Follow Felankor
A World of Warcraft UI AddOn
By Felankor
NOTE: Your friends, guild, group and raid members DO NOT need this AddOn installed to be able to command you (E.g. to make you follow them). There are however a few features which do require them to have this AddOn installed.
#############################
DESCRIPTION
#############################
Follow Felankor is primarily an Auto Follow AddOn (It allows Friends, Guild, Group and Raid members to make you follow them if for example you go AFK).
It also has many other useful features whether you like to Dual/Multi Box, level/quest with friends, run raids or dungeons or just have fun with your
mates. Please read below for a full list of features.
#############################
FEATURES
#############################
1) Allows friends and group/raid/guild members to make you follow them (With the option to prevent this if you are using the auction house, npc or looting etc).
2) Automatically resumes following the last person you followed after combat ends. Casting a spell will cancel Auto Resume. (Disabled by default)
3) Allows your friends and group/raid/guild members to make you mount and dismount.
4) Auto accepts resurrect from friends and group/raid/guild members.
5) Auto accepts group invites from friends and guild members.
6) Auto invites friends and guild members to your group upon their request through a whisper command. (Don't worry, this can be disabled!)
7) Auto accepts quests and shared quests or escorts. (Disabled by default)
8) Notifies the person you are following and/or your DualBox Master if you have low health. (NOTE: Both players must have Follow Felankor v2.5.0 or higher for this feature to work)
9) Allows your friends and guild members to make your character do emotes (e.g. sit, stand, wave, point, fart etc) (Don't worry, this can be disabled!)
10) Allows you to ban certain players from sending you whisper commands.
11) Option to automatically create a set of macros that send whisper commands to your targeted player.
12) Automatically announces to your group/raid when you go AFK; telling them that they can make you follow them using the !ff_follow whisper command.
13) Tells you when another player starts following you of their own accord. (NOTE: Both players must have Follow Felankor v2.1.0 or higher for this feature to work)
14) Shows you if group/party members are using Follow Felankor by adding an icon on their party portrait.
#############################
USING FOLLOW FELANKOR
#############################
NOTE: There is a full detailed list of slash commands and whisper commands in the READ ME file, or you can use the help commands in game (explained below).
You can type:
/ff_menu to display the Follow Felankor menu. (All interfaces are accessible from this menu)
Or
/ff_help to display the help dialog.
Or
"/ff_help command" for more help with each command. (E.g. /ff_help ff_options to get help for the /ff_options command)
Your friends, guild, group or raid can whisper or tell:
!ff_help for a list of whisper commands that they can use to command you.
!ff_help command (e.g. !ff_help ff_follow) for more help with each command.

Re: feature suggestion
So in short, yes this can be and will be done, but I need to make the other changes first. Thanks for your feedback.

feature suggestion
Hello again!
I found an AddOn that has similar function to FollowFelankor: UberAddOn. It has one feature that looks interesting. Here is the description of that feature:
I like it; what do you think? Thank you. |

I understand what is supposed to happen; just as I asked for and you thoughtfully & kindly added. I don't know what was the problem, but when we first tried it the other day with two of us running 2.10, we could not see the announcement.
We played again tonight, with different characters, and it worked perfectly! I don't know what was different other than the characters. It was level 80 Rogue (me) and level 80 Warrior when it (supposedly) didn't work. Tonight when it was working, level 65 Mage (me) and Paladin. Maybe I was tired (I was fighting a cold in the head) and missed something. Anyway, thank you very much. |

The new feature is only fired when a player puts him/her self on follow. I.e. if player B right clicks player A's portrait and clicks "Follow", player A ONLY will see a notice in chat saying "[FF] PlayerB is following you.". Player B will NOT see the message. This will only work if both player A and player B have FF v2.1.0. (NOTE: You DONT have to use the Follow button on the portrait menu. Any method of starting auto follow EXCEPT for the !ff_follow and !ff_f commands should trigger the notice. I was just giving an example.) I hope this makes sense. If you are still unable to see the message please let me know and I will look into it. Thank you. Felankor |

Thank you for the update.
Using this update, v2.1.0 30300, we are not seeing the notification when one of us starts to follow the other. I don't see a FF menu selection or command for that, so can I assume we just use the Blizzard "Follow" command? Is the notice supposed to be in a Whisper? If I missed something obvious, I will apologize. Thank you. |

RE: FF over FollowMe
2) FollowMe only has one use: following someone or making someone follow, whereas FF has more that it can do. The same friends that like to follow the leader (me in this case) also like that I can invite them when we are scheduled to play and they don't have to click on the accept button. Not a big deal, you would think, but I guess it works for them! I gotta say though, that I have thought more than a few times about going back to FollowMe just to get that one feature back! Thank you.

Thank you
for the update. I have been using ff for quite a while.
One thing I wish it did that FollowMe has an option to do was to announce that someone had started following me. FF announces if I make someone follow me, but not the other way around. As I am often waiting to proceed to the next destination until those that I know want to follow me have done so, I knew immediately when that happened with FollowMe but with FF I have to ask or otherwise confirm it. If FF already has such an option, I'm sorry but I missed it. Thank you!

In other words, I was really tired when I posted last night and shouldn't have been operating any kind of machinery :P |
