ShardAce WoTLK  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.05
by: Valéry [More]

This is an UNOFFICIAL 3.0.8 compatible "remix" of the last release of Demon Daemon by Norque, with code adapted from the last release of his pre-WoTLK ShardAce.

In order to differentiate it from Norque's official Demon Daemon project, I have readopted a variation of the ShardAce name. The project will be taken down if Norque should contact me.

For the official project go here:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10421-DemonDaemon.html

(As others have done, I have tried to contact Norque via WoW interface but as yet no response and the 3.0.8 break of the last official release has prompted me to bring forward the release.)

*** This release reintroduces shard sorting/destruction. I have also taken this opportunity to extend this functionality to allow users to specify a secondary (i.e. overflow) shard bag. ***

(Please note, that I have only recently begun to script in LUA. I would be grateful for any bug reports!)

1.05

Announcements functionality has now been added.

1.04

Profiles now fully supported.

Option to play sound upon soulstone timer expiry.

Position by "curosr" bug fixed.

1.03

Fly-out menu buttons now hide only on left click.

Spell- and fire-stones may now be applied by left click on their respective buttons.

"Miscellaneous" options tab now added to configuration screen. First option is to toggle show/hide of tool-tips.

1.02

Fixed bug where two clicks were required to re-open the buttons fly-out menu after previously closing it with left click on one of its buttons.

1.01
Fixed TOC.

Yes, I've also got the shard destruction working now - seems it only works if you also check the shard sorting, as if it's dependent on it.

Other request still stands. I'd really be happy if the main buttons can hold other spells, so that I can get rid of unused spells and also have the cd on spells like DG show up. ^^

First of all, I really like this addon, thank you. Since I started using it I could clear up half of my hotbars, and many of the nifty features are nice boons (such as the cd display and ready-to-use warning of my SS).

There's one thing that doesn't really work as it should, though, and I'm not sure if that's because I'm doing something wrong or because it might be slightly bugged.. I use a 28-slot shard bag, and don't like having additional shards spill over in my other bags. I thought I'd set the maximum shard amount of the addon at 28 and check the Shard Destruction box to get rid of this nuisance, but it doesn't auto-delete any additional shards I create. Rechecking the box, deleting all saved variables files, even reinstalling the mod didn't work.. how do I get this to work?

Also, there's something I'd like to suggest - if it could be somehow implemented then I'd really appreciate it. Currently I still keep the DoomGuard and Infernal icons on the hotbar, because they show me the cd on both spells. Is it possible to somehow get a cd timer on these to show? Actually, the same would go for the Ritual of Souls spell with its 5-minute cd..

I realise that it might be difficult to get a cd to show in the heap of buttons that appear when you right-click the leftmost button, so I started thinking.. maybe it's an idea to make the original row customisable? For instance, as an Afflock I never use a Firestone - if I were able to display the DG spell in its place, then I bet it could show me its cd at the same time as getting rid of a button that I never use anyway. Two birds with one stone, so to say. Would that be an idea?

I have 2 requests.

1) display a cooldown timer on the healthstone after its been consumed. if the fight allows I like make new ones between phases.
if we are only allowed to use one healthstone per fight like with potions then disregard this request

2) allow us to bind use healthstone. I know I can do this with a macro and hide it with bartender or whatever but would nice to have it within the addon.

I dont get why you people insist on hide from other classes? just disable it from char screen..

thanks for latest update.
this addon is pretty much complete as far as what I want from it. I just wish it was easier to position the buttons but that's a minor thing

Now let me also suggest that if you implement command line stuff that you DO NOT use "/sa" as per the original. It seems that "Sunn - Viewport Art" is using that same "/sa" command.

Anywho, hope that helps.

Cheers

New version 1.05 uploaded today

Version 1.05 has been uploaded.

Thank you for your patience.

This introduces functionality for customizable announcements regarding application of soulstone, ritual of souls portal, ritual of summoning portal and ritual of doom. See the new "Messages" options tab.

There is also an option under Miscellaneous for the announcements to go to /say instead of party/raid chat.

I added a function

Hello, I have figured out a nightfall/backlash proc function
here it goes:
add this with the other register event code around line 833
Code:
	self:RegisterEvent("COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED")
add this function anywhere really, but i put it near the soulstone cooldown announce around line 938

Code:
function shardacewotlk:COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED(...)
local type, sourceGUID, sourceName, sourceFlags, destGUID, destName, destFlags, spellId, spellName, spellSchool, auraType = select(3, ...)
--	print(event, timestamp, type, sourceGUID, sourceName, sourceFlags, destGUID, destName, destFlags, spellId, spellName, spellSchool, auraType)
	if type == "SPELL_AURA_APPLIED" then
		if destName == UnitName("player") then
if spellName == "Backlash" or spellName == "Nightfall" then
				if self:getSoundState() then
					PlaySoundFile("Interface\\AddOns\\ShardAceWoTLK\\ShadowTrance.mp3")
				end
				DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("|cffffff00** Backlash! **|r")
				UIErrorsFrame:AddMessage("** Backlash! **", 0.92, 0.75, 0.05, 1.0, 12)
			end
		end
	end
end
This code does work, but it may be ineffient or dirty. Ill try messing with it more to get it to look more like the UNIT_SPELL_CAST funciont above where my funciton goes.

P.S. - you are going to have to put the old shadowtrance soundfile from shardace into the root directory of shardacewotlk

For personal and professional reasons, I've not had much time to devote to developing this add-on over the last few weeks. These are all things that I intend to bring back to into the add-on with the next release, which I've now started to work on.
