Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.

Spell Reflect

The spell reflect event prints out %a instead of the actual value. Looking in my combat log I don't see any entry there for spell reflect. But the usual damage event prints out the dmg spell reflect does, just the spell reflect event doesn't

Sorry I've been busy pushing in the arena so I hadn't gotten around to checking until tonight...
You are correct Miklord, seems that when I thought I was successful I was seeing myself drink and not another unit.


Unfortunately I'd like to tap into your resources once more:-) *Who wouldn't want to get the most out of such a great mod*

Now I'm having a little issues another set of triggers that I'm trying to setup:
Actually 2 sets...

1 set of triggers is the following:
REFRESH TOTEM: Grounding / Tremor / Poison Cleansing / Windfury
I am able to get the Trigger to work when the Totem expires by itself with the following parameters:
Unit Death
- recipient name - is like - poison cleansing totem -
- recipient unit reaction - is equal to - friendly -
But it isn't working when the totem is clipped by another player or when Grounding is absorbed or Tremor is absorbed


Any ideas? I couldn't get it working with Unit Destroy either

I'm trying to set up a trigger to fire when I am targeted with a polymorph spell.

Main Event - Cast Start
Conditions:
Skill Name - Is Equal To - Polymorph
Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - You
Source Unit Reaction- Is Equal To - Hostile

This trigger never seems to go off, I have tried switching the Recipient and Source and other tweaks but it only seems to fire if I only have the Skill Name condition in there and nothing else.

Is it just not possible to determine the target of a spell cast at the time of the initial cast? So the source and recipient totally might not work the way I am trying to make them work. Thanks for any insight!

WOW's XP Message Still Showing

I have a problem with WOW's Experience message still showing up after installing MSBT. I imagine it may be a conflict with another addon anyone else run into this?

I was interested in setting up the same trigger but unfortunately it is a limitation in the game that cast start events are not storing recipient information for MSBT to parse.

The readme has a list under the trigger system section for 5.13. For the beta version, I haven't finished the documentation yet. For now, the available trigger codes in the beta version are:

%r - name of the recipient unit
%n - name of the source unit
%s - skill name
%a - amount


StrikeQ:

If you look at the combat log, the spell reflect event does not contain an amount. It only says something like You reflect SomeGuy's Skill. That is why you can't see an amount on the reflect.

The next damage event you are seeing is because I added some logic to look specifically for somebody hitting themselves with the same spell you reflected within a very short period of time.


Ced-G60:

You can turn off "Power Gains" under Events->Notification


Dilafin:

Remember that there must be a combat log event to detect an event. When a buff/debuff already exists on a unit that does not stack, a refresh of it doesn't generate an event. If there is no event, mods won't know about it.

That said, in the case of a totem, I think you can probably trigger on a "Cast Success" and see when it was cast, because I think the game does report that even if a totem i already up.

I'll have to look into your other question because I've never really looked at the events for that. I am pretty sure grounding totems don't "die" when they absorb a fear rather they just trigger an internal cooldown.

Liolin already answered you, but he is correct. The game does not provide recipient information for "Cast Start" events. I'll be removing the ability to select those fields on a cast start before the beta version goes live.


Seamusmc:

The game does not provide any way to turn off the built in XP gains. That is why the "Experience Gains" event in MSBT is disabled by default.

I'm able to get it to trigger when the totem itself expires, but I am not able to get it to trigger when a unit kills the totem.

Here is the combat log reading for when it expires on it's own:
Windfury Totem died.
Tremor Totem died.
Here is a combat log reading for when it is killed by a player:
Dilafin has slain Tremor Totem!
Dilafin has slain Windfury Totem!


Here are the Main Events for the Trigger:
Unit Death 2 Conditions -
Recipient Unit Name - Is Equal To - Windfury Totem
Recipient Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Friendly
[This one DOES work but not entirely]

I've tried:
Unit Destroy 2 Conditions -
Recipient Unit Name - Is Equal To - Windfury Totem
Recipient Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Friendly
[This one does not work]


My problem is, why is the trigger not setting off when it's killed by a unit... At the moment it's only setting off when it expires [Windfury Totem died.]

Any thoughts?



[Edit - I change Recipient Unit Reaction to Hostile for testing purposes obviously, so when I say it doesn't Trigger when "Diliafin has slain Tremor Totem" I do have the correct Reaction in there... Ultimately I want this trigger to work for my party Shaman when their own totems are clipped in PvP]

Hi!
Is it possible to enable icons only for specific events or triggers? For example I don't want icons for my buff gains only for a trinket's buff for which I've set up a trigger.

Cooldown text color

For the life of me I cant figure out how to change the color of the text for the cooldowns.

The "%e" portion always results in showing the skill name in red.

Anything else I put around the %e, such as [ %e ] or -= %e =- can be controlled via the color chooser.

Any tips?

I recently switched to MSBT from Parrot and I was wondering if there's any way to configure Overhealing, besides color?
I know it's a small thing to ask for, but I'd really like to be able to see overhealing like this: "{Amount overhealed}". Right now it's showing "<Amount overhealed>" which I'm not really down with tbh.
