Titan Panel 4.0 - WoW 3.0.2 Release

Yes, we have updated.

Yes, I know we are freaking late but we aren't dead (yet).

Yes, you can go nuts.

Yes, there are release notes concerning what has changed for this thing, on our googlecode page, here.

Yes, this release is 3.0.2 compatible and will also work on WotLK, since it is essentially the latest developer release we currently use at the beta.

No, you may not use this on 2.4.x if you are a European resident and your patch isn't due for some hours. You will make a mess of your addon.

No, we won't be releasing this on Curse, please stop asking and emailing, it's annoying and only makes me more angry that I actually have to post something about it here.

No, you do not absolutely need to wipe your savedvariables before running version 4.0, nothing should break. However it is recommended that you do so, in order to start with a "clean" profile.

Yes, we know servers are slow but what can you do, it's patch day.

Yes, we know that some of your older plugins will/are giving errors with version 4.0. It's a major upgrade that breaks compatibility. We apologize for any inconvenience but at the end of the day we opted for the longevity and efficiency of the addon versus backwards compatibility. Hint: Look for updated versions, ask updates from the original authors, better yet, go the Data Broker category and look for alternatives.

Yes, we know that some bugs might have slipped under the carpet. Please use our googlecode issues page to report them. Makes everyone's life helluva lot easier.

Yes, I need to slap GoG for (probably) falling asleep and letting me deal with the mess (<3 Gogie ).

All I need from Stanceset, is to change weapon according to stance (vertically) or by key press(horisontally).
99% of the time I'm using it to switch between Hydrocane and actual battle gear. And weapon change option binded to "W" is all what I need from it.
If there any other addon that as simple as StanceSet, could you please link it for me?

After we get the next release out, I will be looking at developing a Titan plugin for this.

On a more serious note, Stance Sets has been nuked and will no longer be supported on Titan 4.0 as its current state did not allow proper maintenance. A rewrite was also ruled out (by myself at least) since I believe that there are far better addons that supersede its functionality and work way better.

This was done on purpose as Shadow Priests are over powered and need a nerf.

Sometimes I crack myself up. Other times, I'm probably just on crack.

Not only Microsoft guidelines, but against any humanly understandable ways to manage USER private data...
But I disagree about virtualization. It only allowing people to continue to write such crap.
If Microsoft will just deny to write anything in Program Files under regular user account, I hope Blizzard would consider switching to the user-oriented profile management, instead of Blizzard-oriented.

EDIT: I'd go to Ubuntu or other native Linux distro, not touched by some nasty hands.
Sadly my everyday tools strictly binded to Windows, and cannot be used under any emulation either... :'(

If it comes to file permissions under Vista, it would NOT work.
In fact, you was right telling to unzip files directly to AddOns folder.
ZIP file contains no information about permissions, so files will be created or not created depends on the user rights.
Under Vista, it is generally a very-very(ok, you got an idea...)-very bad idea to install games (and especially WoW) inside Windows' "Program Files", because Vista in it's own unique manner defending Program Files directory, silently denying programs (users?) to write in it, and redirecting all such operations to some hidden folders in user's account.

You'd better move WoW (or if you can - reinstall it) to separate folder (like C:\Games) or even to a separate partition. That way, you'll less likely encounter any file-permission troubles.

Good info, I wasn't aware of the fact that even unzipping a simple compressed file on Vista can have such implications. I guess I'm staying with XP for a little while longer.

Well, that method should have worked, as unzipping directly should have worked with no problems. There is a possibility that this is also related to Vista and folder permissions, unfortunately I'm not running Vista, so I can't provide solid advice on that.

A serious issue has come to our attention concerning the recent v3.2.8.20400 version. Apparently a certain combination of addons can cause an error in the TitanMovable module displaying as: "attempt to index local 'frameData' (a nil value)". This may have been caused by a couple of variables that were unintentionally converted to locals due to our testing in the Wotlk beta. I have reverted the change internally and released a new package over @ our Google code page. IF you are getting this error, try installing v3.2.9.20400 from here (http://titanpanel.googlecode.com/fil....2.9.20400.rar) and see if that fixes the issue. REPORT if the issue was solved. We will be pushing version 9 out, as soon as we can manage it.

Moving raw files from the archive into the addons folder by hand won't work.

I've been trying to understand how to install and use this app, but I can't even get it to show up. I dragged Mapquest and Questhelper files right into the add-ons directory and never had a prob, they showed up and i was able to use them right away. For some reason I can't get Titanpanel to work or even show up.
I am running Vista and Have the latest version or WoW-BC.

This looks like a really cool prog. would love to use it, can anyone help?

Thanks
