SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules

First - thanks for a fabulous set of frames and all your hard work, Shadowed!

Second, how can I add ShortRace and ShortClass to the text tags? Dogtag let me do this in PitBull 3. It produces a two letter abbreviation for each class. Like so:

Draenei Priest -> Dr Pr
Night Elf Rogue -> NE Ro

Is there someway to replicate this in the tags page? Thanks in advance for your advice!

(sorry if this has been asked - I wish there was a way to search these comments.)

Another bug:

While in WSG just a moment ago I died, and when I resurrected my name was gone from the raidframe, instead it was left blank until I died again:

Atane: Aura examples is something I want to add, just not a high priority.
waha: Replicate-able? I'm not as worried if it's at least updating the color just not the tag text but I'll see if I can think up a reason why.

Triggered another bug in the vehicle handling code for raidframes today in ToC HC, one party member got up on the horse and the raidframe didn't update the HP, but did update color to mark it as a vehicle:

Lovely frames, got one problem which is another addon and a suggestion, whenever i want to set up my frames again i gotta go to the dummies and start attacking them to get debuffs and to be able to set them up. Id like a more advanced config/test mode and i would gladly help test betas with those changes.

TYVM for the reply.

No vehicle fights. Did CoS heroic & UK heroic yesterday with the same group; the hunter pet vanished sometime after starting UK.

Tested with a warlock imp & DK with ghoul pet party members (both in CoS again) today. The imp showed up fine in the party pet frame, the DK ghoul never did. I know 100% (via an old boss screenshot) that DK ghouls used to show up in the X-Perl party pet frames.

I don't really have enough to push a new version, but the class coloring bug is fixed in http://github.com/Shadowed/ShadowedU...es/tree/master

Zidomo: I'll look into why it's only the pets bugging out, but it shouldn't be due to pets being dismissed, by any chance are you doing a vehicle fight maybe and then it starts to bug out? I'll toss some debug code into the next push to see if I can narrow down why it happens though.

Heh...gotta love these "circa-2003 WoW beta" testers . It was X-Perl pre-WoW 3.2.0. Although its been a week+ since last used it, memory might be dim here. I have single-target healed shamen elementals via X-Perl before, though, no question; have the backed-up Recount logs.

Regardless, whether or not that issue is an issue, the problem with hunter party pets is there (have yet to test DK ghouls).

Which UFs displayed the Earth Elemental? In ingame-terms, the earth elemental is not a pet of the shaman, but of the shaman's totem. Even the shaman himself doesn't get a pet frame for it, not with the blizzard standard frames, and definitely not with any other unit frame I used since WoW open beta.

Big issue with party pets have experienced with r20090809 (that may or may not be related to earlier posts about pets). They "disappear" completely out of the UI randomly, never to return.

Unlike other parts of the mod, I have not modified the party pet frames at all from the default settings, other than to have them turned on/checkmarked. First noticed the problem day I installed r20090809 (when it was released). In a 5 man instance party (level 80) with a party member who was a Shaman. Shaman pulls out an earth elemental (Wowhead is down) near the end of the run on the last boss. That pet never appeared in a party pet frame during the time it was alive. The unit frames I was previously using always showed shaman elementals in its party pet frames.

Second, somewhat bigger problem yesterday. Another 5 man level 80 instance party, this time with a Hunter and his pet (a serpent). Did two different runs. Initially, the pet had no issues; after the hunter was invited to the party and pulled out his pet, it showed up in a frame to the right of the party frames and provided its health. But then, sometime between the middle of the first run and the middle of the second run, the pet frame disappeared with no way to get it back. The pet was present, but not the SUF frame for it. I did not reload the UI, but I checked/unchecked party pet visibility in the SUF options with no change.

Might be related to the hunter dismissing the pet and bringing it back and/or it dying and being resed (with the mod not picking that up). Anyway, it was rather annoying that the pet(s) frames disappeared/didn't show up with no way to bring them back.

Politig: Increase the number then to something above 0, there's going to be rounding issues and such as waha mentioned that you can't get around.

elcifr: I don't have a pet class to test XP things on, could you try typing /script print(UnitXP("pet"), UnitXPMax("pet")) in-game with your pet out and giving me the results.
