Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Hi, first time user here.
Whenever I try to enable player buff icons, WOW crashes.

A few posts down you say that it might be a lowend system that can't handle it.
Would like to know what min. specs should be used to run these unitframes.
Currently I have a 3GHz Dualcore with 4GB Ram and a GF8800.

hello again.

can you help me set the player conditional for afk. i have been trying to set this with a text pattern for my player text7. i failed of course. also trying to set the conditional like default player text6 for afk to be like ghost conditional to go grey as well.

edit...

still trying with using the tag editor help but still failing lol.

one thing i do not see listed in the editor help is level texts like + elite, R rare, or R+ rare elite. this i can do without in the long run but the above afk tagis tearing at my OCDs to try and get done right.

I recently spent some time putting together a ui that I quite like, only to come across this odd problem.
When I try to select one of my party members, only clicking on the left side of their frame (including the portrait) actually selects them. Clicking anywhere else on the rather sizable frame doesn't do anything, it behaves as though I'm clicking right through them. Likewise with the party pets, there's just a thin line across the top where if I click on it, it'll actually target the pet. As you can imagine, this is really irritating, and I can't really think of what the problem is.
I've outlined the areas where clicking works in red in this screenshot, you can intuit where it doesn't work.
If anyone has some advice, I would absolutely love to hear it.

Edit: I messed with the base frame size of the party and pet frames and kind of finagled it into working before I realized I have the same problem with my target, focus and focus target frames, and when I try to adjust the size of the base frames there, it doesn't seem to help. Same question applies, I guess.

2) I have ButtonFacade loaded up for Stuf's buffs and debuffs. I have the gloss set to 0% and yet the buffs/debuffs constantly appear with a 100% gloss over them. This happens when I log in or reload the UI. The BF slider says 0% and yet that's not the case. How can I fix this?...
1. Since I'm making many changes for 3.3, I'll add this to the list.

2. I fixed this while on 3.3 PTR, and I probably will not release a new version until 3.3 goes live.

Hello Totalpackage. Wonderful thing you've got going here with Stuf.

I've noticed a few things that I can't figure out how to fix and am wondering if anyone knows how to fix them.

1) When flagged for PvP, the faction emblem appears. A cooldown timer is also present to count down from 5 minutes. The font face I'm using is a pixel font. I have no ability to change the font's size though, and as such the font is several sizes too large. I can't find a configuration option in-game. How can I resize this font?

I have a big bug with STUF.

First of all, I reinstalled WoW completely. The only addon I had was STUF.

When I go into STUF options, Player options, and I deactivate the player portrait, the texts, the group number, ..., and I go to the buff options, WoW freezes and I have to kill the process.

When I do this, the bug happens everytime. But it happens sometimes when I simply configure other options, not necessarily when I go to the buff options.

Does anyone else encountered this problem ? Is it a known problem ?

I use French client for info.

It's very possible, and very easy. Simply type in the pixel value into each field.

OK, you know more than I do, so you're right, and I beg you pardon. Let's stop this argument . Could you help me on setting this code please? I just want to make the unit's name to hide if it's casting something.

Thanks.

But anyways, thanks for nothing.
