. It's easy to change; Just pop open 'theme.lua' and change "showName = false" to "true".

Is there any way to hide the level numbers if the target is a skull and just have the skull showing?

Yep, there is; But, it's not obvious. You can use the "Special Text" feature to show the unit.level (while hiding the standard level text) depending on the status of unit.isDangerous ("Danger" skull, displayed). You'd have to do your own coloring, too.

I'll try to put up the necessary changes, or at least some hints, when I get some additional free time.
