Critabear

Version: 1.2
by: Conj [More]

This mod is currently completely useless.
Thanks a lot Survival of the Fittest!

How to Use:
It's very simple. Use either of these commands:
/critabear
/crit

The mod will then check your resilience, defense, and how many points you have spent in the feral talent "Survival of the Fittest" to determine whether or not you can be crit by Burning Crusade raid bosses (level 73 mobs and below.)

Motivation Behind the Mod:
I used to have a macro that ran a script to check for critability, but I started to run out of room in my macro tabs. This mod will both free up macro space and it will also be much more expandable in terms of features.

This is my first (working) mod and it's in a very simple state. I wanted this project to be as simple as possible to start with, but I also wanted it to be useful. Now that I know how easy it is to script mods, I'm getting all kinds of ideas of how to improve Critabear! (Name change might be in order...)

Possible Future Plans:
  • Update for level 80. Incomplete.
  • Work out the math to determine defense/resilience deficit or abundance. Incomplete.
  • I hope to expand it to include detection for paladins and warrior tanks also. Incomplete.
  • Get variables declared NON-globaly. Whoops! Done.
  • Cleaning up, re-organizing code, and double checking math. Done.
  • Other possible improvements may include a hit-cap check.
  • Possible GUI work if I expand the features and control.

1.2
Made functions local.

1.1
Cleaned up variables.
Restructured code to be more expandable and friendly.
Added ability to handle paladin and warrior tanks (will fully implement soon!)

Thanks! I haven't been playing my druid for Wotlk so I kind of put this on pause. I didn't realize there was any demand for it.

To be honest though, from what I know, it seems like this mod isn't really needed anymore. Druids can reach crit immunity with talents alone in Wotlk. Def/Resil for PvE aren't needed. Stam, Agi, Hit, Expertise, etc seem to be the new tanking stats.

Is there some other simple check that would still be useful to you?

Still learning, so thank you for the feedback!
I'll make sure to get the variables declared locally ASAP.
