ArkInventory (AI or ARKINV) is an inventory mod that was based off EngInventory when the BtS 2.0.0 patch came out and I needed a working replacement.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.


You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.


Overview:

* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing


Key Bindings:

Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

  • fixed - https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/1871 - updated object code to handle any new INVTYPE values better

known issues
  • some default frames (vendor/merchant at minimum) that would normally open via the PlayerInteractionFrameManager no longer open if you are in combat, you just get an addon error. there is currently no workaround.
  • (dragonflight) reagentbank slots are no longer readable unless the bank is open
  • recipes on vendors are showing item counts for the items they create, not the recipe
  • Enum.ItemConsumableSubclass is missing the Flask entry and everything after has moved down a value which screws up the category names (have hardcoded a workaround for the moment)
  • items with an active cooldown dont allow comparison tooltips to generate
  • cooldowns no longer start automatically. you can close/open the bag to get them to show (if you enable that option). all of the cooldown events ACTIONBAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, BAG_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, PET_BAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, SPELL_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, appear to trigger off other players as well, but do not provide any indication whether the event was triggered by you or them, so cooldowns will trigger window refreshes fairly constantly when you are around large numbers of players. even limiting it to one update per second generated too much lag, especially in massive groups.
  • chat link for a battlepet in the guild bank will not send
  • the first time you click on a hyperlink in chat it wont show the item counts

to do
  • double check all categories show/hide for the right clients
  • confirm things havent broken in classic, wrath, or shadowlands
  • restack disable - maybe change this to require a modifier key instead of a straight disable? might be easier to shift/alt/ctrl click on it than turning it on/off and its not like youll accidentally do it (which is why the disable was added)
  • backpack tokens to scroll when max width reached on second line
  • extend the categoryset actions to individual items for additional granular control.
  • add action; move (bank to bag, bag to bank, bag to vault, vault to bag)
  • add actions to items
  • allow multiple actions on a category / item

I really enjoy this mod but I'm having a problem where items don't update when I loot or sell them. I have to enable/disable the mod to get it to update. It's really annoying and I can't really use the mod having to do that every time I vendor something or receive an item.

Is there a way you can turn off this automatic updating. it really slows things down especial at a bank or vendor. I think it would be better for the bags to updat e when you open or close them or by adding a reload bag option.

With patch 2.06 i get huge memory usages and fps drops when selling items with Arkinventory windos open.

Organisation

Is there any way for the bank to be separated differently to the backpack? Only because I would like to organise my bank differently to how my bags are organised, as I don't store things like consumables, pots and hearthstones in my bank. Is it too hard for this functionality to be implemented?

Ace and AI

I had a problem where AI would wipe clear my ace addons, for no reason. It was either because your ace files were outdated, or because I got duplicate Ace.
If you encounter this problem, simply delete the ace files in the .zip.

Also; how do I create a custom category?

Great Mod

Ark,
I've tried many mods like this and they never seem to work right, good job on getting the job done. This is now my default bag mod, thanks.

Some suggestions for improvement:
1. Add headers for the bars as mentioned below (this can be an option).
2. I would like the bag to adjust the left and top sides of the frame when automatically resizing, instead of the bottom and right sides like it is now. That way the bottom right corner of the frame will always stay where placed.
3. Looking forward to inventory / bank seperation.

Question:
Can I edit the .lua file to make ALL recipes fall under the catagory "recipe"? I do not like having them go to the associated tradeskill and reassigning them one by one is slightly painful (I guess eventually they will all be manually reassigned, but geesh). I did see the code assigning them to the individual tradeskills, can I just comment out that block?

I found that its ShardACE's new shardsort function which causes lag and performance loss in conjunction with arkinventory. Disabling the shardsort function solves the problem.

anyone else experiencing this?

when i go to the bank or vendor or even the mailbox when it opens my inventory i sometimes cannot click on anything in my inventory, instead it seems to register clicking on a nearby mob or person. I have to get right up against a wall for this to not happen and pray that no one runs over to me and stands on me.

I downloaded the newest one from wowace dated 1-28-2007, but the problem still exists. You said you thought you fixed it, so before you made a new release on wowinterface, I though I'd let you know Thanks for the awesome mod....I LOVE IT!!!!!

selection problem

same problem here, sometimes I cant select any item anymore, even if they are still here with correct tooltip.

a "/console reloadui" fix the problem.

Edit: I figured out how to hide empty shard slots! Nevermind!

Could you add a shard counter on the bottom of the bag menu instead of slots left? It shows on the bag icon, but even so, you may have more than just in that bag.

That's what I was coming to ask. My bank is usually organized completely different than my bags. Any chance they could be seperated? Excellent mod. Incredibly helpful, thanks!
